My son has been going here for several months now, if it wasn't for this place and their wonderful staff, I might have never known the abuse his father did to him and his little brother behind my back. It took him almost 2 years to come forward about all the abuse him and his brother endured at the hands of their father, it was heartbreaking as their mother to know such evil was living under the same roof. I asked him many times if he wanted to see his father, his answer was always no. Now i know why his answer was always no. Great place to help kids deal with abuse and trauma. I really wish family court judges would stop putting kids with their abusers.

An excellent healing and therapeutic environment for children who have experienced traumatic events. I recommend Jessica as a therapist. She is kind, compassionate and very effective at helping kids move through their trauma.

I’ve had a really positive experience with The Guidance Center in Southgate. From the moment I walk through the door, the women at the front desk are always friendly, welcoming, and kind. Their warmth and friendliness really help make the experience more comfortable.
The staff I’ve interacted with have been caring, compassionate, and professional. I truly appreciate being treated with respect and kindness and feeling that the people there genuinely care about the individuals they’re helping.

Great place if you’re willing to do the work, don’t come in here expecting to just get fixed if you, yourself aren’t ready to make a change. Change comes not just externally but mostly internally, everyone here is very kind, and professional. You get out what you put in! I have done IOP, as well as weekly groups and 1 on 1 therapy sessions and all of which have been very helpful for my mental health. If there’s any miscommunication it can always be cleared up if you’re on top of your stuff. If you want real help from real people come to the guidance center and work the programs that they so generously provide.

I can only speak on the Adult PHP program from my perspective. My experience was challenging at times, but incredibly rewarding. I came into the program during one of the lowest points of my life and left feeling like I finally had the tools and support to actually move forward. Like anywhere, there were parts of the program and certain approaches that worked better for me than others. I do think they have areas for improvement in certain aspects, but overall I’m incredibly grateful for my experience. I learned more about myself in those few weeks than I had in years of struggling with my mental health. The group and one on one therapy helped me understand and actually use coping skills instead of just hearing about them, and I felt like there were staff members who genuinely cared about me as a person rather than just another patient. PHP isn’t easy and you definitely have to be willing to show up and put the work in yourself, but for me it was absolutely worth it. I walked in feeling hopeless and walked out with a better understanding of myself, coping skills I still use, and motivation to keep working on my recovery. I’m genuinely thankful I ended up there.

My kids’ therapist, Jason, is awesome! They actually look forward to their appointments. He is the best therapist that we have found for them. All of the staff have been great and very kind! Their psychiatrists are also wonderful! New Oakland Centers helped us immensely when we were in crisis. I highly recommend New Oakland Centers.

This is a great church to go if you are Lutheran. The greeters entering the church were very nice. Its a nice touch to have a small children's sermon. My only complaint was the shape the pews.

Growing up in public schools, I felt invisible. Now, as a CTK Parent, I feel seen. I feel my kid enjoys her time, always giving friends hugs goodbye, coming home with a smile, and excited to talk about her day!
I love that things are handled promptly and the communication is excellent! CTK feels more like a family than just somewhere you send your kid for 8 hours a day.

Absolutely love this church. Pastor Jay has a beautiful way of giving the message of Jesus. Beautiful church. And so friendly and uplifting. We were guest at a wedding many years ago. And then went back for a Sunday service. And found our church home. Fellow worshippers. God is definitely present here.

This clinic has been amazing and after my recent hospitalization I have even more respect for this clinic. You’re always going to get your complainers but I can’t even begin to explain how this clinic has gone above and beyond for me in every way possible. If there is a clinic someone should go to, it’s definitely CMS. Even the hospital staff was amazed with how fast CMS took care of business. They especially loved Tiffany. Amazing group of women. They went to war for me, I hope one day I can return the favor.

I'd like to make a special shout out to the ladies Tiffani, Tanya, Lisa, Dominique and Dr Nick for their absolutely outstanding service, bed side manner and overall experience.
I came in as a complicated emergency detox patient with severe underlying auto immune disease and AFIB. Am well known among the medical practitioner groups as a unique medical anomaly from the various health conditions i suffer from ontop of a severe chronic opioid dependacy.
Safe to say I'm very seasoned with medical lingo, treatment plans/strategies, the struggles of new patients and many other patient woes. So, I, as the patient came overwhelmingly prepared with meticulously documented list of my systems, substances I suffer from and anything else to help the team.
Tiffani was my first point of contact. What a total sweetheart and professional. Absolutely love how she gets down to business on your care without time being wasted. Being in the severe medical state I was in, my intake was very quick, smooth and within minutes was on a tele health call with Dr Nick-this is where things really took off for me.
First and foremost, Dr Nick might just be one of my all time favorite practitioners out of the 40yrs+ experience with medical staff due to his impeccable listening, understanding, level of care, and the overall efforts to genuinely offer patients relief of their nightmares. Truly owe my life to this God send as he literally saved me while in the middle of a severe reaction shortly after my first ever dose. Mind you, my case is very complicated, aggressive and being unique. I've found that being forthcoming transparency in the purest way is what will save your life. It's the only method I take due to the constant hurdles and obstacles I face during treatment plans. Wholeheartedly believe, can firmly say that had I of been at any other clinic outside of CMS, my life would have been lost. Dr Nick's heroism was among a top highlight in life for me and will be something to remember for as long as I life. My genuine thanks to a fantastic person who really not only loves helping patients but enjoys medicine. This is a rare and epic experience!
In closing, the staff, service facilities and overall care here are nothing short of extraordinary. This shop and the angels who show up daily truly have a gift of not only helping people but are miracle workers for those at the end of their rope. Nothing but my sincerest gratitude, appreciation and thanks to CMS for handling my uniquely difficult case.
Pro tip: when in doubt, don't assume you'll be OK as it may be your last ever breath you'll take! Please do your due diligence and research wherever you decide to entrust with your life during medical emerginces

The most amazing and caring staff on the planet!!! Big advantages are- you stay in their facility the entire time and always watched by a personal care giver and nurse. Other places make you get a hotel room and they don’t watch you. Advanced Detox also prescribes you all the meds you need to recover as quickly as possible. Some other places don’t do this. Advanced Detox WANTS YOU TO WIN AND THEY STOP AT NOTHING TO MAKE SURE YOU DO JUST THAT!!! I am eternally grateful for every single person in that beautiful God serving organization. I absolutely love this place and now that I'm gone I even miss them. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath.
Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Teally cool joint that I highly recommend

Back in 2011 this place changed my life. Actually learned a lot of important stuff. Detox and stayed there for 3 months. If I'm not mistaken it's a free program. If I'm wrong then it was definitely a low amount. Especially when comparing other places.

First clinic I'm actually happy to start. Everyone was so nice on my intake day. I love the doctor I seen (I don't remember his name, but he was really tall and he had brown hair and only comes in on Mondays) The lady at the front desk was so welcomed and nice I think her name is lila and Melissa is incredibly funny and helpful. My overall experience was just great. They explained everything perfectly and was more than welcoming. It feels like a breath of fresh air coming from what I came from previously.

My brother has been receiving services from AWBS for 14 years and he absolutely loves it. I love the staff at AWBS because they genuinely care about the wellbeing of not only the consumers they serve, but the consumers' family members as well. The transportation service is excellent. I no longer have to worry about struggling to get my brother to the program on time, get to my job on time, and having to leave my job to pick him up. AWBS transportation now picks up my brother from home, and drop him back off home right at the door. We love it! My brother now has a new social outlet, and a great weight is lifted off of me. I absolutely love this place and now that I'm gone I even miss them. The majority of the employees there care about the residents. It's clean, they make sure your withdrawals are not too bad. When u 1st arrived you will be in detox 3 days or so then go over to the residents side for 29 days. The rooms have 2 to 3 people in it with its own shower/bath.
Breakfast is 7, lunch 11, dinner 4 and a snack at 8. If you're too sick to go to the dining area they will bring it to your room. Mondays and Tuesday are your long days you're in meetings from 9am to 10pm. Group meetings are mandatory every day 9-11. Church is on Sunday and Bible Study on Wednesday. They will help u get on your feet so u can survive when u get out. Oh and the men monitors are cute too, i know one resident who has started messing around with one recently. But the majority of them are not like that. It's a spiritually grounded place where God is first. Oh and you get to keep your phone and smoke whenever you want to. Let's see what else , Oh the food is good now it wasn't when I 1st got there but we complained about it at our weekly meeting and it has improved, a lot! As far as I'm concerned it's one of the best around, but I've only been to one other Christian guidance center, i caught COVID there. I was only there for 2 weeks but they never took my vitals when I was there. And Harbor Light checks them every 4 hours when you're in detox. And once you have completed everything you will get a certificate and a coin. Oh and u have to drop weekly, Oh and they also have a medical mobile unit that comes every Thursday iu need blood work or whatever done. Teally cool joint that I highly recommend

Back in 2011 this place changed my life. Actually learned a lot of important stuff. Detox and stayed there for 3 months. If I'm not mistaken it's a free program. If I'm wrong then it was definitely a low amount. Especially when comparing other places.

Social workers are great, therapists are great, nurse practitioners are great, this review is more for HEGIRA in general but their psych doctors are all disrespectful.will talk down to you, judge you from the very beginning, at least that's my experience with each new doctor I see and location I go to. They see I am prescribed Suboxone (have been for 5 plus years) and try to take me off of my psych meds I've been on for five years or longer.yes, one is a controlled substance but ive heard so many reasons why they won't or can't continue me on my medicine that I know works because I've been told multiple times completely different stories.it took years to find the right cocktail that works for me.only by the prescribing doctors do I ever have anything to complain about.i don't usually leave reviews for anything unless it's something I love or it's a genuine problem.i know plenty of people who are prescribed incredibly unnecessary amounts of drugs, or people with the same or similar combination I am on and don't have the problem i am having. opioid crisis I get it but not everyone taking them is abusing them.is the only way I'm going to get the same meds I've always been on by going to a shrink where I have to pay? I've seen plenty of doctors who weren't psych doctors but would still give me my psych meds with my Suboxone, yes things are different now more strict, but over the last two and a half years of trying to find a shrink to get my stuff from the right doctor , I haven't had a psych prescribe my psych meds to me In almost three years. My PCP and my Suboxone doctor help me by writing them as long as I show them I am trying to get in somewhere. So if it's perfectly fine for the doctors who really shouldn't be giving benzos scripts to me (psych meds were originally started from actual psychiatrist in the beginning) why in the EFF will absolutely no one help me?!?

The difference between Trinity and a place like, say, Henry Ford, is like night and day.
At Trinity they treat you like a human being who is struggling, whereas, at Henry Ford they treat you from the very beginning of your admission like a criminal.
Trinity Hospital in-patient psychiatric unit treats you with respect and dignity.
Are there a few staff that aren't quite as good as others?
Of course, but, overall Trinity tries to give it's patients an experience that will improve their mental health instead of further destroying someone's mental health like they do at places like Henry Ford.
If I ever suffer any kind of emotional health crisis again I will be going to Trinity.
My only gripes are they need more cards of different types for patients to play (Regular cards, Uno, Skip-Bo, etc.), bigger tables outside of the dining area so puzzles can be put together, more books of different kinds in their library, and I feel as if they try to shove you out the door too fast.
At no point were they even close to capacity when I was there so I think they should slow it down for when there is not a lot of people.
I also think there should be a separate ward for the more angry, aggressive patients.
The people who run the groups are good, too, and deserve praise.
I just hope whomever is in charge makes sure to keep an eye on the attitudes of the staff so there is no decline in how patients are treated.
It takes an entire team to make sure patients are treated fairly and humanely but it only takes a few bad staff to ruin that.

First, I want to acknowledge how difficult it can be to admit that you might need psychiatric intervention. If you're reading this review, you might be considering intervention for yourself or a loved one. You might be crying, hurting, screaming into the void; it's terrifying to look at where one might go to be cared for at a time that feels overwhelming, isolating, and dark. You're giving up autonomy to strangers who claim they will help you in a time of need -- this is a major decision. No one wants to check into the ER for a troubled mind. No one wants to reduce their humanity in a highly controlled environment just to keep themselves safe. No one wants to lose access to their phone, their family and friends, the things that make them feel connected to the world at large.
And really, no one wants to eat hospital food three times a day.
But if you're reading this review it's because there may be no other option but to do these things as you white-knuckle your way through a personal hell on Earth. I myself hit a breaking point recently and did not know where to go; I had been white-knuckling my own inner hell on Earth for weeks and finally imploded, then exploded. After two previous outpatient stays at other facilities across Michigan, multiple psychiatrists and psychologists and therapists, I committed to checking myself into Trinity just to try. Just to see. Just to find the light, if there could be some. And I did find some: The staff here is incredibly kind, helpful, and they never appear inconvenienced. I was given access to multiple different medical specialists and doctors who could discuss the nuanced angles of my struggles. The social workers listened with care. The nurses were good-humored and patient. The recreational therapists were joyful, always smiling. And the food, it turns out, was not all that bad (just make sure you get double portions of everything).
I read books and looked out the window, and spoke with others who understood how I was feeling. I was able to rest. I was able to cry. I was able to feel my inner world fully and without judgement. I was anxious to leave when I regained my strength, as anyone would feel, and I felt I needed to leave a review as there were only a few by the time I Googled this facility; as I'm sure you're aware, mental health service providers suffer reviews that can be hard to trust or are designed to scare you based on a unique experience. All I can say is that I put my trust in Trinity and I left with my dignity intact. That is more than what can be said about a lot of places.
I leave this review in the hopes that if you or a loved one needs intensive care, please call and give this place a try. The light is here if you need it.

I recently experienced River’s bend for about three or four months and they did a fantastic job. The group therapy as well as the one-on-one therapy really worked. The tips they provided were useful. The therapists were phenomenal, they really listen and took time out to understand and provide solutions to any problem you were having.

I just finished the 120 day program and it changed my life fundamentally in the best way possible.. I came in homeless, penniless, broken and completely lost in my addiction but after adhering to their residential and IOP programs 100% as intended, I've rebuilt so many facets of my life, I've gained solid employment, was approved a Pell grant and accepted into Schoolcraft college and attending the Fall semester, reconnected with my children and family. Mariners inn also provided me with an amazing apartment in their recovery housing program while I get back on my feet and save for my own place. I truly owe Mariners inn my life. The staff, counselors and instructors truly care and if you take this program seriously.. your life will change beyond your wildest expectations.
