It took a while for me to decide to post a remark, but I felt that I had to say something. I was a patient there last June because of something stupid I did because of the pain I was in because of my back. At first I was very upset and unruly. But after being there for a couple of days I did notice a couple of things that are definitely NOT the faculty's fault. The doctors, nurses & medtechs did the best they could with what they had. These people come in to help, because they care. But the one thing I did notice was that the staff was over-worked, under-staffed, under-appreciated & I don't know, but probably underpaid. They relied on donations, when it came down to certain clothes, shoes & I remember how short they were on pillows. After being discharged, my husband & I donated some items for them to use. The thing that gets me angry is after reading some of these reviews, it has become apparent to me how important that the Gov. steps in and do something about the lack of care there is for mental health. I read in a comment that their loved one was dumped like trash and she had dementia. While there myself and one other person tried to help the medtechs, when they needed some. These people are human beings, NOT TRASH and shouldn't be treated like it, due to the facility being so short staffed. You know, it's a shame we don't learn from the Asians on how they care for their loved ones. But like I said my personal experience taught me a lot about facing my inner demons, while trying to help the medtechs. Here's a thought!!! Maybe if you treated your staff the way that they should be treated, then you would not have so many unhappy family members of the patients.

Our developmentally disabled client was admitted last week. I can’t say enough about how awesome this facility has been. At most past facilities our other clients were in we had such a hard time advocating for them. Beacon has been easy to communicate w all the treatment team. We were included and informed regarding his care plan. They were able to make him feel safe. I’ll be requesting this facility if we ever need an admit for our DD consumers. Thank you Beacon!

Helped me with a lot

I was thinking about this place today for some reason. I spent 29 days here in 2015 or late 2014. Anyway I remember it was a very good program. The scenery is beautiful and many long walks around the facility. I was glad we could smoke as well. I remember going to the local Catholic Church nearby. Oh yes and the food was delicious. Females were there as well, but no peeking lol. Overall a good place if you wanna sober up and stay off the destructive path.

I believe I stayed there for a month. Was treated well, attendants were great. Food was good. Attendants treated me well.👍

This place changed my life. It saved my life! If you or a loved one needs help, this is the place to go. The physical structure needs help but the mental health care is wonderful. As I said, it saved my life.

Applegate literally saved my life.been going there for 2 and half years..but they do need to hurry up with the insurance.....

They DO NOT take healthy blue like the website says. I have been going here for about 4 months now and they just keep saying they are waiting on the paperwork or something. They should really take it down from the website and contact medicaid and let them know they are not taking it cause healthy blue is the one who gave me this doctors info cause they said that they took my insurance but that wasn't the case. Other than that I love applegate recovery and all the employees , everyone is really nice and understanding.

I love this place. Very caring compassionate people. I've had a very hard time finding Dr's like this. Plus they offer counseling. I don't share my story a whole lot cuz I feel I'm being judged. The counselor & the Dr very easy to talk to. I recommend this place to every addict out there. Thank you so much

I've been coming here off and on for years now for help with my depression and everyone is so kind. Kathy is an amazing doctor and the only person I'll let prescribe me medication for mental health.

Love how helpful all of their endless resources are. All of the staff that I’ve encountered have been very supportive, polite, personable , & respectful of each person’s individual needs. I appreciate that our community has such available resources.

It is a good rehabilitation center because the program seems to be very good. It would be best if they had a little more organization to answer the calls

It's saved my life and my fiance life!

I'm so glad I found this place. I was addicted to opioid pain medicine really bad. I wouldn't even get out of the bed if I didn't have at least 2 pills to take. I spent a ton of money, buying pills from anybody and everybody. Then my grandson was born. It is true that babies will change your life. And he did. The 1st time we looked at each other, he was probably 3 days old, but we looked into each other's eyes, and I knew at that moment that I would be raising my 2nd grandson. The only thing I could do was get clean. I absolutely had to get clean. I started making phone calls, and talking to people and all that led me to the methadone clinic on Pride Ave. out by the airport. My 1st day was July 1st, 2013. My grandson was born March 27th 2013. It took me 4 months to find the best drug addiction center that I knew would work for me. I got custody of my grandson when he was a little over 2 years old. But he had been with me almost all the time since he was born. Cash just made 11 years old and he still lives with me and I'm still attending the methadone clinic, it's called BAART Program. I'm kinda scared to stop taking the methadone because I suffer from depression, anxiety, Rheumatoid Arthritis and a few other things, and I know myself well enough to know that if I stop taking the methadone, I will find something else to take. So, I'm gonna stick with the program because it has worked so well for me. I honestly believe that anybody with an addiction to opioids should try this clinic. The doctor and the counselor's there are fantastic. No body judges you, and if you don't feel like talking a lot, you don't have to. But when you get ready to talk about your problems and what led you to get addicted to opioids, they will listen without interrupting and they will listen to you, and they will help you. I know this, because I've been there for real. You will love yourself and everyone else when you get clean, I promise you that. You will feel so much better about yourself and your life. You will have a desire to do something good with your life. It's just great to be free from addiction. Blondie Suzanne.

The world says if you have a problem just go to a doctor or take more pills but the Bible says we can find healing in Gods son Jesus Christ and through the leading of the Holy Spirit we can be put on a better path. Defense mechanism, beliefs, anxiety, balance, compromising, productive, aggressiveness, issues, problem's,bad or good behaviors every day you wore them up your sleeves,and more and you wore them well but when I learned who you were was hard for me to believe,by any means necessary lord knows no surrender know retreat was your beliefs no games or schemes, now I see why other called you the true Ms.Recovery,I'm no M.L.K.but the day I walked through them doors I had a dream,you get what you put in when you work hard for something you develop a different kinda attachment for it just like your disease, and the gift of recovery is what you wanted all of us to achieve,to join the list of greatness without compromising who we are and what we have build an defense mechanism only we could see,we are who we are until we walk through that front door to leave the bullshit in the streets,to be productive in ur own recovery,all the streets and the anxiety of relationships and all the other behaviors that's bad must be released,on the contrary say an do what you mean, problem solving and everything in-between, excessive conversation on or off the phone makes being there harder at times it may seem, you was always full of data your Internet is always on,just a reminder you came there by yourself try to leave alone,find your own zone,I'm not talking about cox but after awhile it felt good calling home,you gave me this and I can go on an on these 10 effects and a few months later I'm still clean and I wrote this in your honor,to me your avenues black mamba so I will end this with you was my blessing in there and Thank you Ms.Donna So mite not understand this and the wording,that's ok but if you are anything like I was this is the place you need to be, when you go be open minded the staff is the best from the front desk all the way through they are showing you a different perspective of living,I'm a souechef but they have the recipe to recovery...one day you will have to get serious about you....

There isn't enough space to say how I feel about Lake Wellness. I woke up on 9/10/23 and decided to reach out to them via online. I filled out a form and was called within minutes offering help. I honestly could not do it by myself. The staff there is exceptional. The counselors there were exceptional. And the doctor very caring. Everytime I went in I felt like I was walking into home and knew I was safe. Thank you so much Lake Wellness, yall saved my life!!!!!

While enduring a brutal chemotherapy and radiation treatment protocol for Stage 4 cancer and with my wife pregnant and the birth of our third son imminent my evil mother in law used this as an opportunity to steal our kids with outrageous lies to DCFS and to get our kids back we both were ordered into IOP for Substance Abuse regardless of what I was found to have was prescribed by my cancer Dr. I wasn't real hopeful for this government funded agency but I couldn't have been more wrong Our counselor, Ms Pearl Watson facilitated a diverse class of court or job ordered clients with a firm hand that demanded accountability but rewarded those in compliance . with compassion, empathy and a deep knowledge of tools to access for sustainable recovery. The Clinical director , I believe named Tianna had designed a treatment plan that was easy to learn, and encouraged us to reveal things about our behavior that didn't seem apparent at the time.These people were a rare mix of empathy and creative genius that make me grateful for the program and i will be eternally grateful for the impact they made in my life and the others I consider family forever. Great place that makes me sad to leave.
