About NOLA Detox and Recovery Center

NOLA Detox and Recovery Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, uses evidence-based treatments to help individuals experiencing substance use disorder. The center is known for unbeatable hospitality, regardless of whether you choose a detox, inpatient, or outpatient program. The center is accredited, and most major insurances, including Aetna, Humana, Healthy Blue, AmeriHealth, TRICARE and Anthem, are accepted.

If you are at the beginning of your road to recovery you might find the medical detox program at this addiction treatment center an excellent place to start. The detox program sets a foundation for transformative recovery. You’ll receive personalized care from staff members who aren’t afraid to walk the path with you. You can also expect to be comfortable during treatment while you focus on managing withdrawal and cravings.

This program also utilizes a range of progressive treatment options, including FDA approved medications like Sublocade and Vivitrol. You’ll also be supervised 24/7, so you won’t have to worry about detoxing in an unsafe manner.

Many have also loved the center’s inpatient treatment, which is known for treating a range of addictions, including alcohol, benzo, hypnotic, opioid, and psychedelic addictions. However, if you need inpatient treatment, you should know that this program has four phases: stabilization, preparation, action and vision. Each phase is distinct, offering different treatments to help you achieve a well rounded recovery.

If you feel you need more treatment to help you maintain recovery you should consider the center’s intensive outpatient program. The program runs for three months, and you must dedicate three hours four times a week for counseling.

NOLA Detox saved my life. Treatment there has given me hope and the tools I need to beat my addiction. Their team of mental and behavioral health professionals helped me every step of the way.Throughout my 28 day stay the clinical team put together a comprehensive care plan. That included medication assisted treatment, group, individual, & family therapy, one on one psychiatrist visits, and recovery groups. Additionally I took part in the professional training group sessions and nutrition & wellness discussions that were offered.I enjoyed the Queen sized bed and the large plasma screen Roku TV in my Patient Suite. My two roommates and I enjoyed binge watching on Netflix.Copeland's provided the many delicious options at mealtimes. My clothes were even sent out to a professional laundry service.A nature trail and lush grounds were well maintained and ideal for jogging, walking, and meditation. My stay wouldn't have been what it was if it wasn't for the kind and empathetic staff that went above and beyond. A team of caring nurses and techs encouraged me on my recovery journey. I would not have been able to do have done this without them.My recovery journey is ongoing. NOLA Detox is still by my side. After my graduation from the program I have entered the Intensive Outpatient Program. With the help of NOLA Detox I'm moving forward and stepping out of the dark shadow of substance abuse.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!!This facility is nothing like the photos or promises they make online. From the moment I arrived, I felt more like I was in a prison than a rehab center. The conditions were horrible, staff were neglectful, and safety was nonexistent. Even worse, multiple individuals including myself were subjected to horrifying assaults. Instead of receiving help, I experienced fear and trauma. No one should have to go through what I did. If you re looking for a safe place for recovery, stay far away from this facility.

Accepted Insurance

NOLA Detox and Recovery Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients enrolled in outpatient rehab typically need less intensive supervision and support than those in inpatient care. Clients may continue to work and attend school while participating in addiction counseling and recovery education during the evening, night, or weekend. Clients also often enter intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment immediately upon exiting residential care, which provides them with high-level step-down support as they reintegrate into their homes and communities.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients enrolled in rehab aftercare programs have completed high-level treatment and are typically in the maintenance phase of their recovery, receiving customized services designed to support their sustained sobriety. Case managers and care teams typically begin to plan for the client's rehab aftercare services early in the treatment process to ensure the client's fluid reentry into their home, workplace, and community. These programs evolve as clients' needs change, and frequently include peer coaching, relapse prevention, and career counseling.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
The first step in the addiction recovery process involves flushing all addictive drugs and alcohol from your body while under 24/7 medical supervision. Known as a medically assisted detox, this level of care takes into account that quitting your drug of choice cold turkey can be very dangerous once you've become physically dependent. In a medical detox, your team of medical professionals helps to ensure your safety and comfort. Most people transition to an inpatient treatment or maintenance program upon completion.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

People gain great insight into the patterns of behaviors and the triggers that underlie addiction when they participate in group therapy sessions. Your peers will discuss their experiences and strategies they use to manage addictive behaviors, offering you a greater opportunity to learn coping skills that work.

Men and women in Louisiana who seek individual therapy for drug and alcohol addiction treatment will receive therapy in a focused and supportive environment. Therapists customize interventions to your unique situation. This helps you understand the addictive process and develop coping strategies to help achieve and maintain sobriety.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding dynamic between family members. Therapists assist families in identifying and changing negative, harmful patterns while improving open and honest communication. This provides a stable foundation for the recovery journey.

NOLADetox is definitely the Best Rehab Experience I've ever had. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are outfitted with plenty entertainment for your downtime. The groups are informative, the counselors insightful and the staff really goes above and beyond to aid everyone on their path to recovery.

This place is phenomenal. I can't even express the gratitude I have for the staff who are all so considerate and loving and helpful. Cedric is amazing, the techs are always there for you and encourage you to do right, and the nurses are so attentive. I've never had counselors like the ones here who are so well educated and informative and compassionate. Eric is the best counselor ever. Can't even express the successfulness of this place

I’m not one to respond to other people’s opinion on reviews! However, after reading this young lady’s review I must disagree 100% . Several years ago I was an inpatient (can you believe that) and the time I spent inpatient forty seven days!!!! Not one time did anyone step out of line with me and not with anyone else! To the contrary all I saw was respect from all of Nola Detox’s personnel!! and as a patient a few years ago when one was so broken and felt hopeless the staff were more than supportful they tried to comfort you and make it the best possible outcome for you! Now you can be an idiot they not going to treat you different they will treat you with respect ! They will try and figure out a solution to you problem! Not in a million years would I be where I am had it but been for the support from all the staff I encountered during my stay! The first person to make an impact on me was Ms Opal!!!! with her brutally honest ways will not sugar coat anything! But she does offer her wisdom and experiences she shares and if you want it take it ! If not don’t! Then there is Cedric, dang I could not have asked for a better person to go above and beyond and nothing but respect for us patients! And like nothing happened the next day if you had a bad day! It was ok! All the other Counselors, Nurses, BHT < actually working on that degree today!( I have been enrolled at Delgado since August of 2023!) I know personally most of the techs and they are in recovery as well you could not ask for a better group of individuals to get into to recovery with or it you have a problem go to them an talk it out! Nothing but love here! Sure easy way out let’s blame other’s for our choices! lol I take responsibility for the choices I made in the past and I don’t have enough words in my vocabulary ( and we have over 500,000 words in our vocabulary, even tho we only use 250 words daily) to say thank you and to NOLA Detox IOP thank you to all of them! I received 17/18 SUBLACADE injections during my IOP. It’s almost been a year that I have been off this injections with no problems afterwords! The IOP team gave me the tools I needed to integrate back into being a productive member of society today! It does not matter where I was yesterday what matters is today and I don’t give a hoot about tomorrow because it’s not here!!! lol And thank you Jesus and Nola Detox where I am today in my recovery! Ms Opal would “come on girl come get my chair” lol I’m like “oh, no Ms Opal, my chair is going to be next to yours”!!!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Noemi, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this incredible message. Your words truly stopped us in our tracks. It's not every day we get to hear such an honest, powerful reflection from someone who walked through our doors feeling broken and left with a renewed sense of purpose and strength.

Forty-seven days is no small journey — and the fact that you not only stayed, but now look back on that time with gratitude, pride, and even a little humor, says so much about the work you put into your recovery. We’re honored that you trusted us during one of the most difficult times in your life.

Your shout-outs to Ms. Opal and Cedric are spot-on — they both bring something rare and irreplaceable to the team. Opal’s honesty and heart, Cedric’s consistency and care — they’ll both be deeply moved to know they made such a lasting impact. What an inspiration you are.

We believe that recovery is about community, accountability, and support — and you reminded us why we do what we do. NOLA Detox Truly Saved My Life When I first arrived at NOLA Detox, one of the first questions I was asked was, “What are you going to do this time that’s different from the past?” Having been through several unsuccessful rehab experiences, I immediately recognized how important—and necessary—that question was. From the start, the staff and clinicians made a huge impact. Many of them have personally experienced addiction and recovery, which made their compassion and understanding feel genuine. I always felt heard, supported, and never judged. There was no sense of hierarchy or comparison—just a shared commitment to healing. Evenings at the facility included nightly AA or HA meetings held in the chapel, providing a structured and supportive close to each day. The accommodations were excellent. Roommates were thoughtfully paired, and each room came equipped with a flat-screen TV and Roku for relaxing during downtime. The gym and outdoor areas were also great for physical wellness and staying active. The food? Incredible. Every meal felt like something you’d get at a Copeland’s restaurant—delicious, high-quality, and with a wide variety of options for everyone, including carnivores, pescatarians, and vegetarians. Snacks and coffee were always available between groups, making the days feel comfortable and well-paced. Now that I’ve completed the program, I truly feel prepared for the next chapter of my life. NOLA Detox gave me the tools, support, and clarity I needed to live a healthy, sober life—and for that, I’m deeply grateful.

Yall this place!!! When I walked in I was so broken and lost I had no connection with my Higher Power and by the time I walked out the doors I was a brand new person. The way they take care of each individual patient, the way all of our needs are met on a daily basis all day is totally unreal. All of the employees are angels I literally don’t know how they can hear “I NEED, I NEED” all day from 50 people and not once blow up or even start to lose their shit. Every single employee there is truly amazing. Sara, Hunter, Adam, Johnathan, Derrick, Kendra and literally every single tech there goes above and beyond to make sure all of us every single patient is taken care of and comfortable. They do so much more than their job description. Now let me tell yall about Cedric the director and Nurse Opal omg those two… there’s no words to describe them that would be close to accurate but they more than anyone go above and beyond to make sure we are all safe, comfortable and accepted there. To actually feel safe somewhere is crazy it’s been so long…. They really care about us and each individual person they care about they go out their way to do things for us out of the kindness in their heart and most times out of their own pocket. I’ve never seen anything like it. All of the counselors are absolutely amazing, but Miss Ellen was my counselor, and that woman worked miracles. I don’t know how she was able to help me change and work through all of the character defects and flaws and bad coping skills that I had/have this woman took her time in our small group and individually to help me make sure that I could get to where I needed to go. I’ve never had the privilege of experiencing anything like this place, I can never thank them or repay them for everything they have done for me but one thing that I can do is stay sober- that’s all they want from us in return. I have heard people say that they’ve been to 15 + different treatments centers and that this one is hands-down the absolute best one. I haven’t been to a bunch of different treatment places, but I know for a fact that this is the best one and I’m just so grateful to have had the opportunity to start my journey there. So big shout out to NOLA Detox all the employees, nurses and staff and the community there is beautiful the community sticks together we all got along. We all look out for each other, we respect each other most importantly, we all love each other. I will never forget minor detox, family, and I can’t wait to continue on my sobriety journey with these amazing people by my side and on my team!! Thank you so much to everyone that put a mark on my heart during my stay to begin my sobriety, thank you so much Nola detox for giving me a chance never giving up on me and helping me grow into the woman I am. The work starts now and I’ve never felt more hopeful or excited about the future and my entire life and I owe it all to them.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Nicole - Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sharing such a powerful and moving reflection on your experience at NOLA Detox. Your words remind us exactly why we do this work — to walk alongside each individual, meet them where they are, and help them reconnect with their strength, their purpose, and their future.

We are incredibly proud of every member of our team — from Cedric and Nurse Opal to Ellen, Sara, Hunter, Adam, Johnathan, Derrick, Kendra, and every single tech, counselor, nurse, and staff member — who goes above and beyond every day, not because it’s their job, but because they care deeply.

You are a shining example of resilience and transformation, and we are honored to have been part of your journey. Remember, you are never alone — your NOLA Detox family will always be cheering you on as you continue building your beautiful, sober life. Thank you for trusting us and for sharing your story so others can see the hope and healing that is possible. - NOLA Detox

Nola detox was the best facility I have ever been in. The staff is amazing, between Cedric, Ms. Opal, and my personal favorite Ms. Ellen if I could get my shit straight with the amount of care and compassion they showed for me. I was doomed death or in prison. Now I’m getting my son back, have a real job and a huge sober community that cares & still checks on me on a regular basis. And I can’t forget to mention Sara, Patrick,Kendra, Derek, and all the other techs I didn’t mention. If u want to get clean and save ur life this is the place to go.!!!!! Never be ashamed to go back more than once!!!!

I can’t understand how anybody could ever write a negative review about this place. First of all the people that are saying that it’s like prison or jail have clearly never been to either because neither of those places would treat you with any kind of respect, Give you any type of responsibility, Allow you to watch TV in your room, Sleep in a comfortable environment, Order food from a Copeland’s Catering Company, Exercise daily, Go to group throughout the day, And all kinds of other events that the staff is always aiming to put on to please the client. These are all just examples of the extracurriculars that NOLA DETOX can offer. But like any rehab that you go to the success that you gain is totally up to the work that you put in And what you’re willing to do to get sober. The staff is amazing, The environment is comfortable, And most importantly, it gives you a chance To put yourself in a clear Headspace so that you can give yourself A chance to recover. I have nothing but good things to say about Nola Detox, and I Istrongly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a place to get themselves some help. If it ever came down to it again, this is the only place that I would check myself into. Sincerely, SEAN WARREN HOLLOWAY -NOLA DETOX ALL STAR

Nola detox has a very professional counseling staff like miss Monica and Mr Eric look I hate to be name-dropping on the internet but these people need some praise and probably deserve a raise just my opinion. 😊 I have to tell you guys I never had to worry about food they even have their own menu that you can choose from all Al Copeland cuisines. Breakfast lunch and dinner. I came to know the detox not in the very best shape physically but they even have a ex professional football player named Xavier who's also a health guru this guy got me feeling better about my physicality in no time from the queen size beds to the game room plenty of TVs one in every room with Roku remote from the beautiful walking path the AA meetings the one on one counseling even to the campsite fires accompanied by roasted marshmallow s'mores the place is just amazing I truly have nothing negative to say plus you guys who want to lift weights they even have those. In 35 days I got my life together Nola detox is truly God sent and out of all the rehabs they're probably the best one in Louisiana and how can I forget Kris and Dan the owners you never see the owner at rehab facilities I think those guys at least four times and every time they were there welcoming everyone with open arms I even see some guys that quit and they came back and was welcomed with open arms again there's no bad thing I can say about that place if you're struggling with a drug addiction I suggest you go to NOLA detox you will not regret it they truly will take care of you and that's a A1 promise. 😊😊😊😊💯💯💯💯💓💓💓💓🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
