When he was finally ready to go to rehab a few weeks ago because he was in early stages of kidney & liver failure, I made over 25 calls to try and find him help almost giving up. I picked up a flyer for the C.L.E.A.R. Program from my local Police Department and called the toll free number. I reached Katie W. with Center for Prevention & Counseling in the late hours completely hopeless of finding help for my father. She immediately took over, providing resources, making phone calls, and helping set my mind at ease that we would find a facility. I am so grateful to Katie for all of her help through this difficult journey, she continued to support even after the detox/rehab helping us to find a sober living facility where my father could be transferred to so that he could continue his treatment. It takes just one person to believe and show compassion during a difficult situation and for me that was Katie! I will be forever grateful for her guidance and support!

My experience at Alina Lodge was truly life-changing. When I arrived, I was at one of the lowest points in my life, unsure if recovery was even possible for me. The staff, clinicians, and facilitators welcomed me with compassion, patience, and genuine care. From the very beginning, they created an environment where I felt safe enough to be honest about my struggles and begin the difficult work of recovery.
The clinicians at Alina Lodge are incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated. They helped me understand the underlying causes of my addiction and gave me the tools I needed to start rebuilding my life. The facilitators brought wisdom from their own experiences and guided our groups with empathy and understanding. Every day they showed up committed to helping each of us grow, even when we didn’t believe in ourselves.
Thank you!

I just passed 90 days and I'm confident that I will stay on my recovery journey. And the food in the dining hall is AMAZING. I'm writing this for the creative person who thinks rehab is gonna be all lectures and coping skills worksheets and compliance training...or new agey feel good enabling BS. (because I went through that at another place…and I’m a feisty, rebellious performer, who fell all the way to hell through my addiction.)
Moving Mountains is an adventure based program. And that's not just "fun." that’s a major part of the treatment…hiking, skiing, ropes course…Healthy risks…Movement. self Mastery. Making something…learning that I can DO things that make me feel better…They teach you how to deal with crap on the deepest levels, to get it out. So like…in my case…there is less to want to escape. Easier to stay sober. Joy…peace…fun. Stress: life. Tools
Sobriety doesn't have to be gray and grim. It can light up your brain as much as getting high did. I mean that…kinda literally. Skydiving…for real…if you do the work…it’s part of the program. At completion.
It's not a "creative arts program." BUT: creative work is an option. For me it was a key. A Big key. I had no idea how much my creative shutdown and grief were feeding my addiction…really, almost no idea.
I am a singer. And I saw people transform through singing (like me…), guitar, piano, making beats, DJing, poetry, dance, voice work...even building comedy routines. You could literally see someone's eyes and posture shift over days.
The staff are Actually client centered. At Moving mountains, that means you're treated like a human being. Not a diagnosis and not a compliance project. They help you remember want you want, connect you to your dreams again.
They don't “punish you into right thinking.” That’s still a very common approach, I’ve heard from so many people in recovery meetings.
But there are boundaries and clear expectations...because that's what actually leads to an easier, fun life. I was not the easiest client. I had to learn to be patient and respectful…not just to others. To myself.
It's also not 12 step only preaching club. Super strong recovery culture...but you're allowed to explore what works for you, (there's even a Zen teacher who comes!) The housing is for real beautiful and in beautiful communities. Not "nice for rehab." Actually nice.
It's weird to miss rehab. Like a paradox. But I do. My time at Moving Mountains has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

I can’t say enough good things about Jonathan from Excel . From the moment I started working with him, he made me feel genuinely comfortable and welcomed, which is not easy when you’re dealing with something as personal as addiction. He has a way of creating a safe, judgment-free space where you can actually open up without hesitation.
Jonathan is extremely knowledgeable, and it shows in how he approaches every conversation with care and intention. He doesn’t just listen—he really understands, and he’s very mindful of your feelings and personal experiences. I felt respected and never rushed or dismissed.
Out of all the counselors I’ve worked with in drug and alcohol treatment, Jonathan has been the best by far. His professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail truly set him apart. I’m very grateful for the support he’s given me.

to put it simply: I loved my time at the WGW inn during the course of my treatment, the rooms and bedding were comfortable, the food was good, and there was a lot of activities to do at night if we didn't want to use our devices (which is allowed by the way!), and if we didn't want to stay in the inn, we were able to leave and go out to movies, food, etc, which was a big plus in my book! Only downside to it is that they will wake you up at 7am for groups and will keep coming into your room every 5-10 minutes to make sure you are up, and the techs will stand over you while you take meds, but you get used to it.

I was so lucky to get the help I desperately needed from WaterGap wellness. This is a beautiful relaxing resort. The meals are delicious and nutritious! The rooms are what you would expect at a 5 star 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 resort! My house keeper's name was Rosa, and she was phenomenal! All of the staff was always so helpful with anything I needed and always there if I just needed to talk ❤️ if we needed to talk to a therapist there was always one on call 24 hours a day! We went on walks and were able to catch an Uber to go to stores, the movies, or for a day out on the town. They also transport you to AA meetings if you want to do that!
They transport you to and from group 6 days a week. Group is wonderful and very informative. Group starts at 8:15am with "coffee talk" and it gives everyone a chance to check in. You can talk about any issues you are having and your peers and the therapist will give feedback if you are open to it. There are 6 groups when you first start in PHP. You get to choose your group for the following week with your therapist, there are multiple groups with different objectives going on every hour. If you are in one group and it isn't something you like or its just not something you are interested in, you are welcome to leave and try a different one. You will then step down to IOP5 and groups are Monday- Friday and you get 3 groups a day. Then IOP 4 is the same, but Monday- Thursday, then the last step is IOP 3, Monday- Wednesday. When you complete this, they offer aftercare as well! They also have affordable housing if you need it so you can transition back into the world. They also will help with finding a job if you need it. WaterGap never makes you feel alone or defeated.
You also get to meet with your therapist 2 times a week for one hour, and with your psychiatrist 1 time a week for one hour. If you need them, they are always in the building. There's also many therapists available if you need something and your personal therapist is not available.
I absolutely love this place. Today I am 2 months sober, and I couldn't have done it without the team at WaterGap!!

This was my first time visiting this hospital, and I cannot say enough positive things about the care I received in the ER.
After dealing with a medical issue for the past eight or nine years and feeling unheard by many providers along the way, Dr. O’Neill truly listened to me. She took the time to understand my concerns, provided a possible diagnosis, and pointed me in the right direction with the resources and guidance I needed to finally start getting answers and feeling better.
Thanks to Dr. O’Neill, I am now being treated by another wonderful doctor who also listened to me when others did not. That referral and guidance have made a tremendous difference in my life, and I am incredibly grateful.
I would also like to recognize Nurse Erika M., who was equally compassionate, attentive, and professional. From the moment I was seen in the ER, both Dr. O’Neill and Nurse Erika M. treated me with genuine care, respect, and kindness. They took the time to listen, answer my questions, and make me feel like my concerns truly mattered.
Their professionalism, dedication, and willingness to listen made an impact that I will never forget. After years of searching for answers, I finally felt heard. I will forever be grateful for the care I received and highly recommend this hospital to anyone seeking compassionate, patient-centered care.

As someone who recently left this facility (isn't my actual name), I don't agree with many of the reviews that I've seen. What I saw was a facility truly trying to help those who come in. Staff that would bend-over-backward to try to make people feel comfortable. They have a small staff, and a limited budget, and they go above and beyond places I've been that don't need to say the same. The rooms are clean everyday. The showers are great; let alone "not being able to clean your toothbrush". The place can be chaotic, but what would you call the people coming here in the first place? This isn't a spa; it's a place for sick people to get well, and they do their best to do that. I can't help but think a lot of these reviews are simply angry reviews by regularly angry people. It comes with the territory - we're people struggling. But I appreciate this place and the time I spent here; the staff and the effort they put in. The only credence I'll give is the minimal amount of contact to family had while here, but that doesn't equate to an unsafe environment and the allowance for people to make up whatever stories they want to about the place.
Anyway - to the staff of Hillside; thank you. You did a lot for me in my short time there. You actually pushed me to really think about getting into this line of work - helping people who are struggling as I still am, though improving everyday. Because of people like you, and places like Hillside

The care he received plus the patience with answering questions from my family, myself and explaining all the things he was going to have done was beyond what I expected. When he was moved to the PCU floor, the care continued to impress us. They treated my father like he was their own. Not only informing him of what was happening but what needed to happen. They took care of us all and I couldn’t be more grateful and thankful for them all. Zenia, Danielle, Barbara and Robin plus all of the nurses aids and physical therapy team. I went to the ER this week and was admitted and had a laparoscopic surgery this week, and the experience was fabulous. The hospital is not fancy, but the people who work there were fabulous, the nurses, the doctors, everyone was so wonderful I was overwhelmed by the care and love they gave me. I'm from NYC so I have very high standards for medical care, and this was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Bon Secours if you are in the unfortunate situation of needing medical care.
