About Adult & Teen Challenge Of Texas

On the southern outskirts of San Antonio, Texas, you’ll find Adult and Teen Challenge’s (ATC’s) San Antonio Men’s Rehab. Here, they’ve offered adult men the opportunity to break free from addictions using an approach that combines Biblical teaching with traditional rehabilitation counseling since 1968. Their residential program runs for around one year (but you can stay for longer if needed) and does not require you to pay to enter the program (they start charging tuition deeper into the program).

A Whole Life Discipleship Program

ATC’s residential rehab program is nonmedical in nature, which means they require you to have gone through detoxification before starting and cannot prescribe any medication as a part of the process. Instead, their program offers individual and group counseling and education designed to help you learn about and overcome addictive behaviors. Additionally, they provide a safe environment where you live, eat, participate in counseling and work together in a community of recovering brothers.

In the program’s first phases, they focus on helping you build a healthy view of yourself, overcome thought and behavior patterns associated with addiction and live healthily within the community. These first 13 weeks are also replete with activities that are also physically engaging.

After these first phases, they start helping you find work and opportunities to develop into a more capable individual. At all times, they give you access to your counselor and keep you spiritually engaged with continual discipleship.

Helping You Develop Marketable Skills

Many rehab centers offer a form of work skills development, but the San Antonio Men’s Center has a particularly strong work study program. They’ll help you obtain a GED if you need to, and can help you learn to be a certified auto mechanic, welder, carpenter, driving instructor or Texas Food Manager. A recent resident reported that the program helped him learn to be independent in the world.

These people don't practice what they preach. The bad reviews are very clear that what they say their mission is, doesn't get implemented. If anything people get taken advantage of. I don't think I could go here to get help if needed or send my kids here if they were to be so far lost that we couldn't help them. I have family and friends of the lgtbq+ community also and to know they condem that and have the nerve to tell people they cannot be who they are and will turn them away or try to "revert them" is disgusting. I hope the world wakes up or reads a little harder and realize Christianity is not what these people are preaching. God must be very dissapointed in these people.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

Treatments

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Programs

Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Clinical Services

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

To commit injustice using the Lord's name, while hurting the very people you claim to help...shameful. God is Love and acceptance, not judgment and prejudice. Take heed the deeds of Jesus, and learn His ways, TRUELY.
