About Cambridge Recovery Sober Living

Cambridge Recovery Sober Living, which is located in Flanders, New Jersey, offers a supportive and structured environment for men who are on their journey of overcoming alcohol or drug addictions. These sober living homes are designed to help you make the transition from where you are now to an independent, sober life.
I like that they have a lot of key features and services, like peer support and community building, to help their residents interact with each other, lift each other up and stay motivated. They can also help you develop your life skills, which includes financial literacy, time management and effective communication. It stood out to me that they also offer transportation and even give you access to participate in recreational sober group activities.

Vocational Support

You can get help with employment and educational assistance. They’ll do resume workshops with you to improve your resume and have it ready for interviews, as well as provide job readiness training.

Therapy for the Family

They offer family therapy that can help you reunify with your family and fix any negative dynamics that you might have with them. The case managers assigned to you can assist with discharge planning and getting things back to normal once you leave the facility. They can even refer you to clinical professionals in the area who can continue the appropriate treatment that you need.

Group Therapy

When you’re in the house, you can attend meetings and group therapy sessions conducted with the residents. Each house has an experienced 12 Step house manager who has been through the program and can be a positive guide for you.

Best sober living in NJ. Really nice, spacious, comfortable home (that’s an actual photo in the profile) in a quiet, safe, classy neighborhood with easy access to main thoroughfares/highways. Residents get relatively more freedom than their peers at other sober homes, but while still getting all the support they want/need. There are rules to follow of course, like regular testing to ensure sobriety, but for the most part it’s not a universal set of restrictions, but rather a unique system of support/care tailored to each individual. The case manager, Abbie, is on site M-F, is a wonderful person, and will literally help you with anything. Also, a great perk is free dinner that you order everyday, included with the reasonably priced rent. Finally, Howard (owner) & the aforementioned Abbie are just incredible people, a delight to be around & get to know, and are genuinely invested in each & every resident’s success in all facets of life. Can’t say enough about this place!

This is a without a doubt one of the better sober living houses in the tri-state area. It is plainly evident that the owner and the house manager have a genuine interest in seeing the residents succeed. They care a lot; and they are actively engaged on a daily basis with residents to help with recovery, day to day living concerns, planning and the transition from addiction back to a happy, whole and functional member of society. They work hard to have the house feel like a community. The house is spacious, clean and well kept. Appliances and furnishing are modern and tidy. The house is on a traditional residential cul-de-sac, which is not a common set up for a sober living. In that regard, the house is not walker-friendly and a car is almost a necessary thing to have to be able to comfortably get around town. The surrounding towns have all the necessities and activities that a person needs, but you can't walk there. Overall, Cambridge is a good stopover on your recovery journey.

It means a lot to hear that our dedication to helping residents succeed and feel part of a community is coming through.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Accreditations

State Licenses are permits issued by government agencies that allow rehab organizations to conduct business legally within a certain geographical area. Typically, the kind of program a rehab facility offers, along with its physical location, determines which licenses are required to operate legally.

I have spent 8 months in this house and I have to say that it's the best around. Not only is the head manager always there to help, but they always care about what you do and how you are doing. They are here to help in any way they can. I love being in this house and wouldn't want to go to any other. It made me want to stay in recovery and not go back to my old life of "Running with the dogs". Thank you for always being there when I need it, no matter how big or small it may seem!

I spent an entire month at the Cambridge house while undergoing Partial Hospitalized Program (PHP) therapy. It was truly a great experience. The home is awesome, well-kept, and taken care of by both Howard as well as Abbie. They truly are both wonderful. The other housemates are respectful and supportive of each other and everyone gets along very well. Everyone was extremely helpful in in supporting me get to where I where I needed to go and accommodated my every ask. If someone is looking for a sober living opportunity, I highly recommend the Cambridge house.

I have been in and out of recovery for many years including sober living facilities. Cambridge Recovery Sober Living far exceeds all of my past experiences. The living environment is very comfortable with all upscale amenities. Howard and Abbie, Owner and House Director, respectively, are extremely supportive and compassionate to my recovery needs ensuring success in my current sobriety. They encourage full participation in meetings and completion of external sober functions which in my case was an Intensive Outpatient Program. Controls are in place to ensure I stay free of substances which would negatively impact my recovery. I will recommend Cambridge Recovery Sober Living to anyone I encounter who is in a situation similar to mine. It is comforting to be in an environment in this stage of my sobriety where I am accountable for my actions and cared for with such professionalism.

Response from the owner

Cambridge Recovery honestly changed my life! Howard is a great guy and very welcoming. For the year that I lived at the house I was always fed well and well cared for in the aspects of receiving my medication. A few months into my stay a wonderful woman by the name Sophia came into the house as the house manager as well as the homes coordinator. Sophia is the BEST, she is a very caring individual you can literally go to her with anything and she will keep it secure which made me super comfortable! Besides the staff the guys are awesome, I met a lot of intelligent men that now i can call family. If you are looking for a sober home for yourself or a loved one this IS the place for you. Thank you Howard and Sophia for the loving environment!

Response from the owner

Cambridge Recovery changed my life. Before entering the house I was absolutely lost, depressed, suicide and an absolute shell of my former self. I had zero copping skills not any direction what so ever, upon entering the house, the house owner Howard immediately began working with me on a new foundation for a completely new life. I began attending meeting daily, seeing a psychiatrist weekly and was employed within a matter of weeks. While at Cambridge, I began to gain the the tools necessary to build the life I wanted to live. I currently have my own apartment, pay my own bills and am 100% financially independent for the first time in my life because of Hoard and Cambridge Recovery. As of yesterday, for the first time in 5 years I received my drivers license and couldn't be happier. My mother and Father sleep again because of Howard and Cambridge Recovery. I would recommend Cambridge Recovery to anyone who is serious about changing their lives. Howard from the bottom of my heart thank you. You were right as long as I keep my recovery first everything else will fall into place.

I do not recommend this place. The owner unlawfully kicked me out of the house and would not reimburse. The owner also uses regularly.
