| Princeton House Behavioral Health in North Brunswick, New Jersey, is an outpatient facility that treats mental health issues, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. They are accredited by The Joint Commission. The clinic accepts Medicare, Tricare, and many other insurance companies. They offer a self-pay uninsured discount in accordance with | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I attended the DBT track at Princeton House to work through depression, anxiety, and agoraphobia. The program gave me real tools to regulate my emotions and the language to understand what I was going through.
My therapist, Danielle, was incredible — compassionate, attentive, and honest in a way that helped me feel truly seen and supported. The group therapy format was also essential to my healing. The other clients made me feel safe and accepted, which created a space where I could open up without fear of judgment. The environment was respectful, and the women who run the program are strong, grounded, and deeply caring.
I also want to highlight the art therapist, Jenna. Every time I was placed in the art room, it felt like a moment of peace. She truly knows what she’s doing, and when other groups felt overwhelming, her sessions helped regulate my nervous system in a calming, supportive way.
I definitely recommend this program. My only critique is that it can be a bit disorganized with planners and materials. And a tip for future clients: it’s easy to care deeply for others in group, but don’t forget to put your healing first. You can’t support others if you’re still trying to stay afloat yourself.
Great program, life-changing support, and an incredible community.

I had a good experience at the New Brunswick location. The staff was extremely helpful. Heather, Meghan, Kami, Jenna, Ciani and Brian were all great. I still have a ways to go in my recovery, but I am doing much better than when I went in. The group therapy is very helpful.

Been there twice and gonna go again (one on the teen site and the womens dbt program). I had some issues with one particular therapist (for like group lessons in the womens dbt), but not everyone is gonna be great. I learned a lot about myself (i found out I’m autistic, have adhd, and ocd) and am more equipped to understand and navigate through my emotions, thoughts, uncomfortable situations, etc… Even though doing group can feel like a hassle, I recommend it here.

I have been receiving medical treatment at Lyons and East Orange for over 12 years.. and have interacted with many medical professionals and staff.. in any large hospital setting, you will encounter dedicated people and sometimes, some that are just not smart enough to gargle.

Managing health issues are always a difficult, but I have found the people and facilities at Riverview make every effort to make these moments as easy on you as possible. Valet your car at the front door, register at the front desk, take in the sweeping views of the river, and be seen by doctors, nurses, and the all the other staff members who make you feel like a real-life person they care about helping rather than a cog in the machine of their business. Dr Ciervo and team saved my life in a medical emergency a few years ago and I will never forget how compassionate they were through the entire process. I also highly recommend the Women's Center for annual screenings and follow up procedures as Dr Borofsky and her team - specifically Tiffany, Lisa, Doris and Danielle - were a dream team and provided the kind of top-notch care that all women deserve.

Their PHP, IOP programs helped me to regain tools and skills to support my mental & physical health. I have been struggling very much and when I arrived, I was met with the upmost respect, care, support and kindness. It is a comfortable & safe environment for those struggling with mental health issues, substance addictions, etc. and it is all owed to the loving staff. In their own respective manners, the amazingly sweet receptionist LeaAnn made the environment feel warm and friendly from the very beginning, she always said good morning and how is your day, truly caring about how you felt and being honest, it was hard for her not to make your day better. The technician and maintenance team involving the hilarious and comforting Joe & Rob would always find a solution to any of our needs and make us priority #1, yet would always have some time to talk and joke around with us during our groups in between groups. They are tremendous and I thank them for making rough days better. Words cannot describe the level of care and effort put by the clinical team, but Chelsea, Gracie, Henry, Monika, Josh, Julie & Victoria (Both case managers who helped individual clients with housing, financial, income, etc.) were monumental in my recovery and ability to cope with my issues in life. I am grateful for the work they do and their passion behind every intent. I felt validated everyday and I cannot thank them enough. The medical team including Dr. Paul Gazzara, nurse practitioner Latifah Oparison & Nurse Patty were incredibly helpful and understanding in the medications that were necessary for me in my beginning stages of recovery. Everyone in the admissions team including John, Gina, Dan & Tabitha made the initial steps very easy to grasp and helped throughout the way. They helped majorly ease any financial burden. Clinical directors Jess & Melanie deal with a lot of work and not often did I see them, yet they always made time for anyone to come and talk about any issues or just to have a conversation with them. They are incredibly kind and amazing at their field of work, they care and I am very grateful. Would definitely recommend for those who have or are currently with mental health/substance abuse. In my experience of rehab centers, detox, sober living, this has been one of the greatest.

Despite after reading some negative reviews, both my daughter, Elizabeth, and I cannot say enough about Relavance !
From the first phone call I received from Gina, & completing my intake with Leah Ryan, on 2/10/25, both my daughter, and I knew, this was the solution for me to get better.❤️🩹
From day one, everyone in this facility made me feel welcomed, important, and not to mention , safe enough to open up, share my heartaches, without being judge or embarrassed.
I have learned so much about myself, and for the first time, in a very long time, not only am I “Worthy,” but I am “Important,” and I don’t need a supplement of any kind to achieve this.
When people say, “First impressions mean the most,” what I experienced on my first day. It made all the difference to my world.
I have, and will continue to recommend Relevance House in Freehold New Jersey, to anyone who is seeking help.
“I’m not just a spokesperson, I am a client 😜” Did I mention most of the staff got my sense of humor.
Thanking you from the bottom of both my daughter, Elizabeth, and my heart ♥️

I'm writing this review to express my sincere appreciation for Chris Vallecillo, a clinician who truly made a difference in my treatment at Relevance. I worked with Chris for a significant period, and his approach to therapy was incredibly effective for me.
Chris has a unique ability to connect with you on a personal level while maintaining a professional and insightful demeanor. He created a comfortable and trusting environment where I felt safe to openly discuss my challenges. His guidance was always practical and actionable, helping me develop coping mechanisms and strategies that genuinely improved my well-being. I particularly valued his ability to listen intently and offer perspectives that I hadn't considered, which was crucial for my progress.
I was genuinely disappointed to learn that Chris is no longer working at Relevance. His departure is a significant loss for the facility, as his expertise and compassionate approach are truly exceptional. For anyone seeking a clinician who is not only highly skilled but also deeply committed to their patients' success, Chris Vallecillo is, in my experience, outstanding. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors and hope that others will have the opportunity to benefit from his incredible support as I did.

We are beyond grateful for the incredible care and support our son received at High Focus in Freehold—especially from Tim and Nurse Practitioner Natalie.
Tim has been nothing short of amazing. From the start, he connected with our teen in a way that was both compassionate and effective. He created a safe, trusting space that allowed our son to begin working through his anxiety and emotional struggles. Week by week, we saw real growth—not just in how our son managed tough emotions, but in how he began to view himself and the world around him.
What truly stood out was how available and supportive Tim has been—not just for our son, but for us as parents. He was always willing to take the time to talk, listen, and guide us through how best to support our child at home. His dedication and empathy made such a difference for our entire family.
We’re also incredibly thankful for Natalie, the nurse practitioner who worked one-on-one with our son and gave him so much thoughtful, personalized attention. Her calm, steady presence and willingness to meet him where he was helped him open up in ways we hadn’t seen before. Her insights and guidance were invaluable throughout this process.
Together, Tim and Natalie created a team that helped our son take real steps toward healing—and gave us the support we needed along the way. We can’t thank them enough. If you’re looking for professionals who genuinely care and go above and beyond, we wholeheartedly recommend the team at High Focus Freehold.

By far the best place around. If your serious about your recovery, this is the place. It’s not just all about the medication, it’s about the staff as well. My counselor, Sharece T saved my life. She goes above and beyond the call of duty and treats people as an individual, not a group, because we’re all different. She really took the time to get to know me and get to the root of the problem and checks up regularly to see if everything’s going well. I’ve been to many places, doctors, meetings and rehabs. No one has ever understood me better, witch is very important in recovery so you can be treated accordingly. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m extremely grateful and blessed for my counselor Sharece. A huge thanks to this organization and most importantly, my counselor.

I am excited to share that I graduated from their Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in June 2025. After years of suffering from corporate burnout, I reached my tipping point and realized I needed help. I am beyond grateful that I found this facility and put in the work to get better. With the help of their staff, I learned how much pain I was allowing myself to endure in regard to my mental well-being. I now recognize how important it is to take care of your mental health. In most cases the state of your mind can manifest physically – resulting in difficulty sleeping, panic attacks, digestive issues, etc. We all experience stressors in life, but how we choose to deal with them may vary. Unless people are aware and accepting of the benefits of therapy, most individuals typically choose to address their burdens with unhealthy coping mechanisms such as emotional eating, self-harm, or substance abuse just to name a few.
I’d like to recognize and praise the clinicians on staff who helped create a safe and informative space for their patients. Their multifaceted approach to treatment helped educate and address our individual needs. During group therapy, I learned/practiced healthier coping skills with other patients to better prepare myself for stressful situations. In individual therapy, my dedicated clinician (Wilfred Montemayor, LSW) helped me uncover and address the traumas in my life that were contributing to my old and harmful ways of managing stress. Lastly, their onsite psychiatrist (Dr. Jeffrey Hall MD) was both knowledgeable and patient when it came to prescribing medications when and if necessary.
I never felt pressured to participate in activities or undergo medication, but I always felt informed and empowered to challenge myself to get better. If you are ever in doubt about seeking mental health treatment, please know that your feelings are valid, and you are not alone. No matter how monstrous your life problems can be, we can all relate to the feelings they instill in us. The professionals of this facility, and even the patients, are here to help you and you owe it to yourself to live your best life!

This is a throwaway account for my own privacy. I did the PHP and IOP program at GenPsych in Livingston after I got out of the hospital. I am indebted to the staff, counselors, and fellow clients. I was at my lowest point and am able to say now that I am the healthiest I've ever been, and it's in part because of this program. One drawback I noticed is that they did have high turnover while I was there and seemed to have a lot of newer counselors who were not as experienced, but the DBT program is something that can be administered by anyone. If you're hesitating about doing this, I'd recommend it.

My therapist, Kayla, was incredible - very relatable and down-to-earth, compassionate and yet still held me accountable. The front desk staff and other DBT session leaders were great too - shout-out to Provi! If you've made it this far into my review and are debating whether or not to try the DBT program: DO IT. Commit, do the homework, participate in the groups, and it will be the first (big) step towards a better life.

SHOUT OUT to the staff here..I have been to many many rehabs, and there is something different about these people, and this place..they are in my opinion, Earth Angels. No judgement, they really just want to help and are good humans! Also, the way they go about treatment, I felt really cared about , from the 1st day. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after..
I can't recommend this place enough. They have no hard chairs that your ass goes numb from sitting in for hours, they have leather, lazy boy chairs, in the entire place, they have a quite room where you can rest if you are detoxing or dont feel good, they feed you great food, they have snacks and sodas and I was literally told "think of this place as your home away from home" and from the clinical staff, the nursing staff, the Dr., they're all special people. xoxoxoxo

And I’m glad I did and Isabel made it easy for me to do so. This is a great place. 💯

I cannot recommend Christina highly enough. She is an incredibly compassionate, skilled, and insightful therapist who creates a safe and supportive space for real growth and healing. From the very first session, I felt truly heard and understood. Christina has a unique ability to ask the right questions, offer meaningful perspectives, and guide me toward clarity in ways that feel empowering rather than overwhelming.
Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care shine through in every interaction. I’ve noticed so many positive changes in my life thanks to her guidance, and I feel more confident, grounded, and hopeful than I have in years. If you are looking for a therapist who is both deeply empathetic and highly effective, Christina is truly exceptional. I leave every session feeling a million times better. She truly tells me what I need to hear instead of what I want to hear, which is something I have never been able to receive through many therapists in the past. I have since loved going to Stress Care and look forward to going to my sessions, instead of feeling like it was a chore.

I had the privilege of interacting with Nursing Director Tisha Ali during a recent visit to RWJ Hospital, and I cannot speak highly enough of her leadership and professionalism. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that her team operated with a high standard of excellence—something that reflects directly on her guidance and dedication.
Tisha Ali brings a rare combination of warmth, compassion, and clinical expertise. She not only ensures that patients receive exceptional care, but she also creates a positive and respectful environment for staff, patients, and families alike. Her presence is reassuring, and she takes time to truly listen and address any concerns with empathy and efficiency.
It’s leaders like Tisha who elevate the entire healthcare experience. RWJ Hospital is fortunate to have her, and so are the patients and families who cross her path.
Highly recommend RWJ because of professionals like her

You must be at least 10 years old to participate in their t | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I can honestly and sincerely say that the intensive outpatient program at High Focus legitimately changed my life.
The science-backed, evidence-based multi-faceted program has provided me with the tools & strategies I need in my day to day life to handle intense emotions as well as process trauma in healthy and adaptive ways through anger management, emotional regulation, DBT, CBT, grounding & mindfulness techniques.
Almost every day I find myself utilizing at least one of the techniques that I was taught at High Focus, whether that is Opposite Action, distress tolerance, STOP, boxed breathing, TIPP, HALT, cope ahead statements, etc. etc.
I have truly grown, changed, improved and bettered myself as a person. The anger, outbursts, explosions, toxicity and inability to properly regulate my emotions have been replaced by properly applying the core principles if what I learned in IOP.
Its not about never making mistakes. Its not about there never being steps backwards. Its about learning from the mistakes, not making the same ones and always talking the steps forward.
I am able to do that now thanks to everything I learned at High Focus and I want to sincerely thank all of the staff there for helping me to do that.
For anyone reading this, please know that it is 1000% possible for you to change your life TODAY. YOU have that power and YOU have that capability. Do not listen to what anyone else has to say -- YOU have the ability to CHANGE as a person. You just have to apply yourself. It's that simple and it's that hard.
If you're considering High Focus, I highly encourage you to make that change today. It honestly changed my life.

High Focus saved my life. When I first walked in, I was struggling with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, guilt, shame, relationship issues, unhealthy coping strategies, trauma, battling with thoughts of giving up and abandonment – honestly, the list goes on. I felt completely lost and was stuck living in survival mode. But with the help of the caring and supportive staff, I was able to uncover strengths I didn’t even know I had, and rediscover the confident, beautiful person beneath all the pain. If you’re feeling lost or unsure where to turn, walking through those doors could change your life. The program works, but you get out of it what you’re willing to put in. Let it work for you. I miss all the staff and amazing friends I’ve met during my journey.
