About Streets of Joy Drug and Alcohol Recovery

Centrally located in an urban area of Phoenix, Arizona, Streets of Joy Drug and Alcohol Recovery offers faith based outpatient treatment for substance use disorders. Services are supported by donations and grants, and are primarily free or low cost to clients.

They do not require health insurance to participate in their program. The facility is easily accessible by public transportation.

Treatment for Homeless and Low Income Clients

Services are open to all, but a special focus is placed on individuals with limited financial resources and no insurance. Low income clients are prioritized. There’s also an emphasis on treating men and women experiencing homelessness, addressing the specific needs of this group.

Christian Recovery Philosophy and Peer Support

Treatment integrates spiritual growth with recovery, focusing on dignity, compassion and restoring hope. Their Christian recovery philosophy emphasizes personal transformation through spiritual development and community engagement, and they partner with local resources to provide housing and employment assistance.

In addition to individual and group counseling, they offer 12 step facilitation and peer support services. I appreciate that they provide life skills classes, with subjects such as resume building and financial management. Relapse prevention planning is also an important part of their program.

I found positive reviews from former clients, with many highlighting the supportive staff and sense of community. They describe a welcoming and nonjudgemental environment, and cite transformative spiritual and personal growth because of their participation.

Outdoor Recreation in Phoenix

Phoenix is home to an abundance of outdoor spaces that may supplement your outpatient therapy. The Desert Botanical Garden showcases cactus and succulent collections, and is both kid friendly and ideal for meditative contemplation. Camelback Mountain offers scenic ridge views and trails of varying intensity.

I was a client at 5A and I had a great experience there. The staff was attentive and friendly. It was conveniently located to buses and the metro rail. I enjoyed my time there and completed/graduated the program. I would highly recommend this program to anyone selling help for substance abuse.

Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
