I was thinking about this place today for some reason. I spent 29 days here in 2015 or late 2014. Anyway I remember it was a very good program. The scenery is beautiful and many long walks around the facility. I was glad we could smoke as well. I remember going to the local Catholic Church nearby. Oh yes and the food was delicious. Females were there as well, but no peeking lol. Overall a good place if you wanna sober up and stay off the destructive path.

If someone rates this place anything but excellent I would take the review with a grain of salt. I see some blaming the faculty and facility on them not maintaining their sobriety. That’s the exact reason you’re not sober because you have zero accountability. Always someone else’s fault blah blah blah. Meeting after meeting after guest speakers like Simon and Mr Roy or Vinny. I see one person said they was strip searched and humiliated lol. That’s a lie you go into the bathroom when u arrive and pass your clothes and and belongings out the door to be searched as it should be. They can’t have you poisoning the whole damn operation bringing in a pile of drugs . And it’s also not in front of anyone. Once again another person blaming the establishment. Also the guys and girs cabins are prolly 400 yards from each other. lol and yes for all of you jealous spouses we did interact with the opposite sex. No big deal. We were they to focus on our sobriety not to find someone else known for making poor decisions to spend the rest of our life with. Hahahaha. Aight I’m done ranting. This place is the best around and I would recommend it to anyone that’s scared as hell to go into a program alone. They saved my life.

Mississippi Drug and Alcohol treatment center works miracles! My son has always been an addict. We've tried countless rehabs and programs but he could never stay sober longer than a few months, he always returned to drinking and smoking weed and then eventually disappearing for days on end doing god knows what. We had pretty much given up hope when we found this family owned and operated center in Mississippi, he really didn't want to go so that was a bonus for us because we were over it. We were just trying to get rid of him honestly but...It ended up saving his life and our sanity! The family weekend program really helped with healing and understanding, it changed my life and perspective too. Tomorrow my son celebrates 2 years clean and sober! I had a wonderful, educational experience at Longbranch. It was part my willingness, but the major part was the education in the science of addiction plus the deep dive into the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. Counselors, doctors, and staff were caring and helped me decide how I could further my treatment after Longbranch. I wish I had gone to Longbranch when I first realized that my drinking was a problem.

While I am grateful for my sobriety I really am getting tired if being treated like less of a human. A few months back a counselor and the program director violated several of my patients rights and broke numerous codes of conduct on their part. I filed a complaint and the regional director took their side, talked down to me, refused to hear my side of the story or look at the physical evidence I had on tape. Even my counselor told her that Im not one to start any trouble but I will stand up for myself but it was to no avail as again today they tried to withold my take homes even though they were paid for in advance even though they said to just bring it today it wasn't a problem. Thats $60. The pharmacist has a real attitude problem, which it all started because of her last time too. They dont let you ever forget youre the junkie and they are above you. If there was a closer clinic I would be gone but now they have me dependent on this drug. Theyre legal drug dealers in pretty wrapper

This is such a awesome place . Everyone there is so kind and very helpful. They have been right there for me every step of the way. I'm so thankful that they take time out there lives to help people like me. So so thankful for this place. They truly are doing God's work. Caring for the sick and lost. Love this place

Just to name a few, Dana, Lorraine, Loreal, Connie, and many others whose names I don't remember, the doctors, NPs, all were kind and helpful in any situation. I volunteerly sought help with medication. Ì was afraid of what would happen while there. After a couple of days, the other ladies reached out to me and every thing changed for the better. I had lost most of my sight and could only hear very little. The staff was extremely helpful and concerned. I did get my meds adjusted. The support staff were great. I only had a few negative interactions with staff. The worst one was in the day room on Sept 13, 2025 when a female staff member ran across the room and to the TV screaming excessively
loud. Most of us had very negative reactions and several went out of the room.

It took a while for me to decide to post a remark, but I felt that I had to say something. I was a patient there last June because of something stupid I did because of the pain I was in because of my back. At first I was very upset and unruly. But after being there for a couple of days I did notice a couple of things that are definitely NOT the faculty's fault. The doctors, nurses & medtechs did the best they could with what they had. These people come in to help, because they care. But the one thing I did notice was that the staff was over-worked, under-staffed, under-appreciated & I don't know, but probably underpaid. They relied on donations, when it came down to certain clothes, shoes & I remember how short they were on pillows. After being discharged, my husband & I donated some items for them to use. The thing that gets me angry is after reading some of these reviews, it has become apparent to me how important that the Gov. steps in and do something about the lack of care there is for mental health. I read in a comment that their loved one was dumped like trash and she had dementia. While there myself and one other person tried to help the medtechs, when they needed some. These people are human beings, NOT TRASH and shouldn't be treated like it, due to the facility being so short staffed. You know, it's a shame we don't learn from the Asians on how they care for their loved ones. But like I said my personal experience taught me a lot about facing my inner demons, while trying to help the medtechs. Here's a thought!!! Maybe if you treated your staff the way that they should be treated, then you would not have so many unhappy family members of the patients.

I was in here for about 2 weeks. It was alright. Staff were rude and careless, but not all. So many activities to do, a large gym where you can play your own music which is therapeutic for me, art stuff, and outdoor activities. kid in a wheelchair got the proper help, ect ect.. Overall not the best hospital, but a good one.

A few things about Covington Behavioral Health!
I was a recent patient here a few days ago. This was my second time around. They ended up putting me in Unit B, which was absolutely awful. The technicians were yelling at patients, ripping off the magnetic bathroom doors, and were extremely emotionless. I ended up having a panic attack, and told one of the charge nurses, she then told me I had to wait 30 mins till medicine time at 8pm. I ended up sitting there shaking and crying the entire time! Not even one of those people comforted me or asked me if I was okay. It felt more like a chore for them than their job. I ended up calling my mother who complained and I asked to be moved to Unit A (Calm Unit). I have nothing but amazing reviews for Unit A. The nurses are amazing. The techs are amazing. Doctors are amazing. The patients are even better over there because it is a place for people with certain problems who want a more quiet space and can heal peacefully! The only BAD thing about this place is the food. Some of it is okay, but they should really have healthier options for people who are healing. Portion sizes should be bigger too, because some of us are taking medicines that make us hungrier or even getting our appetites back! Consider it. Thank you to everyone who helped me here. I can not appreciate everyone enough.

I initially gave this clinic a bad review. I was sick and couldn't get seen. However, once I got through the initial screening (this appointment takes some time). I found them to be extremely competent. And they care. They are a small clinic with few people and limited resources. But, they are VERY thorough. Be patient, they are under the control of VAMC Jackson. We all know how bad Jackson VA is (except our useless congressmen and senators, I suppose).
My advice is as follows:
1. Get a clinic appointment. Try to get Dr. Bowling. She will get to the bottom of any medical problem. This lady is tenacious when it comes to her vets!
2.Sign up for myhealthevet. Once you make an account, upgrade to the premium account. It will say you have to send in a form for the premium account. Just call the 800 number and have the service person upgrade it for you. They're very helpful. This will allow you to order health records, check prescriptions, communicate with you're health team. In other words bypass the VA bureaucracy.
Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps.

They've run off ALL their doctors! Go to VAMC Biloxi instead.
