There is also a Community Recovery Program, which is responsible for a lot of outreach. This program provides support groups, skill-building workshops and individual counseling to help those who are enrolled in the program to develop healthier coping mechanisms when faced with stressful situations.

Clients can also take advantage of the 24-hour crisis support program offered at The Guidance Center, which makes sure those who are struggling with their mental health have around-the-clock access to intervention.

The SAME people who sent police out to my residence for an unannounced wellness check (and panic attack, thanks) also turfed me out of their waiting room for being EIGHT minutes late for my urgently scheduled medication reassessment the next day. After reading SEVERAL of these reviews...my doctor has IDENTICAL bad reviews dating from five years ago...I'm guessing there's no accountability or oversite...just a big budget and a check printer. Given the sheer number of people I spoke to at the Guidance Center, it seems my details would have reached someone given the seriousness of the matter. Me? I'm not goin there because I'm doing awesome so this sort of NEGLECT is a bit troubling. Communicate with each other...PEOPLE'S LIVES ARE AT STAKE. If you seek any help besides constant phone calls all week while you're at work these people will happily GIVE YOU NOTHING BUT FALSE HOPE. THEY CANNOT CONNECT YOU WITH SNAP, MEDICAID, OR ANYTHING REMOTELY HELPFUL IN ANY CONCRETE WAY. More than that the Guidance Center is A TRANING CENTER for INEXPERIENCED social workers who are making all the first mistakes with YOUR LIFE or a family member's life. If you need actual help soon then DO NOT HOPE THESE FOLKS MANAGE THEIR TIME WELL ENOUGH FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. They are comfortable, well-fed white collar folks who think you should hold your breath for YEARS while they fiddle with paperwork. Whatever your circumstances are, look elsewhere.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Michigan provides personalized treatment to help individuals break this cycle and regain control of their lives. Treatment methods are used in various levels of care, including inpatient rehab, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and standard outpatient treatment.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Very disappointed with the expectations of the facility, need more flexibility for family scheduling needs. Everytime they try to give my son an appointment during the times he should be in school how is that going to help either one of us in the long run. When asked why can't we just find a appointment time to be consistently after he gets out of school the young lady replies oh well our therapist have limited schedules ,so does his school schedule. unfortunately he can't go to school later in the evening to accommodate the therapist daytime schedule. The young lady that I spoke with seemed very unconcerned and told me she didn't know and to have a good rest of your day so I guess that's it for my son therapy that he had been having with Bethany. Thanks a lot guidance center 👎

If I could give negative stars I would. Not a good place to take your teenager. My daughter has had 3 therapists quit in the past year. How are you helping kids? Very unorganized, and the staff change is very rapid.

Response from the owner
We are sorry for your experience, Angela. A supervisor will reach out to you shortly to discuss your concerns and assure we are able to provide the best care for your daughter.

Dr. Vedati is very unorganized & the opposite of caring for his patients. Took the day off work to come meet with him for my medication told I have to come back in 2 weeks because he wasn’t comfortable giving me my meds over zoom. (NOT MY FAULT HE WASN’T HERE IN PERSON). Now I’m here again just for him to call in sick & not be in here today. I’m sitting in the lobby now hoping to somehow switch my doctors because I had to call off work without pay just to come here & him call off sick. My appointment was at 9am they didn’t call me & notify me about him being out today until 8:30 am when I was already on the way up here. Hopefully the guidance center can resolve this issue & give me a new doctor because I’m out $200 by taking the day from work to come in here.

We should have listened to reviews on this place. Very unorganized, no communication between the therapist and psychiatrist. We had to call for lab results after not receiving them over 2 months later. Finally when we received them they asked us to schedule an appointment with the psychiatrist to discuss. We did exactly that and was asked why we wanted to meet with them. Our son’s therapist left about a month ago and they still have not found a replacement even after calling multiple times. And if you need FMLA paperwork, forget about it. And if you do get it , it will not be right. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Never heard back , got skimped out of money when I paid for an intake the total over a hundred bucks. Got redirected originally the intake got myself together, never heard from a therapist. Orignally on waiting list for two years. Personally I should sue.
