I initially gave this clinic a bad review. I was sick and couldn't get seen. However, once I got through the initial screening (this appointment takes some time). I found them to be extremely competent. And they care. They are a small clinic with few people and limited resources. But, they are VERY thorough. Be patient, they are under the control of VAMC Jackson. We all know how bad Jackson VA is (except our useless congressmen and senators, I suppose). My advice is as follows: 1. Get a clinic appointment. Try to get Dr. Bowling. She will get to the bottom of any medical problem. This lady is tenacious when it comes to her vets! 2.Sign up for myhealthevet. Once you make an account, upgrade to the premium account. It will say you have to send in a form for the premium account. Just call the 800 number and have the service person upgrade it for you. They're very helpful. This will allow you to order health records, check prescriptions, communicate with you're health team. In other words bypass the VA bureaucracy. Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps. August 2023 update. They've run off ALL their doctors! Go to VAMC Biloxi instead.

I am currently here in dismas charities and I would like to thank Ms grisham for everything. She is the director. Of the facility. And has help me out so much. In transitioning. Back into society. After doing a long sentence in prison. Thank you Ms grisham. For everything. She is a kind person and will listen to us if we have any issue

I love this place ms Gresham is a wonderful person they care about your well being and rehabilitation back into the world they make your reentry very easy the food is wonderful and the counselor actually care they stand for what dismas stands for

The staff are very nice people! They have Wifi, but they won't give out the password!! Also, on the children's side, the toys on the playground desperately need to be replaced!! I've been going here now for about 10 or so years, and have almost always had good experiences. ✝️🙏😊

The Wings was an answer to years of prayer for our daughter. She thrived under the program and has continued in sobriety since graduating and coming home. The staff was exceptional and encouraged me as well as my daughter along the way. I highly recommend this facility for anyone struggling with addiction!!

Before coming to JMS Recovery I was nervous about the detox process and how my body would handle it. The medical staff explained everything clearly from the start and stayed with me through every stage. Those first few days were tough, but I always felt safe and supported. After detox, therapy sessions helped me rebuild my confidence and focus on emotional healing. The structure of the program made recovery feel manageable and real. By the time I left, I felt stronger, healthier, and more balanced than I had in years. JMS Recovery truly guided me back to stability.

Very rude. Very very unprofessional and RUDE. I called asking for a VA representative to help find my claim & the lady on the phone made me sound so stupid for even trying to call and ask a simple question. So much for veteran help. 👎

I write this review after having a horrific experience at Oceans’s Behavioral Health in Hammond in July of 2023. (I encourage you to read my review for them before allowing your dementia family member go there!) When my dad was sent again to geriatric psych at Lakeview, I was scared we were about to experience the same thing again, especially after seeing the reviews on here! However, our experience at Lakeview was completely different. My dad spent 4 weeks at Lakeview over the Christmas holidays and beyond. I was able to visit him between 3:30 and 4:30 everyday. The facility was very clean and simply resembled a hospital setting. I was escorted to his room each day but was able to puts eyes on other patients, the group room, the nursing station, etc. while there. The doors to patient rooms were open and I never saw anything disturbing or anyone tied to a bed as one lady who left a review wondered about. I never heard any shouting or yelling by staff or patients. It simply just reminded me of a normal hospital setting. I visited my dad almost every single day during his four weeks there. In those visits, I often checked my dad’s body for marks and gauged how he felt about the staff that often dropped in to say hello when I was there. My dad seemed clean, generally content, awake and aware, chatty and friendly with the staff. Everyone who interacted with he and I were very kind. Kianti (Tay) who escorted me daily was the sweetest gentleman and my dad really enjoyed him. Overall, I was pleased with the care he received. As a caregiver to a Dementia patient with behavioral issues it’s tough to be their advocate and protect them. I would allow my dad to go back to Lakeview if the need arises. I hope this review helps someone else.
