She was under 5'5" I believe & brunette. She was the sweetest nurse & took care of me. On scale 1-5, she is a 8. All of night shift was on top of all my test. My timing to the ER apparently was perfect as far as care. I don't know the night shift hospitalist but he was 5 out 5. Day shift was good too, but night shift won. I was told at 6am I would be admitted due to oxygen levels but had to wait for CT results before orders could be put in. At 4pm I was moved to the floor. The staff on the 3rd floor was attentive too. Angelina, day shift on Saturday 9/16/26, also gets 8 out of 5 stars. I guess things have changed. I was use to a hospital gown & personal items in the room when the patient entered. There was nothing at all in the room. Not even a blanket. Mom had brought me a gown, no problem, just surprised. I had to ask for glass of water & pitcher. During the night I ask for a blanket & kleenex. If someone got sick there was nothing for them to throw up in. To me this takes away from the hospital. At the minimum, a gown, blanket, water pitcher, glass & a pan should be in the room when patient arrives. I didn't need anything for vomiting but that's not something you can call out for something to catch it before you vomit. But dr tin Tran and the team there at ephraim McDowell surgery center were absolutely amazing!!! All my nurses and techs were the best but the two I would love to call out is Lavonda and Carolyn! Shelley Center staff helped me work on fear and they went above and beyond to make sure I loved myself again. They went as far as to buy me my prosthetics so I could start loving myself again and feeling like a normal human being. They're not just an organization, they're a family. I have used alcohol and drugs the past 45 years of my life trying to stop on my own lots of times but couldn't do it. When I walked through the doors I was amazed by the staff how they welcomed me. Now 8 months later after they literally loved me back to life I am proud to say that I am sober which my family thought would be impossible and very proud to be a staff member and will graduate in June of the long term program. I found God there which I had never had in my life and the tools they gave me and God's blessings I am alive now and the happiest that I have ever been in my life. I have been stuck in the never ending cycle of treatment for six years now. I have been to countless places that baby you and coddle you to death and focus on teaching people how to simply think better but never focus on the application of new behavior. Luckily, Liberty Ranch is much more focused on teaching people how to actually act better. If you want to turn your life around for good come to The Liberty Ranch and they will be your best bet to making a life long change. I am a year sober and have found some serenity and joy in life I believe that is in big part due to The Ranch and the people that run it. It is different than your average "cookie cutter" treatment. They deal with the real underlying issues and character defects that keep us in relapse mode. I originally came here for 30 days and now going on 7 months in this program. I came here from California and have witnessed the benefits of the program working in my life. The property is beautiful and there are dogs there for that extra love and support! Highly recommend this place if you are serious about your sobriety. She is absolutely amazing. She genuinely cares about the people in the house and goes above and beyond to make sure we have the support, structure, and accountability we need. Having that continued support outside of treatment has made a huge difference for me. What stands out most about Roaring Brook is that I never feel like I’m just another person going through a program. There are people here who genuinely care about my recovery and want to see me succeed.
