I have been receiving medical treatment at Lyons and East Orange for over 12 years.. and have interacted with many medical professionals and staff.. in any large hospital setting, you will encounter dedicated people and sometimes, some that are just not smart enough to gargle. I recently had shoulder surgery and I rate it 5 stars 110%. Drs, nurses, staff were outstanding and the scheduling was perfect. God Bless all those who take care of us veterans at both hospitals.

Well where do I begin, this place shaped me to be the person I am today, and for that I am forever grateful for all of you guys, and for my new life. I love you guys so much and miss you guys everyday , this program the people in the program has shaped me to be different it taught me to deal with the ups and downs it also taught me to keep pushing even when times get hard. We all go through stuff but what I was taught was we can get through it together if we keep on trying and we are in this together. I just want to honestly thank the staff and the people who talked to me or even waved at me in the halls or asked me how I been doing that meant so much to me cause you never know when someone will need a hand or a hug. If it wasn’t for Jesus Christ I would not be sober today. He receives all the credit for my rest, peace, restoration, rehabilitation, recovery and sobriety. I credit MM with convincing me to enter recovery. When I second guessed attending MM, from director down to intake coordinators they shared the benefits and advantages of the programs. I especially thank Irma for her encouraging personality and experience in the real world. The intake staff played a big role in getting me out of Michigan; where I felt unsafe and incapable of defeating the disease of alcohol and addiction. They called me 2-4 times a day, 7 days a week, for 1 month. They didn’t know me, but it felt as if they did. I finally had a friend or somewhat like a loved one that actually care about me living. Two therapist stood out to me; Meagan and Jesse! They were amazing. They obviously put not only their minds to their clinical groups, but they pour their energy and hearts into their therapy. I truly wish that one of them was my personal therapist while I was in the program. Jesse mastered bring clients/patients together. Meagan was unbelievable, her therapy and meditation tactics enhanced my relationship with Christ. It allowed me to focus in on my praying, conversational skills, praise and listening skills with Christ personally. In 2022, my father died and under the influence of my disease, I decided to not complete my MA in CMHC although I was only four classes away. Meagan’s expertise and compassion has changed my mind. I’m going to finish my Masters!!!! She was amazing! I also enjoyed specific staff members whom compassion and care was beyond genuine. Those staff members were two different Dans, Olivia, Victoria, Bill, Nick and Maryam. The highlight of my experience at MM were MY PEOPLE! Those who were just like me. Race didn’t matter, gender was no factor, and we all were blinded to anyone’s lifestyle preferences. We loved each other, taught each other, hugged each other, shared together, and encouraged one another. We all shared the same desire to be free. Not just free of addiction, but free in life alone. I encouraged everyone in my path to hate! Yes, I said it, “Hate”! I encouraged to hate drugs and alcohol. And I also loudly and proudly shared the name of my Higher Power. I will once again, if your searching for a Higher Power, I like to recommend mine. His name is Jesus! He has freed me in life. If you are ready for a new journey of sobriety, I strongly recommend MM of Randolph, NJ. This facility may require you to detox first, and two hours away I had an even greater experience at Enlightened Recovery located in Atlantic City, NJ.

Amazing program!

I had a great experience here, awesome team of counselors here that really care about us so different from other places I have been.

I attended Soba for my alcoholism October 20, 2025. I was extremely impressed with the living space. The group room has a huge couch for all to sit in comfortably while learning about addiction. My bedroom was decorated nicely and my bed was very, very comfortable. The tech team was outstanding. All of them genuinely care about all of us. If I needed anything they would always follow through. The food, was outstanding made daily by a professional chef. My favorite meal was filet mignon, garlic mashed potatoes and fresh cooked asparagus. All the meals were perfectly proportioned, fresh and packed with nutrition. The clinical team were right on point. I got everyone of my meds 3 times a day ( I have mid-day meds) When I struggled with sleep the pyschiatrist was quick to get me on a different sleep meditation that worked wonders. My counselor was very easy to talk to, listened and gave me great tactics for me to use. Lastly, Mike, in charge of client care treated us like royalty. He's present with us several days a week. He brings lots of candy and treats for us. Cheese and salami trays were my favorite. He deeply cares for each person and always asked "How I was doing and if I needed anything. I definatley 100% will recommend Soba to anyone that is struggling with addiction/mental health.

I would recommend this experience to anyone that needs help! It was such an intimate experience with staff that really cares about your progress.

Absolutely the best facility and most caring people I’ve ever come across. Shout out to everyone at the nurses station for holding it down for me when I was at my lowest. I was real nervous to come here at first, but the staff made it real comfortable for me real fast! Clara is a godsend and such a beautiful soul kept checking in on me every time she came in for her shift kept telling me “you can do this, one day at a time” Jen and Glen the nurses were amazing, also all the techs were real cool def made you feel good, if you need any help def check out sunrise in stirling! You won’t be disappointed, thanks again guys you changed my life love you all!

I experienced the MOST caring group of professionals, The nursing staff, every single one of those nurses in my opinion, deserve a raise. They put up with people coming in off the street after being on a drinking or a drug binge, some uncooperative due to going through withdrawal, some of them get their mouth going and cuss the staff out, the staff keeps a smile on their face and keeps it professional, They have a lot of patience to deal with people that are intoxicated like that. I have to give a shout out to Desiree, she is absolutely one of the nicest people that I’ve ever met in my life, the nurse that was on the night shift Wednesday 9-24-2025 into Thursday 9-25-2025. I can’t remember her name, she is great, Denise is another professional, They were absolutely excellent in everything they do. The food was good. The portions were plentiful the behavioral health technicians if you had a question or a problem or needed an answer to a question they were right on top of it if they were tied up doing something else and they said I’ll get right back to you. They got right back to us. The client advocate coordinator. Richard is one of the nicest men I’ve ever met in my life. I give a double thumbs up to Discovery Institute and to the staff and I must repeat myself. The nursing staff puts up with a lot of people coming in that are intoxicated. They’re high coming off alcohol coming off of drugs and they just deal with everybody on an individual basis. I’ve been at a couple different facilities and I don’t want to say the other facilities name. Wanna review for you guys but you’re right up there with the other facility that I was at incredible people that gave incredible care thank you Discovery for saving my life.

I entered with ankle sprain but the medical staff at Morristown Medical Center treated me like a champion until I departed. The nurses at Morristown Medical Center provided me with exceptional care while making me smile even when I was in pain. Their team delivered outstanding care to me.

Doctor, Annie, Rodriguez resident, and Dr Mark McQueeney ER Are two of the best doctors I’ve ever had to take care of me, they went above and beyond the call of duty to find out what’s going on with me even with the extreme heavy load that they had. Dr. McQueen he left his ER post for a quick five minutes to come and examine me as he Had the knowledge to do and special eye exam due to the pressure that I had behind my eye. Dr. Rodriguez physically went down to the emergency room to find a Doctor Who had the experience to do this test and Dr. McQueeney was the one she found, and both were more than willing to do whatever they had to do to find out what was going on with me and how they Could help me…… thank you, Dr. McQueeney and thank you Dr. Rodriguez for all the caring and above and beyond medical treatment that I received!! God bless you!!

I have had several procedures at MMC. My doctors were all fantastic, and on the whole, so was my nursing. Even the food is good! Always try to get to MMC for world-class medical care.

Let me start by saying I did NOT believe in group type therapy. That all changed when I walked through the doors of this facility. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and truly care about every single patient. I was a mess walking in and was discharged with the tools needed to become a much better me. Trust the process! I can’t say enough good things about High Focus (Cranford location). Thank you to everyone involved there!!

Amazing place really made a difference in my life.I’ve been here since February recently turned 20 in August and it’s just a great place all around they actually care about you and want you to truly do good ,it’s a blessing to have other people who are there for u mentally and care for you and your recovery process!

By far the best place around. If your serious about your recovery, this is the place. It’s not just all about the medication, it’s about the staff as well. My counselor, Sharece T saved my life. She goes above and beyond the call of duty and treats people as an individual, not a group, because we’re all different. She really took the time to get to know me and get to the root of the problem and checks up regularly to see if everything’s going well. I’ve been to many places, doctors, meetings and rehabs. No one has ever understood me better, witch is very important in recovery so you can be treated accordingly. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m extremely grateful and blessed for my counselor Sharece. A huge thanks to this organization and most importantly, my counselor.

2025: Went here for a second opinion from Dr. John Halperin -- Neuroscience. He reviewed the previous results and performed some additional testing. Thus far we are impressed with his opinion. Will update after the test results are in and he renders his final opinion.

I can just speak to the job of emergency services. The entire medcal staff was top notch- kind, understanding and professional. I cannot say enough positive about the security staff! They helped us maneuver in and out of the building and were the nicest most helpful in every aspect! Ten stars for them if I could! Overall a most positive experience during a difficult time.

I don't understand the negative reviews for this place. We found getting registered and placed with someone easy and accommodating. Kelly is AMAZING! I have not had positive experiences in the past with therapists, but she is the absolute best. She's "real," she listens, she is amazing at planning a session but also pivoting if necessary. I can't say enough good things about her!

SHOUT OUT to the staff here..I have been to many many rehabs, and there is something different about these people, and this place..they are in my opinion, Earth Angels. No judgement, they really just want to help and are good humans! Also, the way they go about treatment, I felt really cared about , from the 1st day. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after.. I can't recommend this place enough. They have no hard chairs that your ass goes numb from sitting in for hours, they have leather, lazy boy chairs, in the entire place, they have a quite room where you can rest if you are detoxing or dont feel good, they feed you great food, they have snacks and sodas and I was literally told "think of this place as your home away from home" and from the clinical staff, the nursing staff, the Dr., they're all special people. xoxoxoxo

I have been coming to Stress Care for several years now and at first it was a little rocky but about six months ago I was assigned to Christina. I cannot recommend Christina highly enough. She is an incredibly compassionate, skilled, and insightful therapist who creates a safe and supportive space for real growth and healing. From the very first session, I felt truly heard and understood. Christina has a unique ability to ask the right questions, offer meaningful perspectives, and guide me toward clarity in ways that feel empowering rather than overwhelming. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care shine through in every interaction. I’ve noticed so many positive changes in my life thanks to her guidance, and I feel more confident, grounded, and hopeful than I have in years. If you are looking for a therapist who is both deeply empathetic and highly effective, Christina is truly exceptional. I leave every session feeling a million times better. She truly tells me what I need to hear instead of what I want to hear, which is something I have never been able to receive through many therapists in the past. I have since loved going to Stress Care and look forward to going to my sessions, instead of feeling like it was a chore.
