Rosa 2 doctors and staff yelled at and insulted my brother frequently, lied to the commitment judge to keep him committed, never once asked my advice, ignored everything I said, didn’t let him go outside for 2 months, and then sent him to a State Hospital where even the doctors there said he doesn’t meet the criteria Cruel and I am furious. If they had accountability with an Ombudsman, this wouldn’t happen. They can do whatever they want

While for the most part 99.9% of the staff was warm, kind and exceptional their discharge system is overwhelmingly horrendous!!! My husband had emergency surgery 8 days ago. Originally they were gonna let him out Friday but decided to keep him til today (Monday). At 12:17 the final Dr walked in spoke with us and said you’re all set, you’re good to go home. By 3 we Herro waiting in paperwork. By 3:28 nurse said were waiting on the Dr to put through the prescription. Any 3:40 I was involved in a 7 minute phone call with the hospital while they attempted to find the drs phone number. At 3:48 I’m on the phone with the Dr who told me they already put that prescription through! It is now an hour later and we are still waiting here bc the Dr who has to write the prescription is in surgery! While writing this review I have already called our primary care Dr who has put the prescription through to our pharmacy!!!! And I’ve received the text from the pharmacy confirming said prescription! So now what?!? Now this hospital just makes us wait here in pain and frustration bc now that he’s ready to go home who cares what he needs!!!! Needless to say the next words my thumbs will be typing will be to someone who can make them understand this treatment is unacceptable and quite honestly disgusting!!!! Yall should be ashamed of yourselves! 5 hrs after saying we can go home and we are still waiting here!!!!

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Jersey Shore University Medical Center offers an inpatient Psychiatric Unit for those individuals with a crisis mental health issue. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives, however, the unit is designed to keep patients in the area, near their families, friends and other support systems.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs enable clients to receive a full continuum of care while continuing to live at home. They're often ideal for clients who are stepping down from inpatient care but some clients may prefer to transition into outpatient treatment immediately after completing detox. Many outpatient facilities also offer ambulatory medical detox for low-risk clients. Outpatient treatment generally includes psychotherapy and life skills training. Clients in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

A medical detox is the safest way to wean your body off addictive substances. When you become physically dependent on alcohol or drugs, quitting abruptly can cause a host of challenging and uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. In medically assisted detox, a team of medical professionals will be on hand to monitor any symptoms, to provide medication if possible, and to help keep you as safe and as comfortable as possible throughout this process.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term, intensive outpatient option designed for those with moderate to severe addictions who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment is often fully covered by insurance and provides structured programming (i.e. individual and group therapy). A typical partial hospitalization program can meet 3-5 days a week for a minimum of 20 hours, offering intensive treatment during the day while allowing you to return home after. PHP treatment duration can vary based on your progress but averages 90 days.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients who are exiting inpatient rehab, those who are experiencing crisis, and those who prefer to live at home while in treatment typically enroll in intensive inpatient programs (IOP). These programs feature frequent and robust care, generally requiring clients to participate in at least nine hours of care weekly, though many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 treatment hours per week. IOP services typically combine individual, group, and family counseling with recovery education and holistic therapies.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in New Jersey is the process of addressing the complex issues involved with addiction. Challenges are identified and addressed through individual and group counseling. Participants learn how to manage these issues without the use of substances.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

You can find comprehensive substance abuse treatment in New Jersey in drug and alcohol rehabs. These treatment programs typically provide a full continuum of care including medically assisted detox, inpatient, outpatient, dual-diagnosis, and intensive outpatient. With a comprehensive substance abuse evaluation, addiction experts provide individualized treatment plans to meet your specific needs. These programs address substance use disorders using evidence-based therapies, like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), individual and family counseling, and recovery support groups.

New Jersey has a variety of dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs, including inpatient and outpatient drug and alcohol rehabs, that recognize the unique needs of individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs typically employ evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused therapy, and art therapy to successfully address co-occurring disorders and support sustained recovery.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
teen-program thumbnail image

Teen Program

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.
child-program thumbnail image

Child Program

The providers who specialize in the children's rehab space understand the specialized needs that this population faces. School-based and social services such as tutoring and family counseling are often central to treatment. Child programs may also address the needs of youth experiencing substance abuse in the home, including a parent's or sibling's addiction.
seniors-program thumbnail image

Seniors Program

Nearly one million adults age 65 and older live with a substance use disorder. Treatment providers who specialize in senior care understand the social, psychological, and physical effects of aging and how they relate to recovery. They can help clients address particular challenges and risks they may face as they get older such as overdosing and medication interactions and dependencies.

Clinical Services

ECT is a form of treatment in which controlled electric currents are passed through the brain, sometimes causing short seizures. Treatments are done under general anesthesia. ECT appears to change brain chemistry for the better, and has been shown to provide fast and sometimes dramatic improvements in severe mental health conditions that can exist alongside addiction, including depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and suicidality. ECT is also often used by those who prefer it to taking medication.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive way of stimulating the brain in order to help with symptoms of depression. TMS uses elecromagnetic coils to deliver magnetic pulses to the brain, which can improve a patient's mood and ease depression. It's often used when other depression treatments haven't worked.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New Jersey typically follows a set structure of treatment. The therapist helps clients identify their life challenges and their thoughts surrounding those challenges. The client then learns to identify unhealthy thought patterns and reshape those into healthy patterns of thinking and behavior.

Dialectical means opposing. The premise of dialectical behavior therapy is to learn how two things that seem to be opposite can actually be true. You learn how to accept yourself while also making changes. The focus is on accepting your emotions and changing how you manage them.

This hospital is huge and you believe that every thing is great. My parent was hospitalized after one car hit my parent. At trauma pavilion there Are people who do not want to help deliberately. Is the strategy of hospital or someone want to make everything difficult I really not know. After my parent has surgery at left leg, they did not do any CT scan or MRI. I fought for days till I achieved yo do the MRI. Mouth had infection but no chance to get any antibiotic at all. Horrible treatment

If I could give zero stars, I would. I delivered my baby with Dr. Nancy Vaughns, and my experience was nothing short of traumatic. From the start, I was clearly judged for having trauma responses during exams. When I cried during an invasive check, Dr. Vaughns told me, “Well, if you can’t handle this, you’ll HAVE to get the epidural.” Instead of treating me with compassion, she dismissed my pain and belittled me. In a later appointment, I was assured that my birth preferences would be respected but when the delivery day came, my birth plan was thrown away. Every concern I raised beforehand was ignored. Every fear I had became my reality. I felt manipulated and pressured at every turn, and the care I received prioritized convenience and control for the staff—not my well-being or my baby’s. After delivery, I suffered severe blood loss. I was never offered a transfusion, left feeling weak, terrified, and guilty for not being able to get out of bed or confidently hold my newborn. No one explained the seriousness of my condition or what to expect. Additionally, a resident I never consented to was allowed to stitch my third-degree tear, leaving me with many concerns and discomfort and no choice in my own care. The NICU was equally dehumanizing. I had a towel THROWN at me, I was lied to about my baby’s test results (which I later confirmed on MyChart), and misled about how long he needed to stay. My son should have been with me after one day, but instead I was separated from him unnecessarily. Overall, this practice and JSMU showed me nothing but disrespect, dishonesty, and disregard for patient autonomy. They judge young mothers, push unnecessary interventions, and operate with money—not humanity—in mind. Because of this place, I now live with birth trauma, postpartum struggles, and lasting physical pain. No mother should be treated this way. I HOPE PEOPLE START SUING!! Update: After receiving a phone call and this reply I have yet to hear on the investigation and would like to note while I appreciate somebody reaching out, knowing the result of matters and getting to also further go into my experience would be further reassurance that this will not happen to other people.

Rosa 2 doctors and staff - yelled at, bullied, and insulted my brother frequently - lied to the commitment judge to keep him committed - never once asked my advice - ignored everything I said when I called them numerous times, and defended all of their mistakes with the laziest of answers over and over. They also never course corrected - didn’t let him go outside for 2 months - sent him to a State Hospital where even the admission doctor there said he doesn’t meet the criteria, and there was an alternative in place the entire time - The manager Sam also blamed me for not taking him in, which is ridiculous because my brother needs multiple nurses, and my family tried to take care of him by ourselves but wasn’t able to with full time jobs. Deeply offensive and ignorant thing to say Cruel, likely illegal, and I am furious. If they had accountability with an Ombudsman, this wouldn’t happen. They can do whatever they want

I just spent a week in Rosa for an alcohol problem. You get no therapy, you're treated like an inmate. The place is dirty and they let the one girl looking for attention ruin every group and meeting. The nurses and doctors did NOTHING to stop it. The place is only good for changing medications. I met wonderful patients there, besides medication changes the only thing you have there are other patients. No therapy, groups and meetings are ruined by other patients. Please, please, . please, go anywhere else.

If I could leave 0 I would. Rude, spiteful doctor who actively refused to prescribe lidocaine he’d already agreed to because he got aggravated with me when I got upset about being discharged with no answers or treatment plan. Then decided to admit me after saying I was being discharged and refused to treat. Wouldn’t even come back and say it to my face. I had to walk out because I was having a panic attack.

The nurses seem incompetent. The place is old, and all the equipment is old, not to mention no one will help you get to where you need to go, and the place is a maze. Getting around it took me 25 minutes to find the right place, and I'm not too dumb, it's a dumb setup and can desperately use a remodeling
