Since 1986, Freedom House has served adults battling substance use and co-occurring disorders in Clinton, New Jersey. Phenomenal organization that truly cares about its patients recovery and were so helpful in my daughter's treatment, she is better off now from where she was when she first went in. It was not a perfect experience - there were several miscommunications that detracted from the recovery but their management owned all mistakes and missteps - Bill and Jen were especially forthcoming in this, something I appreciated. Most of the other staff were exemplary in their roles in supporting patients in their journey - want to especially recognize Amber as someone who exemplified the lodge's ideals of compassion and professionalism, she made a difference in my daughter's life.

Its been 3 weeks since I completed the 28 day program on (August 5, 2025) at Alina Lodge . From the moment I arrived (July 8, 2025)I felt comfortable and safe. THIS PLACE NOT ONLY SAVED MY LIFE IT ALSO BROUGHT LIFE BACK TO ME MENTALLY EMOTIONALLY AND PHYSICALLY! The program they have is great and I learned more and more about addiction but even more so about myself. The staff there are great , kind, loving amd compassionate. They are there to help and as long as you ask for that help you will get it . The environment was amazing given the space and time to recover and reflect on each group session. My favorite spot to sit and reflect was in the gazebo close the the river . The food was great each meal was also good and filling. Now at 48 days clean today 8/25/2025 i feel so great my life has improved dramatically! Thanks to the wrok i put it and the structure of Alina Lodge!!! I love you guys and thank you for helping me regain traction in my life I will be forever grateful! -Mike Liaci

My experience at Princeton House was nothing short of incredible. It was my first inpatient experience and the nurses, doctors, and therapists were nothing but attentive and kind. They made me feel welcome and heard. My experience at the PrincetonHouse inpatient mental health program was nothing short of healing. From the moment I arrived, the staff was professional, understanding, patient, and genuinely caring. They took the time to get to know me, supported me in identifying my personal goals, and helped create a plan that felt meaningful and achievable. I suffer from a seizure disorder as well and they ensured my medications were on time which lessoned my anxiety. What stood out most was how collaborative and thorough the care was—my psychiatrist even reached out to my outside treatment team to ensure continuity and consistency in my care, which made a huge difference in my progress. I left feeling more grounded, hopeful, and supported than I ever thought possible. I would highly recommend this program to anyone in need of compassionate and comprehensive mental health care.

I am writing this review because Dr. Mirza made an impact on my sons recovery and helped me in understanding the process. I work in the er and not from here but I did hear alot of repeat pts talk about there experience at Princeton. Finding myself on the other side with my son who started to self medicate himself for depression with street drugs, I turned to Princeton. He was treated as a human being and I was never left feeling unsured. I have the utmost respect for the great work you guys do under those circumstances. Dr.Mirza thankyou for helping us get my son back on track..Not having medcaid has been a challenge but the meds you described have worked and I am paying out of pocket for now but it works. God bless you all and if he ever needed help again, hands down Princeton is the place we will be driving too. A billion thanks Dr. MIRZA AND YOUR WONDERFUL STAFF. Nilda and Richard Farre

Was here many years ago this place was amazing compared to other mommy and me places. Yes some staff not so good but overall this place looking back was the safest I ever felt. The facility more home like than other facilities. At the end of the day wherever you go you take yourself with you. It's up to you what you do with the assistance and help you are provided with. Some woman are not fortunate enough to get into a place like this.

I actually ended up in the program because of a failed test that came up positive for Marijuana Metobolites. I figured I'd be miserable and feel out of place, as I wasn't the 'typical' addiction story. I was put through the wringer, forced into 2-3 weekly meetings and made to do 1-2 drug tests every single week. I was CERTAIN I was gonna lose my mind. Then I ended up in groups with Sarah Frey and Joe Hudson...they were absolute life savers. I ended up learning so much about addiction, personality traits and feelings that all tie into one another. If you come in with an open mind and willing heart you WILL walk away from this with something, no matter your circumstance. Both Sarah and Joe will go above and beyond for you and make everything about your experience more than you ever could have expected.

Center for Discovery Bridgewater, located in Bridgewater, New Jersey is a private alcohol and drug rehab that offers treatment for a variety of substance abuse addictions including co-occurring mental health disorders. At Center for Discovery Bridgewater additional levels of care offered include partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient.
Center for Discovery in Bridgewater is truly one of a kind. From day one, I felt supported by a team that genuinely cares about every single patient’s recovery. Sofia, the program director, has created an environment that is incredibly recovery-focused, not just for one group, but for both adolescents and adults — which is no small feat. The space she and her team have cultivated is compassionate, empowering, and deeply intentional. The staff here are some of the most empathetic, knowledgeable, and compassionate people I’ve ever met. They understand the complexities of recovery and know exactly when to gently push you, when to support you, and how to navigate even the toughest moments. Mealtimes, which can be overwhelming, were made lighter and more approachable because the staff took the time to connect with us — asking questions, starting conversations, and making sure we never felt alone. They always met us with presence and care, whether they were redirecting behaviors, running engaging and educational groups, or just being there when we needed someone. One of the most powerful parts of my experience was realizing that every staff member — even those not directly on my treatment team — were invested in my recovery. That meant the world to me. I was lucky to have Annie and Lesley (and Sofia toward the end of my time), and they helped me realize that I am worthy of recovery. That I deserve to take up space. That my voice matters. Their belief in me came before I could believe in myself, and that made all the difference. They celebrate your wins, but more importantly, they stand by you in your struggles. They make you feel safe, seen, and cared for, while still challenging you to grow and take steps forward. They’re with you every step of the way, and they do everything they can to help you build a strong foundation for life after treatment. If you’re even thinking about getting help — if you’re questioning whether you’re “sick enough” — please consider reaching out to CFD Bridgewater. This place helped me change my life. And it can help you too

Center For Diacovery is amazing. They are kind, caring and extremely knowledgeable. They are sensitive to everyone’s needs not only the patient. They taught us all so much. We are grateful and thankful for the entire staff. We especially enjoyed Family Nights where we would attend workshops with our daughter and other families in the same boat. We ended the night having a huge family dinner. CFD is family!

There are not enough good words to say about the staff and this program! Sofia (program director) has worked really hard to cultivate a healing and recovery focused space for both adults and adolescents (which is not an easy feat!). All of the staff are extremely empathetic, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They navigate the difficulties of recovery in the best way possible from providing support during meals/snacks to redirecting behaviors to leading educational therapeutic and dietary groups. All of the therapists and dietitians deeply care for the patients and work hard on cultivating a good therapeutic relationship so that the patient can achieve their goals. I am so lucky to have found CFD Bridgewater. The staff believed in me before I could believe in myself. They saw that I was worthy of recovery long before I could and worked tirelessly to help me see it. I can genuinely say that I would not be here today if it was not for my incredible treatment (Lesley and Kiersten) and the entire staff at this location. Even though Kayla and Sofia were never my therapists they were invested just as much in my recovery. Annie, although not my dietitian, still supported me and celebrated my wins alongside my therapist. They also strongly encourage involvement of your family/support system by having a family night and family session. They recognize that not everyone might have a supportive family but everyone does have a support system and want to work together with your support system to set you up for success post discharge. If you are even contemplating about seeking treatment, if you have even the slightest question of if you're sick enough or if you have an eating disorder, I highly recommend CFD Bridgewater to help you on this journey. It will be the hardest thing you will do, but will end up being the most rewarding.

This program was tough and just what I needed to do what I had to do to get right and learn how to be a woman of substance. I initially did not want to go because of the 6 months. The great outweigh the frustrations. The staff in the building are capable, competent, compassionate, patient, and truly wonderful! They helped me unlock so much in my recovery, and I left my 30 day treatment feeling like a truly new man. I feel like Im a version of myself that I didn’t know existed. I have such supreme admiration for the boots on the ground: Marguerite, Kelly, Sheets, and Jeff, to the case managers (shoutout Maggie), to the group leaders like Betty, Scott, Nick, Donald, Kevin, Rob, Ben, to the nursing and RSS staff, the cleaning staff, and kitchen staff. They all contributed in saving my life. The frustrations stem from the negligence at the top levels of this company. There were several situations, and altercations that put the patients hygeine, safety, and ultimately, sobriety in jeopardy due to extreme budget cuts. The “interim ceo” peacocks around the hallways, and when directly adressed by patients with issues about patients concerns, he smugly passes the buck and ignores said issues. If it werent for these frustrations, this place could be the gold standard for recovery. For these reasons, I give the staff a 9 out of 5, and the pencil pushers a resounding 0 out of 5.

New Pathway has been the best experience in my recovery. The way the program is run is different than any other iop. The counselors train you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Of course every place has their flaws, however I've never met a staff that truly cared so much for the patients. This isn't a job to them its a way of life. From the techs, to clincial staff, therapist and the higher ups. Nothing during my time there fell on deaf ears. Id advise anyone coming to treatment there to swallow your pride and be open and listen. A brief background of myself, im very opinionated and strong willed so of course I knew everything or at least I thought I did. The staff here really did everything they could to reassure me over and over that I can get better. I just needed to get out of my own way. They were 100% correct. The techs always made me feel like this wasn't a house it was my home. People like Andy, Melanie, Leigh Ann, Amethyst, Jose, Stan and of course my OG Allison have always shown me that mine and my fellow housemates best interest was always top priority. Their stories and generosity is truly inspiring. I never felt judged or unwelcome They really care about each and everyone of us. They may be on the ground floor regarding job titles but they definitely are the foundation that keeps this facitly standing. The clinical staff such as Max, Morgan, Curtis, Michelle, MK, their doors are always open when needed. Whether they're running groups or plugging away in their offices they are always willing to stop and listen in the time of need. They too along with the techs are going to be your biggest cheerleaders towards a better life a sober life. While you will notice vast differences in some of their approaches PLEASE keep your ears open because they all reached me in different ways even though I didn't see the value they offered right away. Collectively, its a excellent group to learn from. While my time with Alex a therapist was limited it was very insightful and gave me a different way to see things that definitely resignated with me. As for my personal therapist Jackie, she was amazing. Her door was always open whether it was to pop in an say hi when I needed to vent or just shoot the breeze. Our sessions together allowed me to open up to a point I never had before. Even during her groups she may come off fun and playful, but there is a method to everything. Last but certainly not least, listen to your peers in those rooms. They come from all different backgrounds, gender, race age etc. They offer true wisdom and real life experiences. I personally never met a sober addict that didn't light up a room. These people will teach you more than you could imagine if youre willing to listen and do the work. Ill leave you with this, all of the above comes from someone who has been to 2 detox, 3 other rehabs, never lasting more than 6 total days. Banyan and their staff and clients made me feel at home while I battled through and not for a second did I ever feel alone while I was there. My goal now is to get my life back and whether it happens or not is upto me and me alone but Banyan gave me the tools I need to have a fighting chance, so thank you. KR

I have worked with Discocery institute for years. I personally referred a dear friend recently and from their outreach team, to their clinical team to their nursing staff, everyone was so compassionate and helpful. Every experience I have ever had with them I left feeling so supported. If you are thinking of going to Discocery or looking into it for someone you love look no further.

I am a volunteer with a nonprofit sober living. A lot of our residents have been to Discovery Institute and maintained sobriety. A common thing I hear them say about Discovery is how cared for they felt. They were treated like humans. Highly recommend.

By far the best place around. If your serious about your recovery, this is the place. It’s not just all about the medication, it’s about the staff as well. My counselor, Sharece T saved my life. She goes above and beyond the call of duty and treats people as an individual, not a group, because we’re all different. She really took the time to get to know me and get to the root of the problem and checks up regularly to see if everything’s going well. I’ve been to many places, doctors, meetings and rehabs. No one has ever understood me better, witch is very important in recovery so you can be treated accordingly. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m extremely grateful and blessed for my counselor Sharece. A huge thanks to this organization and most importantly, my counselor.

I picked this center because of it having all 5 star reviews, and many of them. I am happy to add one more to it! Ownership is amazing, and every staff member gets to know every client on a personal level. The center itself is a wonderful property. My counselor Chris is extremely relatable, knowledgeable, and helpful. Bill makes groups fun and impactful. Angie and Pam bring years of inpatient experience to this outpatient experience. Pam’s art therapy breaks up the weeks with fun activities and Megan’s compassion and insight makes you feel comfortable about opening up. Probably my favorite group of the week is the last one on Fridays where Pastor Jay has everyone on the edge of their seat while roaring with laughter. All this creates an amazing community with the sober living being by far best experience in such I have ever had. PRC is an absolute 10/10!

This is hands down a 5 star facility and program. The entire staff is professional, supportive, and encouraging during your treatment here. I wouldn’t have made it as far as I have without being there. I did the outpatient program but other patients here enjoyed the housing program. There are a range of therapists to choose from and they’re all great. There are different group therapies to sign up for if you’re interested like yoga, raki, etc. Don’t hesitate and sign up to change your life.

I cannot say enough positive things about Brookdale. I ended up there during a very dark time in my life. They picked me up and cared for me. The facility itself is like being at a high end resort. The staff are kind and understanding. They have rules in place for the well being of the clients. I totally enjoyed being without the distraction of my phone and TV. It gave me the chance to work on myself in the peaceful Pocono environment. The staff at Brookdale stay in touch with me to make sure I am doing good and encourage me. I will look at Brookdale as family for the rest of my life.

Brookdale helped to set me up with a great starting foundation in my recovery journey. All members of the staff made themselves available with any questions or concerns I had. The food and living amenities were wonderful. The classes and lectures were informative and geared to many different approaches to sobriety. One of the best parts is the active alumni community that awaits once you leave. You never have to feel as though you are going through this process alone.
