East Coast Recovery is amazing! It’s amazing because the people that work there are incredible and they care very much about seeing clients succeed. I initially planned on being at East Coast on a week to week basis, not knowing how it was going to be before I got there. The service I received and the help I got far exceeded all of my expectations. I ended up staying for over three months. I moved on from East Coast Recovery center feeling confident and ready to fully participate in a life of recovery from substance use.

Best facility for treatment of Dual Diagnoses and mental health. 10/10 reviews - very receptive, caring, kind, intellectual, capable and grounding staff.
I’ve been here just 3 weeks and I can already tell the difference. I’m more grounded, mindful and feel more calm and peaceful.
GenPsych teaches you skills to deal with life. CBT, DBT, mindfulness, coping skills and much more. The entire staff is nice, knows exactly what they’re doing and they personalize treatment as much possible. Best thing that’s happened to me in the past 2.5 years ❤️

Going to the Livingston GenPsych was one of the best things I have ever done for myself - if not the best thing I have ever done for myself. The therapists there are incredible - Julie, Charlotte, Mike, Kayla, Eric are all fantastic, incredible people who have changed so many lives including my own. They truly care. The office receptionist, Provy, is a queen and a kind, friendly face who instantly makes you feel safe and the security guard, Max, is a gem as well. It is such a great, loving place and it is what you make it. The DBT program saved my life - it is hard, but give yourself up to it. :)

I am currently in this program and my counselor is great. I am flourishing in a way that I never have before. The staff are very supportive and allow me work a program that is uniquely designed for me. I would deffinately recomend it to a friend or anyone else that is seriouse about recovery.

Over the past few years, Hazelden Betty Ford has been a steady anchor in my recovery. The counselors are top notch and, more importantly, genuinely caring—they listen without judgment, remember the details, and offer practical, real-world guidance.
Group sizes are small and manageable, so you actually get personal attention. The vibe among patients is supportive and motivated. Most folks are there because they want to be, and that makes a huge difference.
I’ve participated in IOP, outpatient groups, individual therapy, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed work. The DBT class, in particular, was a life changer—the skills are concrete and I use them every day.
Over my time at Hazelden, I’ve gained tools to rebuild routines, reduce cravings, improve relationships, and maintain sobriety. Insurance/billing was smooth and handled thoughtfully, which removed a lot of stress. I’m deeply grateful for the compassion and structure here—five stars without hesitation.

The only thing I didn't really care about what this place was and and I'm gonna see what she looks like. But the person that is drawing your labs. At my experience from the day I was there and always the same very like robotic. Not friendoesn't take it easy kind of rough. I was there November 10 2025 for a kidney stone procedure. It was beyond exceptional. Everyone had their jobs to do and it was done beyond my expectations . I could have easily gone to Mt Sinai or New York Presbyterian. But all my records are with the VA hospital and since I been going to them for about 6 years now I feel very comfortable. After I was sent home two days later I had a setback ,in excruciating pain and literally living two blocks away from NY Presbyterian I chose to go to the VA emergency care. It was 2:30am and 7 minutes later I was on a bed in the Urgent care with meds in my system pain free. I remember all the faces but not the names in the Urgent Care unit. people are constantly thanking me for my service . But God bless them all at the VA.

I couldn’t recommend Pinelands more! I had no idea what to expect starting my recovery journey and I was so broken down and feeling helpless. All of the staff at Pinelands help me feel comfortable, encouraged, and supported. The meetings were so helpful and introduced me to the AA Program which I had no familiarity with beforehand. I was a patient here 13 years ago, and still clean to this day. I am currently attending school to become an addiction counselor, and I couldn’t help but think about my out patient counselor from so many years ago :) This process was by far not easy, but I just had to come here and give high praise to my counselor Jim. I don’t know if he is still there but he was amazing and saved my life. He was kind and patient and relatable… the three things we all really need when getting ourselves and our lives back together during a difficult time. Yeah, so, my life was a bit of a dumpster fire before I showed up here at Paterson Recovery. 🔥🤷♀️ Seriously, like a bad reality TV show. But these guys? They helped me grab the extinguisher and actually put that thing out. They've got this cool way of making you face your stuff without making you feel like a total screw-up. It's tough work, no lie, but you'll probably chuckle a little along the way. Who knew getting your life back could be kinda fun? Highly recommend for anyone whose life needs a serious reboot.

Paterson Recovery had a calm, steady vibe that made the hard stuff feel doable. The staff was serious about helping, but they weren’t pushy — they explained everything clearly and made sure I felt supported through each step.The setup was clean, the schedule made sense, and I never felt lost or like just another number. I appreciated how they balanced structure with care. It gave me space to breathe, but also enough of a push to keep going. By the time I left, I felt more in control — like I had a grip on myself again.

I’m giving a review as a former patient. I was hospitalized voluntarily for about four days in the mid 2010s, which may have been a while ago, but I was a teenager and never got around to posting a review. I went in for panic attacks and anxiety, I was fearful and scared. I look back in shock, disbelief, and horror at what I saw and experienced.
The children were drugged up and planted in front of a TV, there was no individual therapy offered whatsoever. Group therapy occurred once or twice, and quickly devolved into patients arguing and staff struggling to maintain order. I was further traumatized by what I witnessed, children being forcibly restrained and controlled by staff as if it was a prison. We were given no privacy, even patients who are not a harm to themselves or others. At one point, I was changing my pad when a nurse barged into the bathroom to check on me. It was extremely humiliating, especially as somebody who was already feeling so badly about myself. They also made me squat and cough naked. It was absolutely disgusting and horrible to experience as a teenage girl. Completely unnecessary for what I was admitted for.
The staff also turned a blind eye to other more aggressive, disruptive, sicker patients bullying me about my acne and shyness. All because they wanted to placate unruly kids. They chose not to defend me and my self esteem plummeted lower than it already was.
Even though I entered voluntarily, and was not a danger to myself or anyone else, I was also forcibly medicated. The psychiatrist that I interacted with was extremely awful and dismissive towards me. When I expressed hesitations around taking an SSRI, this person mocked and belittled me, saying I would never get better.
You got by and received privileges if you follow the rules to a T. I was quiet and kept my head down, thankfully I got out after only a couple days. I left with my trust regarding the mental health system completely destroyed.

Integrity House was very challenging and very rewarding. I was forced to face a lot of childish behavior I had been holding on to and actually work to change it. My sense of intitalment, my selfishness and to many more to list honestly. The staff there is great, always professional and compassionate. I'd really like to give a special shout out to my counselor Andres Ortega. He helped me replace so many bad traits through the application of spiritual principles. My gratitude, patience, forgiveness and understanding are at levels I never thought they could be and Andres was a huge part of that transformation. I've accepted that life isn't all roses, and that's ok. It's helped me focus on what's good and be in control of my feelings. Andres really challenged me to take a look at the role I played and play in my family and my relationship with my daughter and mother has been so much better as a result. I worked @Intergrity House (Bate Program) for 10 years and moved on to work in different programs throughout the years, I have to say this was one of the best places I worked in, they are there for their clients, understanding, their files are kept tight and bonus were the best. So, I will always be grateful to this program. Also the best, best thing i got from here is that I met my wonderful hubby there which he recently passed. I pass by 2x a week just to remember my experience there. The rose garden was one of my favorite places which was name after one of the most caring counselors from the end of the 80’s,

Grateful for the opportunity to go to Integrity house Newark. The staff were great my time there and they actually take clients to the dentist and doctor. We had events going to movies and the beach and always did something for a holiday. They allow visits and your family can bring you things you need.
