I went to Mississippi drug and alcohol treatment center in June 2025. I can say I learned how to find myself. The staff there is very supportive and they are very helpful when you need someone or something to talk about. I want to give a huge shoot out to everyone who supported me when I had no one and mostly to everyone for never giving up on me. Thank you everyone for believing in me.

This is the BEST of the BEST. From the staff,the cooks,counselors,techs,and even the other patients there! I had an amazing experience and the program taught me a lot about myself and life. One of the techs that really stood out and helped me is Alyssa. She's an angel and a gift. If it weren't for her I probably wouldn't had come out of my shell I was in! All the talks and laughs she gave me are always in my heart. One thing I love is almost everyone that works there is in recovery! Alyssa you are my inspiration and I'm so proud of you! Keep your same attitude and work skills forever, especially to the next patient that needs you. Just don't forget me.😊💖 Five stars and hats off to everyone at Mississippi drug and alcohol . This is such a awesome place . Everyone there is so kind and very helpful. They have been right there for me every step of the way. I'm so thankful that they take time out there lives to help people like me. So so thankful for this place. They truly are doing God's work. Caring for the sick and lost. Love this place

If someone rates this place anything but excellent I would take the review with a grain of salt. I see some blaming the faculty and facility on them not maintaining their sobriety. That’s the exact reason you’re not sober because you have zero accountability. Always someone else’s fault blah blah blah. Meeting after meeting after guest speakers like Simon and Mr Roy or Vinny. I see one person said they was strip searched and humiliated lol. That’s a lie you go into the bathroom when u arrive and pass your clothes and and belongings out the door to be searched as it should be. They can’t have you poisoning the whole damn operation bringing in a pile of drugs . And it’s also not in front of anyone. Once again another person blaming the establishment. Also the guys and girs cabins are prolly 400 yards from each other. lol and yes for all of you jealous spouses we did interact with the opposite sex. No big deal. We were they to focus on our sobriety not to find someone else known for making poor decisions to spend the rest of our life with. Hahahaha. Aight I’m done ranting. This place is the best around and I would recommend it to anyone that’s scared as hell to go into a program alone. They saved my life.

I've gone here for years, so I've been through a few Dr's (due to me changing my day of the week or other) & more than a few front desk personnel. For the most part it's good, especially recently. They've become more reliable. It used to be hit & miss when it came to getting someone on the phone or getting a P.A. for your script. However I've still got a little PTSD from the horrors of the inconsistency before. It's a delicate business dealing w/ people in addiction & recovery so staff is & should be held to a higher standard. Dr. Seelye is very kind & understanding.

I struggled with drugs when I was younger and I finally found the structure I needed here. They had a routine and support that let me get my head clear and focus on actually getting better. The staff was down to earth and really cared. The place could use a few updates and this was all a few years ago but it was clean and the help they gave was solid. I’m thankful for how they helped me take steps forward and helped me get some structure at a turning point in my early years

I know most folks don’t really leave reviews unless they are upset about something or frustrated with their situation and I’m not sure how things have changed since I was there but I feel I need to give my experience as a patient in 2009-2010. As a child I was faced with neglect, abandonment, molestation, homelessness, mental illnesses, family hardships amongst a long list of other issues involving hoarding. I came to Baypoint after have tried to and almost successfully, kill myself. The state of Alabama took me into their care and placed me here to get my mental in order. I rejected every ounce of help they had to offer and honestly was little prick while I was there. I joined in willingly to fights to impress other kids and act out because I was refusing to listen to my therapist dr. Rene. With this amount of attitude I was placed in seclusion (as I should be!) to think about my actions. Yes I was physically restrained but in their defense I was swinging on everyone and everything. They were protecting themselves and I completely understand this now. As teenagers we all have a couple things in common and that is that we hate the body we are in and we lash out on everyone around us. Add in a few mental illnesses and you have a dangerous situation. The folks at this facility during my time tried their best to teach me how to channel my emotions and I brushed them off with feelings that they didn’t know how I felt and nothing they could do can help. Know that I’m 30 I can think back to every lesson I ever had and use the tools they instilled so long ago. Now as i think about the children that were in the wwasp programs, bay pointe was an excellent facility! They taught me how to wash my own clothes and keep a schedule. We would get allowances that we could use at the vending machine and when we went on our outings. Going out to the pond and seeing the turtles really made my day! When I expressed the therapeutic need to see the stars, the counselors found a time to allow those of us who wished to see them a few minutes outside at night once a week to give us this. We had rec time and I see that they have ankle monitors now which can make this more of a possibility. So many of us tried to run away and some accomplished this because we all refuse help when we have to give up things in order to be help. Then we think we are abused because we can’t have our way. Bay pointe provides recreation, 3 very tasty meals a day, adequate bedding and supervision with an appropriate amount of discipline. Just like in high school, the teachers can only do so much about bullying. It’s up to you as an individual to walk away and ignore it. You can’t avoid this even in work settings as adults. My overall review of this place is when we are kids everyone is out to get us but just like with playing a sport, if you don’t practice everyday, you get worse. Utilize every minute of this program and be there for you not friends. I know how hard it is as I was there for over a year but that was my fault for making it longer and continuing to be a prick. Be determined and this place can be very healing if you let it. Using the business education program they had I’ve used what I’ve learned there and am currently a proud business owner. As the parents of children who are in this system, be involved as much as you can! You can’t expect change if you do not change yourself. Accept that you are going to have to alter your way of life for your children even more than most and call out to family and friends who can also support you and your kid. This program takes a while to sink in but if you let it, it will open your eyes and help you see the small tweaks it made to help you be a better person and control your emotions. I was a patient here, and Summer is a really good therapist! And Dr. Hamilton helped me with my medication. This place really got my mental health back on track, and your children who need help with their mental stability would definitely benefit from going here!

I recognize Townsend not only as a great recovery center but also as a huge support system that allows you to get back into your normal life without feeling overwhelmed with guilt of your past decisions of whatever that may be for you that led you here .Townsend saved my life and opened up a door I kept closed for too long!
