I’ve stayed here twice. It really is a good place to be when your in distress. Nowhere is perfect but they helped me. If I ever need to be hospitalized again I’d go here. I’d recommend it to my family and friends if they needed help. The last time I was there I was in icu psychosis from being on a ventilator for a week. At first I was hallucinating so bad I thought I was a hostage. They were really patient with me when I didn’t even know where I was and kept trying to leave. With the right medications and some time I got back to normal. The food is good. The staff has to deal with all kinds of people and they do a good job. I give it 4 stars because like I said nowhere’s perfect. No psyc hospital anyway.

I was transferred from hell called MS State hospital to here in October of 2009. My stay lasted until June of 2010. I walked I and thought this place was going to be like the rest. I was wrong. This place saved my life. The third shift were loud and obnoxious and a few of the first and second shift staff were, in my opnion, not meant to be there. The therapist, phychiatrist, "the board", and everything else was different. Most of the people there would go out of there way to help you. The one on one time, walking around outside talking to a trusted staff member, the nurses were amazing and patient, especially Nurse Scott. They helped me obtain my GED. If this place is still the same as is was when I was there, I would HIGHLY recommend this place. I wish they had an adult facility because I need the care this place gave me as a teenager. Plus the food was decent too. They made the place feel somewhat like a home than just a facility, which made treatment easier.

Raph is not the best worker here. I like her. She is rude. I forgive her. Christina is the 2nd best therapist I've ever had. Christina is the glue of my life right now. I thank God 4 sending me 2 Oceans. Lucy is Amazing. Rush is a pompous know it all condescending guy. He is very conservative with medicine. I forgive him as well. High school does not end here. There are cliques among the employees. When the bus comes, out of 2 months, I've seen only 2 white people talk to the black crowd in front of the exit. I am not wrong here. I do not deserve mistreatment. I love everyone. I want the best for anyone. I try not to hate. I love Oceans, Christina, Lucy, & Gabby. They are all super sweet, genuine & nice. Henry the bus driver is AWESOME! Best bus driver I've ever ridden with in my life. The food is great. Karaoke & bingo are fun. They take a lot of medical insurances. I LOVE this place. Sounds crazy I know, but when you've been through 30 years of mental health experience I gotta say this is the 2nd BEST place I've ever been 2 for help. Charter is the best. It's no longer there which makes this place the best. God Bless. Do the best you can by God yall. Amen.

UPDATE:
So I posted this when I initially left. I didn’t complete treatment. But it says a lot when a facility still has you turn your life around. I started methadone and have almost gotten everything in my life back. And it was all due to the care these people showed me. They may not even remember me bc my experience there was so brief. But their impact lasted forever. The way they fought for me. Worked on me, even in ways that made me uncomfortable. And the way they believed in me. That small period of time I spent there showed me I could do more than I thought. And it weighed on me.
I remember this lady grabbing me and telling me ,”the devil is a liar, and he wants you when
you are weak!”
And that stuck with me. During my addiction I had felt so chronically alone. Maybe I didn’t complete the program as I should, but that doesn’t mean yall shouldn’t!!! Keep going. Stick with it. These people will change your whole life.
Even I got off of hard drugs because of their impact. So please, do better than even me, and give them a chance. Hell, do the full 90 days as they have all the tools. I wish I would’ve. But I’m still grateful because even their comfort, and love they showed me in my darkest time stuck with me until this very day.
————
POST PRIOR TO THE UPDATE BELOW:
I sadly didn’t complete my treatment, not even by a little. I cowered down on day three. But these people really care. They try their best to keep you there. They care for you. And by you I mean YOU as an individual. I wish I would’ve been stronger than my vices. But to anyone looking to give treatment a plan. Please do not overlook this blessing. Some of the most patient, compassionate human beings I’ve ever met. They meet you with a love I honestly haven’t seen since I’d initially battled my addiction. Please give them a chance, and be stronger than I was. They are such lovely human beings not a single one showing any hint of judgement. Sweet people all around
Answers for those afraid of rehab, esp opioid addicts:
yes you are detoxed with comfort meds!!!
no they won’t let you suffer
They do not treat you like a “junkie.” They love you and see you as someone suffering a disease. Never in my entire life have I seen people so passionate about their job.

| Beacon Behavioral Hospital, in Lacombe, Louisiana, provides comprehensive mental healthcare services for adults, including specialized programming for clients with co-occurring addiction and mental illness. They offer inpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient (OP), and aftercare programming, including dedicated services for seniors | Treatments Programs Payment Options | It took a while for me to decide to post a remark, but I felt that I had to say something. I was a patient there last June because of something stupid I did because of the pain I was in because of my back. At first I was very upset and unruly. But after being there for a couple of days I did notice a couple of things that are definitely NOT the faculty's fault. The doctors, nurses & medtechs did the best they could with what they had. These people come in to help, because they care. But the one thing I did notice was that the staff was over-worked, under-staffed, under-appreciated & I don't know, but probably underpaid. They relied on donations, when it came down to certain clothes, shoes & I remember how short they were on pillows. After being discharged, my husband & I donated some items for them to use. The thing that gets me angry is after reading some of these reviews, it has become apparent to me how important that the Gov. steps in and do something about the lack of care there is for mental health. I read in a comment that their loved one was dumped like trash and she had dementia. While there myself and one other person tried to help the medtechs, when they needed some. These people are human beings, NOT TRASH and shouldn't be treated like it, due to the facility being so short staffed. You know, it's a shame we don't learn from the Asians on how they care for their loved ones. But like I said my personal experience taught me a lot about facing my inner demons, while trying to help the medtechs. Here's a thought!!! Maybe if you treated your staff the way that they should be treated, then you would not have so many unhappy family members of the patients.

Our developmentally disabled client was admitted last week. I can’t say enough about how awesome this facility has been. At most past facilities our other clients were in we had such a hard time advocating for them. Beacon has been easy to communicate w all the treatment team. I’ve learned first hand, people should let go of the stigmatize of the word ‘Rehab’. Disband the word shame and embrace the word Re-Birth. After one week I surrendered from denial and ignorance about addiction to gratitude and pure appreciation to have a place where selfishness is the part of growth. It’s a gift to take 30-45 days to really have only the time for you to reset, rest, get healthy, and heal emotionally, mentally and physically with the support of the most empathetic and caring team of Experts. Not one staff member shows an ounce of apathy, only patience and understanding. The fellow patients become your family. Who else can you learn to be open, vulnerable, humble and honest besides those who have walked a similar path of addiction and hold no judgment. Only support. You will learn confidence and self advocacy here at Long Branch. You will have the education and tools to take with you on your daily path to sustained sobriety. After meeting patients who’ve come in and out of rehabs elsewhere and my own failed attempts at IOPs. Why try sobriety on your own when you can expedite your life and happiness with the foundation you can find at Long Branch. I wish I would’ve done this sooner instead of battling alcoholism for 5 years alone, with no one to feel comfortable to trust or lean into for support. I can honestly say, I LOVED my Wellness Summer Camp. And the Process Group, Skills Group and 12 Step Program has set me on my way to a happy and peaceful, confident future for myself and my family. I stand the best chance ever to stay sober and go BIGGER in life! A happy and fulfilling one, that Long Branch and the Counselors, Resident Advisors, Case Managers, Medical Staff and Support Staff/Kitchen has provided. I was there. I was in a place in my life where I could not continue on the path that I was taking. Hi April can you please pass this along we the people of Altapointe watch other workers come and go they leave for various reasons some of the main reasons that we hear from them is its not enough pay and they just can't get with a 37.5 work week. For all of us who continue to stay because we love the company we love what we do. Even when people in the community try to talk bad about the company as well as you see a lot of the bashing on public forums. You have a lot of dedicated employees that take up for the company all we're asking is for a 40-hour work week instead of the outdated 37.5 times are hard for alot of people and for those who may not experience hard times and dont understand how a difference this can make for some God Bless You. Ok, so after almost two years with Dr. Sinclair I feel like I can give an honest review of my experience so far.
SO, as far as Sinclair goes, there is no one better in my opinion. He is caring, respectful and educated. He is the type of person you walk away from and the rest of your day is a little brighter.
However, the office staff? Oh lawd hammercy. It's a hot mess express. No one knows what's going on. Seems like no calls to the nurse line is documented, ever. I needed to be in his refill clinic and the nurse made me an appointment but for two months out and reassured me that I would be able to get refills even though my appointment was two months away. Found out that she made me an appointment with someone else (whom I've never seen) instead of Sinclair AFTER I requested refills through my pharmacy and got a call from the nurse saying that I couldn't because it was time to make an appointment. I told her I was scheduled and she told me it was with someone else so magically, she got me in the very next day with Sinclair for the refill clinic. Phew, that's just my recent experience with the staff. Lol
Anyway, I highly recommend Sinclair and I'll follow him anywhere he goes. My quality of life has just overall been better since he has been my doctor. I have switched medications soooooo many times to find the right med combo and he has been there in the trenches with me through it all. 11/10 stars!

Outp | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I've gone here for years, so I've been through a few Dr's (due to me changing my day of the week or other) & more than a few front desk personnel. For the most part it's good, especially recently. They've become more reliable. It used to be hit & miss when it came to getting someone on the phone or getting a P.A. for your script. However I've still got a little PTSD from the horrors of the inconsistency before. It's a delicate business dealing w/ people in addiction & recovery so staff is & should be held to a higher standard. Dr. Seelye is very kind & understanding.

They provide inpatient treatment for behavioral health and substance abuse in Mobile, Alabam | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I struggled with drugs when I was younger and I finally found the structure I needed here. They had a routine and support that let me get my head clear and focus on actually getting better. The staff was down to earth and really cared. The place could use a few updates and this was all a few years ago but it was clean and the help they gave was solid. I’m thankful for how they helped me take steps forward and helped me get some structure at a turning point in my early years

I know most folks don’t really leave reviews unless they are upset about something or frustrated with their situation and I’m not sure how things have changed since I was there but I feel I need to give my experience as a patient in 2009-2010. As a child I was faced with neglect, abandonment, molestation, homelessness, mental illnesses, family hardships amongst a long list of other issues involving hoarding. I came to Baypoint after have tried to and almost successfully, kill myself. The state of Alabama took me into their care and placed me here to get my mental in order. I rejected every ounce of help they had to offer and honestly was little prick while I was there. I joined in willingly to fights to impress other kids and act out because I was refusing to listen to my therapist dr. Rene. With this amount of attitude I was placed in seclusion (as I should be!) to think about my actions. Yes I was physically restrained but in their defense I was swinging on everyone and everything. They were protecting themselves and I completely understand this now. As teenagers we all have a couple things in common and that is that we hate the body we are in and we lash out on everyone around us. Add in a few mental illnesses and you have a dangerous situation. The folks at this facility during my time tried their best to teach me how to channel my emotions and I brushed them off with feelings that they didn’t know how I felt and nothing they could do can help. Know that I’m 30 I can think back to every lesson I ever had and use the tools they instilled so long ago. Now as i think about the children that were in the wwasp programs, bay pointe was an excellent facility! They taught me how to wash my own clothes and keep a schedule. We would get allowances that we could use at the vending machine and when we went on our outings. Going out to the pond and seeing the turtles really made my day! When I expressed the therapeutic need to see the stars, the counselors found a time to allow those of us who wished to see them a few minutes outside at night once a week to give us this. We had rec time and I see that they have ankle monitors now which can make this more of a possibility. So many of us tried to run away and some accomplished this because we all refuse help when we have to give up things in order to be help. Then we think we are abused because we can’t have our way. Bay pointe provides recreation, 3 very tasty meals a day, adequate bedding and supervision with an appropriate amount of discipline. Just like in high school, the teachers can only do so much about bullying. It’s up to you as an individual to walk away and ignore it. You can’t avoid this even in work settings as adults. My overall review of this place is when we are kids everyone is out to get us but just like with playing a sport, if you don’t practice everyday, you get worse. Utilize every minute of this program and be there for you not friends. I know how hard it is as I was there for over a year but that was my fault for making it longer and continuing to be a prick. Be determined and this place can be very healing if you let it. Using the business education program they had I’ve used what I’ve learned there and am currently a proud business owner. As the parents of children who are in this system, be involved as much as you can! You can’t expect change if you do not change yourself. Accept that you are going to have to alter your way of life for your children even more than most and call out to family and friends who can also support you and your kid. This program takes a while to sink in but if you let it, it will open your eyes and help you see the small tweaks it made to help you be a better person and control your emotions. Thank you baypointe and I’m sorry for punching a hole straight through to the break room on the teen girls side!

I was a patient here, and Summer is a really good therapist! And Dr. Hamilton helped me with my medication. This place really got my mental health back on track, and your children who need help with their mental stability would definitely benefit from going here!
