Absolutely avoid at all costs. Not only is this place a revolving door for psychiatrists but I found the front desk workers to be incredibly inattentive and rude during the two year period I was a patient here. I went through several psychiatrists which created obstacles for getting my medication on time. I often ended up waiting months to get meds, paperwork and had to call over and over again to get something as simple as an appointment set up. My final straw was when I scheduled a telehealth appointment a month out. During that month period, no one bothered to call me to tell me I would have a new psychiatrist who didn't feel comfortable prescribing me my meds without meeting me in person. After a month had passed, I got into the meeting room only to find my psychiatrist was late. He never arrived. Instead, I got a call from the front desk saying I could still have my appointment but I would not be able to get any refills. At this point, I informed them I'd be seeking a new office. Do yourself a big favor and stay far away, unless you enjoy having your time wasted.

My experience here in the past was poor. I started visiting the Fairhope office with much more success about a year ago. However I have been coming back to the Mobile office for the past few weeks, and while I can only speak on the staff I interact with, my experience currently has improved greatly and I have no complaints.

Accepted Insurance

BayView Professional Associates – Mobile works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

A Safe, Healing Space

Leaving my old life felt like falling off a cliff. But here, I felt safe for the first time in years. The women-only setting helped me open up. Staff were kind and really listened. Some things felt a little strict, but I needed structure. I’m learning to trust myself again ... Read More

excellent trauma therapy

I came in carrying a lot. PTSD, addiction, anger... all of it. The clinical team didn’t flinch. EMDR helped more than I expected and some vets in group really got me. The food was just ok, but the care was real. It wasn’t easy, but I left feeling stronger.

great art therapy & LGBT focus

Honestly, I came in raw and terrified. But the staff didn’t treat me like a problem to fix. They gave me room to express myself, especially thru art. It was queer-inclusive, and I felt safe! I wish they’d had more gender-focused options, but still, something in me shifte ... Read More

LISTEN TO THE REVIEWS. This place is the lowest of low. I would give zero stars if I could. 2 teledoc appointments back to back, I waited and no one showed. It’s a pain to get someone on the phone who actually has a brain. I now have not seen my doctor in over 4 months. I can never get my meds on time. I have no clue how these people stay in business. Do your research and see actual “professionals” !

I have been a patient here for almost 4 years now & every year I get a brand new intern student. This far I am on my 4th one & I have had 2 good ones & 1 I did not care for & 1 (the one I currently have) is by far the worst yet. Because they rotate in & out year after year there is virtually no continuity of care. Everytime I get a new student they want to change all my medications up all over again or, as is the case with the student doctor I have now, waste my time on medications he knows will not work & that my insurance will not pay for. Shows absolutely no trust in me as the patient & I am assuming he must treat all of his patients like they are stupid or maybe in his opinion “too crazy” to do like he tells you. Because of this I have had to purchase several medications that did not work & I knew would not work because I have had them in the past yet he prescribed it again anyway. He needs to allow the patient to be more involved in their care & the decision making process instead of just forcing you into this medication or that medication & going weeks, sometimes months with no help. I could say so much more but it would take far too long. One thing I have never brought up to him before is that I am a retired NP so despite him thinking he is keeping me in the dark that is not the case whatsoever & I am sure if I were to tell him he would pretty much be speechless.

This review is a long time coming, but back in 2018 I came here seeking mental health treatment and, now that I have experience seeing real, competent, qualified therapists, I thought I’d leave a review because it makes me madder the more I thought about it. First off, after filling out the questionnaire about my mental health (marking extremely low on quality of life in everything at the time), the nurse asked me something along the lines of “what’s causing your problems?” I said, “I don’t know.” She then looked at me like I was a complete moron and moved on. I was 19 and had problems, be more gracious. Once I was done dealing with the rude nurse staff, I saw a Doctor (can’t remember her name) who, after a single meeting, prescribed me a bunch of meds to see what would stick. The concoction ruined my mental health so badly I had to drop my semester and almost tanked my academic career. When I told my doctor about this, she told me I was faking it. Unbelievable. Also, the front desk is rude, and the people who answer the phones are short and rude. I’ve decided to add my review because it looks like some things are still constants, based on other reviews here. Don’t ever go to BayView Professional Associates if you care about your mental health.

The residents are new and will prescribe you medicine that is not covered by your insurance. You then have to wait weeks to see the doctor again and pay another 30$. Messed up my medicine multiple times. Had to wait.
