They DO NOT take healthy blue like the website says. I have been going here for about 4 months now and they just keep saying they are waiting on the paperwork or something. They should really take it down from the website and contact medicaid and let them know they are not taking it cause healthy blue is the one who gave me this doctors info cause they said that they took my insurance but that wasn't the case. Other than that I love applegate recovery and all the employees , everyone is really nice and understanding.

This is an amazing program . I graduated in January. Just to start with the smaller things , the beds are comfy , own apartment, private, the food is good. THE COUNSELORS ARE EXCELLENT! ELIZABETH was my counselor inpatient and I saw tremendous growth in me. She showed me Iam intresicly valuable. Alumni is awesome. IOPshod really have it's own review. It's excellent. I do my socializing here with sober people I already have a report with. They feed us and give our meds. Great comrodery.By far the best part is my counselor. KAT IS AMAZING! I don't know where I'd be with out her. She points my growth out to me. Has helped me get through many tough situations. She is educated, informative and has amazing feedback! She's my favorite part of this all around awesome experience. She not only is awesome listener but gives great advise and makes me feel important. This woman along with ERIN who I affectionatly call Nanny has great art projects and is very kind. Along with the receptionist Ms Altondra is so organized and helps everything run smoothly. When I walk thru the door as the first face I see greets me with care and optimism. I love this place and these lady's. IOP is fun therapeutic and full of love. I was thinking about this place today for some reason. I spent 29 days here in 2015 or late 2014. Anyway I remember it was a very good program. The scenery is beautiful and many long walks around the facility. I was glad we could smoke as well. I remember going to the local Catholic Church nearby. Oh yes and the food was delicious. Females were there as well, but no peeking lol. Overall a good place if you wanna sober up and stay off the destructive path.

After receiving 30 days of inpatient treatment for alcohol, I continued my care at Lake Wellness. Bruce Steinberg has been an incredible asset in my recovery; I cannot say enough good things about him. He created a safe and non-judgmental space for his clients, and each day of the week had a specific agenda, which kept the meetings fresh and interesting. I thoroughly appreciated the activities and concepts that we explored. His group was open-minded and empathetic and was a place for growth, healing, and connection for me. I made friends I will have for life in this program and will forever be grateful for the care and support I received at Lake Wellness.

To the Administration at Lakeview Hospital, I am writing to share my outstanding experience with the CT scan staff, specifically Victoria and Kelly, at your Covington location. My gastroenterologist recently ordered a CT abdominal scan with dye, and from registration to the end of my appointment, the care I received truly warranted a five-star review. Victoria and Kelly were exceptional at putting my mind at ease. They took the time to explain exactly what to expect, from the initial IV and kidney function test to the specific sensations caused by the dye. Because they were so thorough in their instructions—explaining the temporary warmth and the feeling for 5 to 10 seconds. II felt very little discomfort. They also provided helpful advice on preparation and aftercare, emphasizing the importance of fasting and staying hydrated for 24 hours to flush the dye from my system. Throughout both of my procedures, the staff remained communicative and ensured I was as comfortable as possible. I want to extend my sincere thanks to Victoria and Kelly for their professionalism and kindness. They turned a stressful situation into a very positive one.

I did a 45 stay and couldn’t recommend this facility enough. The staff is incredible, the schedule is brilliantly tailored towards holistic recovery, and the family is involved through weekly zooms and a monthly family workshop. The facility is the nicest I’ve been to and there’s an on-site chef and masseuse. It’s an intensive program but there’s a lot of comfort and camaraderie involved.

I went here for 7days a year ago and it was very good and nice in side nice staff I was in unit d. And they cared for us and let us watch movies and we all just got along with each other in there it felt like I had a real family for that one time and now im up thinking about how are my friends doing that was in there and how is the staff. i came in at the worst spot in my life and came out at the best. the social workers talk to you a lot and pay attention to everything so they can get you the right treatment, and most of the staff were always helpful and kind. the food was pretty meh but what do you expect. and if you really pay attention to the groups that you do throughout the day, some of them can really help you open up. just be honest and respect the staff and you’ll be good. also, if ms errolyn or ms trish is in your day shift, you’ll love them.

I volunteerly sought help with medication. Ì was afraid of what would happen while there. After a couple of days, the other ladies reached out to me and every thing changed for the better. I had lost most of my sight and could only hear very little. The staff was extremely helpful and concerned. I did get my meds adjusted. The support staff were great. I only had a few negative interactions with staff. The worst one was in the day room on Sept 13, 2025 when a female staff member ran across the room and to the TV screaming excessively loud. Most of us had very negative reactions and several went out of the room.

It took a while for me to decide to post a remark, but I felt that I had to say something. I was a patient there last June because of something stupid I did because of the pain I was in because of my back. At first I was very upset and unruly. But after being there for a couple of days I did notice a couple of things that are definitely NOT the faculty's fault. The doctors, nurses & medtechs did the best they could with what they had. These people come in to help, because they care. But the one thing I did notice was that the staff was over-worked, under-staffed, under-appreciated & I don't know, but probably underpaid. They relied on donations, when it came down to certain clothes, shoes & I remember how short they were on pillows. After being discharged, my husband & I donated some items for them to use. The thing that gets me angry is after reading some of these reviews, it has become apparent to me how important that the Gov. steps in and do something about the lack of care there is for mental health. I read in a comment that their loved one was dumped like trash and she had dementia. While there myself and one other person tried to help the medtechs, when they needed some. These people are human beings, NOT TRASH and shouldn't be treated like it, due to the facility being so short staffed. You know, it's a shame we don't learn from the Asians on how they care for their loved ones. But like I said my personal experience taught me a lot about facing my inner demons, while trying to help the medtechs. Here's a thought!!! Maybe if you treated your staff the way that they should be treated, then you would not have so many unhappy family members of the patients.

Our developmentally disabled client was admitted last week. I can’t say enough about how awesome this facility has been. At most past facilities our other clients were in we had such a hard time advocating for them. Beacon has been easy to communicate w all the treatment team. We were included and informed regarding his care plan. They were able to make him feel safe. I’ll be requesting this facility if we ever need an admit for our DD consumers. Thank you Beacon!

I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. I have been a patient since before Katrina. I get reminders about appointments, calls from the pharmacy to check each month how I am doing with medications before they send them to me. My counselor is a very nice person that goes out of there way to make me comfortable and happy. My doctors a little rough around the edges, but the job gets done and done right. I was thinking about this place today for some reason. I spent 29 days here in 2015 or late 2014. Anyway I remember it was a very good program. The scenery is beautiful and many long walks around the facility. I was glad we could smoke as well. I remember going to the local Catholic Church nearby. Oh yes and the food was delicious. Females were there as well, but no peeking lol. Overall a good place if you wanna sober up and stay off the destructive path.

Mixed Experience – Amazing Staff, Poor Facility I recently spent time at this mental health hospital, and while my overall experience was a mixed bag, one thing which stood out above everything else was the staff. Particularly one of the Techs named Mason. Let’s start with the downside. The facility itself is in desperate need of updates. The environment felt more institutional than therapeutic — fluorescent lighting, peeling paint, and a general sense of neglect. Some of the common areas felt cramped and outdated, and there were moments where basic supplies or comfort items were in short supply. For a place meant to promote healing, the physical space sometimes felt more discouraging than supportive. That said, the staff truly made all the difference. Despite working with limited resources, they showed compassion, patience, and a real commitment to helping patients feel seen and safe. Mason, in particular, stood out as a rare kind of person — calm under pressure, attentive without being overbearing, and able to bring humor and warmth to even the hardest moments. He always showed up with a smile and great energy, and I continually saw him go out of his way in order to help anyone he could. He treated everyone with respect and genuine kindness, which made a lasting impact on me and I'm sure many others. While I can't say I’d recommend the facility based on the building alone, I would absolutely vouch for the people who work there. If the management ever invests in upgrading the space to match the quality of care being delivered, it could become a truly exceptional place.

I write this review after having a horrific experience at Oceans’s Behavioral Health in Hammond in July of 2023. (I encourage you to read my review for them before allowing your dementia family member go there!) When my dad was sent again to geriatric psych at Lakeview, I was scared we were about to experience the same thing again, especially after seeing the reviews on here! However, our experience at Lakeview was completely different. My dad spent 4 weeks at Lakeview over the Christmas holidays and beyond. I was able to visit him between 3:30 and 4:30 everyday. The facility was very clean and simply resembled a hospital setting. I was escorted to his room each day but was able to puts eyes on other patients, the group room, the nursing station, etc. while there. The doors to patient rooms were open and I never saw anything disturbing or anyone tied to a bed as one lady who left a review wondered about. I never heard any shouting or yelling by staff or patients. It simply just reminded me of a normal hospital setting. I visited my dad almost every single day during his four weeks there. In those visits, I often checked my dad’s body for marks and gauged how he felt about the staff that often dropped in to say hello when I was there. My dad seemed clean, generally content, awake and aware, chatty and friendly with the staff. Everyone who interacted with he and I were very kind. Kianti (Tay) who escorted me daily was the sweetest gentleman and my dad really enjoyed him. Overall, I was pleased with the care he received. As a caregiver to a Dementia patient with behavioral issues it’s tough to be their advocate and protect them. I would allow my dad to go back to Lakeview if the need arises. I hope this review helps someone else.
