I am grateful to the therapist and especially Gloria for encoraging me. My self-esteem was very low. Some of us respond well to one approach others need more encouragement due to a negative view of themselves. Gratitude helped me improve the skills needed to stay sober & live a better life.

I came to Pine Grove as a broken soul—scared, and unsure of who I was anymore. What I found here changed everything. The people in Next Step really care. From the first moment, I felt seen, supported, and safe. They didn’t just help me recover—they helped me rediscover myself. This wasn’t just treatment. It was the beginning of true self-discovery. I’ll never forget the compassion, the guidance, and the community that lifted me up when I couldn’t stand on my own. To anyone struggling: Pine Grove isn’t just a place. It’s a turning point. Its not a prison or boot camp, it feels like a University with leaders that care and I’ll be forever grateful.

G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center - Hattiesburg CBOC is a Veterans Affair healthcare clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. They provide primary care as well as behavioral health services. I initially gave this clinic a bad review. I was sick and couldn't get seen. However, once I got through the initial screening (this appointment takes some time). I found them to be extremely competent. And they care. They are a small clinic with few people and limited resources. But, they are VERY thorough. Be patient, they are under the control of VAMC Jackson. We all know how bad Jackson VA is (except our useless congressmen and senators, I suppose). My advice is as follows: 1. Get a clinic appointment. Try to get Dr. Bowling. She will get to the bottom of any medical problem. This lady is tenacious when it comes to her vets! 2.Sign up for myhealthevet. Once you make an account, upgrade to the premium account. It will say you have to send in a form for the premium account. Just call the 800 number and have the service person upgrade it for you. They're very helpful. This will allow you to order health records, check prescriptions, communicate with you're health team. In other words bypass the VA bureaucracy. Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps. August 2023 update. They've run off ALL their doctors! Go to VAMC Biloxi instead.

I was there. I was in a place in my life where I could not continue on the path that I was taking. The counselors helped me work through the things within me that chained me to a way of life that was really no life at all. It was more of a way of death. That was five years ago. I am still sober. That facility helped me help myself. I am grateful. If you are reading this then you or someone you care about is in a bad place in their life. I know the feeling of crushing desperation. Go. Go and follow the program. Like you, I felt like AA was a bit culty. Trust me, man, it isn't. Once I wrapped my head around the principles of it and reconciled those principles with my personal faith in God I realized what a good thing it really is. They don't want to run you. They don't want your money. They just want to help you. I absolutely recommend it. It saved my life. It helped me make my life worth living

Incredible Spiritual Boot Camp - In the Best Way! Wow! If you're serious about getting right with God and yourself, Home of Grace is the place. They say it's like "3 years of church in 90 days," and they aren't kidding! The intensity of the spiritual teachings, the quality of the classes, and the dedication of the teachers and preachers are unparalleled. I learned so much about faith, forgiveness, and God's grace. The beautiful grounds provided a tranquil space for prayer and contemplation, which was so important for my journey. For what they offer – a complete spiritual and personal overhaul – the cost is unbelievably reasonable. My heart is full, and my relationship with the Lord has never been stronger

I’ve been on the program for 12 years, I ve had 3 awesome counselors. I stayed with one for 9 years, without her I wouldn’t have made it. She was in recovery herself, so She understood me. It is pretty bad right now, with the employee turnover rate, and organization with the Hurricane season. But with anything there is good and bad. I am sure they will get it back together soon.People need to understand that they are highly critiqued by federal laws. But as long as you do what your supposed to, you will not have any problems.

This is by far the most amazing clinic I've ever been to. I previously went to several of their sister clinics in OREGON. And while they were great, they don't compare to Jackson Comprehensive Treatment. The nurses, councilors, front desk, they all treat you like a human being. Not as a recovering addict. Longbranch came highly recommended by people close to me for whom I have tremendous respect and who deeply care for me and my family. Longbranch met and exceeded all of my expectations. The program focused on areas of recovery which I personally had previously been reluctant to embrace. The ‘faculty and staff’ were caring, knowledgeable, and passionate about this work, including engaging my family in the recovery process. And, I feel prepared to begin the next phase of my recovery journey, in large part due to the thoughtfulness and support that has gone into my after-care plan. Thank you Longbranch. Godspeed to all the newcomers and those still yet to discover this amazing place.

Longbranch Recovery & Wellness Center was the answer to my wife and I’s prayers. This was the perfect place for my journey of recovery from alcoholism to begin. The facilities and staff are top notch. The RAs, counselors and medical staff are amazing and extremely knowledgeable and very well educated. Many have been in recovery themselves and are therefore very well versed in their profession. Also, this center is extremely veteran and active duty friendly. The staff know all of the ins and outs of the VA system and there are several veterans on staff. I would recommend this facility over any other.

It took a while for me to decide to post a remark, but I felt that I had to say something. I was a patient there last June because of something stupid I did because of the pain I was in because of my back. At first I was very upset and unruly. But after being there for a couple of days I did notice a couple of things that are definitely NOT the faculty's fault. The doctors, nurses & medtechs did the best they could with what they had. These people come in to help, because they care. But the one thing I did notice was that the staff was over-worked, under-staffed, under-appreciated & I don't know, but probably underpaid. They relied on donations, when it came down to certain clothes, shoes & I remember how short they were on pillows. After being discharged, my husband & I donated some items for them to use. The thing that gets me angry is after reading some of these reviews, it has become apparent to me how important that the Gov. steps in and do something about the lack of care there is for mental health. I read in a comment that their loved one was dumped like trash and she had dementia. While there myself and one other person tried to help the medtechs, when they needed some. These people are human beings, NOT TRASH and shouldn't be treated like it, due to the facility being so short staffed. You know, it's a shame we don't learn from the Asians on how they care for their loved ones. But like I said my personal experience taught me a lot about facing my inner demons, while trying to help the medtechs. Here's a thought!!! Maybe if you treated your staff the way that they should be treated, then you would not have so many unhappy family members of the patients.

Wow, I'm shocked at previous reviewers. I don't know their whole story, but I'll share mine. The office staff were kind, respectful, and knew me by name after the first week. The therapists I met with were professional, used up to date research and evidence based interventions. I had a miscommunication issue about money, and the director called me herself to make sure she understood my issue. She listened and understood. More than working out the money, she was safe and trustworthy to problem solve with. I would recommend the Shephearst experience to anyone.
