The City Court of Slidell, Louisiana, offers Substance Abuse and Court Ordered Education to individuals on probation. This is a court ordered service for those facing DUI/substance abuse charges, and could be offered as a form of sentencing diversion program.
As such, they do not accept insurance. You are responsible for all fees for the classes in addition to any other legal costs. However, financial assistance is available when you meet low income requirements.
Changing the Way You Think
DUI/DWI classes like this are designed to introduce you to deeper concepts of substance use and abuse beyond the obvious dangers. For example, you may learn about the specifics of brain chemistry in addiction, or the specific ways that alcohol impairs your function.
