About Beacon Behavioral Health

Inpatient treatment here is designed to provide short term acute treatment for mood disorders and behavioral conditions as well as psychosis and suicidal ideation and other mental health conditions. The facility is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists and nurses along with mental health and recreational therapists and behavioral health technicians.

The clinical services available here include crisis stabilization and medication evaluation and management as well as safety evaluation. Residents can also expect structured group therapy sessions and social service therapy groups. They have crisis-oriented family therapy and support for loved ones and caregivers along with daily one on ones with a psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner. Recreational therapy also features to add a further holistic element to the center’s treatment offering. Some of the recreational therapy styles offered include art therapy and music therapy.

This particular location is a 34 bed unit in which residents get their own private room for extra comfort. The regular schedule for inpatient care may involve specialized addiction treatment services for those who need them, alongside nursing educational groups and personal goals groups. Once residents near the end of their program, they will work with the team to develop a thorough discharge plan to ensure a smooth transition for more sustainable results.

I came here 3 years ago. It’s like every other psych ward: cold, boring, and depressing. There was what appeared to be black mold all over the bottom of the walls and some of the staff were rude. They did a strip search on us. I had a medical emergency and they didn’t bother taking me to the ER to get checked. The only saving grace about this hospital is the (mostly) friendly patients and the fact they allowed us to have stuffed animals.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Genuinely has some of the worst customer service I've ever seen in a business. My partner needed records of her paperwork for personal reasons and they said they'd have it ready by tomorrow, okay, so we get there today and the papers aren't ready. We press the buzzer to get someone to help us. They say they'll be right out. Ended up sitting there for 25 minutes in the hot ass sun. Pressed the buzzer again, nothing, again, nothing. Do you people just hate your jobs? Do you hate people? I think a majority of the stuff needs to find a different line of work if this is how you treat people. Get bent beacon

I was inpatient here for 9 days and some of the staff was so kind and helped me quite a lot. Biggest problem was the medication nurses. They were incredibly rude and dismissive of patients and took their sweet time even getting Tylenol for migraines. Major pain for everyone.

Excellent nurses. Excellent social workers. Most techs are cool too. Techs go through a lot though, but a few of them needed to work on their attitude towards patients. Last but not least, I feel asthough a month and a half was way to long to be in there.

If I could give zero I would. Johnny was amazing and really tried to help you when you needed help. No matter what you do or say you not leaving before the max your insurance will cover. Some of the staff seem to have gotten this job straight from the McDonald's drive-theu because that's the type of attitudes they possess (only there for a check). I would not recothis place. You sit in the TV room and watch movies all day. There is nothing therapeutic about this place. The building itself is in desperate need of updating. You are starving by the time you get out because there is barely anything on the food trays and there is no such thing as seconds. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE IT IS A JOKE AND INSURANCE SCAM!!!! Please don't respond to me with the same response you given all the other reviews that exposed you. Your not even genuine in wanting to discuss the feedback. Just pasting the same response over and over. Smh!!!

What can you say about the ethics of such a place? My family member was held here for 2 weeks against their will in a clinically non-threatening situation. This is a medicaid/insurance farm designed to hold your loved ones as long as legally possible, under quite often false pretenses in order to satisfy the business side of their institution, and make money. Their goal is to use the lack of trust given to psychiatric patients to justify patient retention and bill you and your insurance. Jovel Finney, the social worker assigned to their case, showed no compassion, refused to answer questions, and instead insisted on backing these values of Beacon Behavioral Health. She hung up the phone with me when looking for information and refused to move my family member's case along in any way. She should be delicensed and prohibited from such work. Had no problem driving out of the office everyday with a smile in her BMW. Take heed, this is an immoral institution and a flowering example of what is wrong with our healthcare industry - keep anyone you care about away from this place, if you are even able to - we were not.
