The staff on the spinal floor, particularly my nurses Abby and Kaitlyn were so caring and attentive. They really helped me and took great care of me. The nurses who prepped me took the time to explain everything that they were doing, and why they were doing it while they shared their expertise. They also made me feel as though a family member was caring for me. Each and every one of the nurses that tended to me I can’t thank enough for the way that they handled me made me feel comfortable and relaxed for my procedure. After being prepped my Cardiologist, Dr. Thomas Breen came in and explained everything to me as to what the procedure would entail, there aren’t enough superlatives in the dictionary or the English language to be able to make everyone feel the way that I felt. While in the operating room, each one of the professionals that were handling the various steps needed for the procedure. carried on the way that The prep team made me feel. In recovery I truly believe that I couldn’t have asked for two nicer nurses Alexis, and Melissa C who tended to me, made sure that I was OK. Make sure that I was comfortable and kept my daughter informed as to when I could leave. Alicia Crape 2 weeks ago Fantastic facility, all the facilitators are knowledgeable and caring, spent 126 days here and got everything I needed out of the program. They have a great vetting process so you'll almost never meet a client who sucks, PHP was a great time even if a bit draining, and IOP was fantastic, all the techs, Landon, Travis, Zach, Mo (Hope you do well in Jerusalem!), Fahim, Antoine, Eli, Phil, Darryl were all fantastic and a key part of my recovery. Weekly grocery trips and catered lunch at the clinic made sure I never went hungry, transportation to 12 step meetings was appreciated. Allen was an absolutely fantastic therapist to have, but all the therapists: Tess, Bella, Megan, Curtis, Caitlyn, Andrew, and Allen are all fantastic and really help break down issues & education in a way that's noninvasive and actually helpful. The facilitators who aren't solo therapists Chris and Ervin are all wonderful and kind. The other staff members who make it all work in the background: Chuck, Kevin, Celeste, Jahila, and Kevin were very helpful and always around. While I don't know all the women's house techs, the ones I did interact with, Rea and Alexis were fun and full of wisdom. And finally, shout-out to Kelce and Jeff for handling all the administrative mumbo jumbo that let's the clinic and housing run smoothly. And Brandon, the maintenance guy, you are an elite asset and it was wonderful knowing you. If I ever relapse, which I hope I won't, this would be the rehab I'd want to come back to. I took them out and switched her to preferred and now she sees Megan and WOW she is doing so much better she’s so much more communicative and open her behavior has drastically changed and I feel like I’ve got my child back. I recommend them to anyone that sees that their child is going through a rough time. I feel like that she’s help me to reframe certain thoughts that I’ve had that have cut me in a stressful crisis cycle . Despite some of the older, more critical reviews, the current psychologist, Dr. Akunna, is excellent. The staff is also very respectful of gender identities and preferred names — I’ve even seen therapists gently correct each other when the wrong pronoun was used by mistake. Britney is a fantastic therapist — extremely validating and supportive. The smaller group setting allows for meaningful one-on-one attention, especially during afternoon sessions. Grace, their most consistent group therapist, creates a space where people can truly show up as they are — something I’ve rarely seen done so well. Ajita and the rest of the team work hard to support clients while also holding firm, compassionate boundaries to set them up for success after leaving the program. They use a mix of DBT, CBT, and other therapeutic approaches to teach skills in a holistic, client-centered way. They also encourage clients to seek additional medical support, such as a primary care doctor or nutritionist, when needed. At times being employed by and other times as a patient. By far the counselors that break their tail every day for their patience to have a positive outcome and fair shot at a good life. I have found it better to drive the extra 20 mins to come here where they seem to actually care and address all concerns, where as JSUMC they really just seem to not care. I can honestly say the care has been wonderful, and everybody who enters my room knock and announce themselves. You’re not made to feel as a bother if you need anything. Marcus Allen 6 years ago My roommate just came back from a stay here and apparently it's not the 5-star hotel everyone was raving about. Firstly, if you're staying here overnight, pack more things than you may need if you want to be comfortable, they take your phone and you're not allowed to call anyone except to get food delivered or if it's to the person/service picking you up. The food wasnt terrible, one night they served chicken baked with BBQ sauce with corn on the cob and beans. If you like cats, great! They have some on the property and they're friendly (and they get to eat your leftovers). You're not allowed off the property so you wobt ve able to explore the abandoned farms in the vicinity on your free time, which you will have a lot of. So, bring something to do like a puzzle or crossword or whatever keeps your mind occupied. The only forms of entertainment will be some TV, magazines, basketball with a broken plastic crate for a hoop, kitties(!), smoking if you smoke, reading something like the back of a shampoo bottle or drawing if you're into that sort of thing, socializing can really help. The people who oversee your stay are actually really nice if you treat then nice (they're just doing their job) and overall the quality of your stay will depend greatly on the people staying with you. So, hopefully you'll be with people who you can trust to go take a shower without having your stuff potentially stolen (so dont bring valuables) but the stay was pretty good, it's really about the people there. They will give you clean bedding, a towel, blanket, act but the mattresses are .. not the best and quite noisy when shifting arround. If your mind is used to instant gratification like internet or TV, be prepared to be very bored if you dont bring something to read/draw on/ occupy your time with. Alex Link 7 years ago
