About Genesis

Genesis was an outpatient alcohol, drug, and mental health rehabilitation center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The treatment facility offered a low intensity outpatient program designed as an intervention for clients in the early stages of addiction. The program offered 12 Step facilitation, peer support and individual counseling.

The program accepted private health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE. They were accredited by The Joint Commission. When appropriate, clients received medication assisted treatment (MAT) to reduce cravings. Additionally, they offered treatment in Spanish and English to make the program more accessible.

Recovery in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs offers stunning natural scenery in such places as Garden of the Gods and Pikes Peak. The treatment center was seven miles from the Garden of the Gods, a public park featuring iconic sedimentary rock formations. Clients could enjoy the scenery and walking trails while reflecting on their treatment plan.

Specializing in DUI/DWI Treatment

The staff specialized in programs for clients with DUI or DWI offenses. Programs included individual, group and family therapy. They facilitated 12 Step groups and worked with clients on relapse prevention strategies.

The aftercare treatment included ongoing individual and family therapy as well as MAT. Staff assisted clients in adjusting to their daily activities and home life while maintaining their sobriety. Continued family therapy helped individuals and their family members develop healthier family relationship dynamics.

Levels of Care

Outpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
