My young adult son has been in and out of rehabs for years and finally this is the first of so many that truly was a life saver for him and for me as a parent. All the staff want the best for their clients and go above and beyond. Bryce who overseas the program is readily available. His therapist Alyssa is great at her job and truly cares. Kyle his house manager wow he treated my son like a little brother always looking out. When you go to Harbor Wellness they all treat you like family and truly want the best for their clients. Lori Ann Boyle 3 months ago As of today 5/8, I am updating this review to reflect that Harbor Wellness and Recovery Center addressed many of the concerns I originally raised. When my wife was in treatment, our experience was extremely difficult, and at the time I felt strongly that aspects of her care, communication, and overall handling of the situation caused additional emotional stress during an already vulnerable period for our family. I was especially frustrated by what I believed was a lack of accountability in the aftermath. Since posting my original review, Harbor Wellness has taken steps to communicate with us directly, listen to our concerns, and work toward resolving the issues we experienced. While I still believe our initial experience could have been handled differently, I appreciate the effort they have since made to address the situation in a more compassionate and professional manner. (arthritis?) My discomfort also interrupted my sleep. My primary decided to give me am RX for physical therapy. I chose Hackensack Meridian Rehab at Holmdel due to positive reviews and also it's very close to my home. You will not be disappointed! Alyson and Jen both listened to my concerns and evaluated and set up a treatment plan. They were very professional, kind and informative! I received a printout of exercises on the very first day! Next I worked with Tracey who continued my exercises and corrected me on my form when needed. She challenged me when I progressed. She answered all my questions! She also was professional, kind and informative! By the third therapy, I barely had any pain at all! Also, the entire staff were warm and welcoming to everyone! You felt at home and that they really cared! (they do!) Every one of them! Including all the Front Desk Receptionists, one whose name is Angela. My evaluation of how I progressed was done by Chris. Again, knowledgeable, professional and kind! As long as I do my exercises, I do not have any pain anymore! Please encourage your patients to continue with their exercises at home. If I become "lazy" and stop, the pain creeps back in. Please consider going to Hackensack Meridian Rehab at Holmdel for your therapy. I am certain you will have the positive experience I received! I sustained an injury that required surgery and kept me work. From the beginning, the entire team was focused not only on helping me heal, but on getting me strong and confident enough to return to working in a busy ER. Jim was an incredible physical therapist and created a plan truly customized to me, my recovery, and the physical demands of my job. I didn't know what to expect I flew from Fayetteville , north carolina and was picked up from the airport by one of the exceptional techs KAMAR Someone I never met before, but you wouldn't know it from our conversation. I told him I was hungry because they wouldn't let the plane land right away he Informed me not to worry that they had food for me as soon as we get to the facility. After I ate, I went to get a quick check-up.And I was soon meet by another tech and was taken to detox on the 3rd floor , he showed me my room , rm 6 and then took me out for a fresh air break , and then it was time for bed. The next morning, I was moved to the 2nd floor for rehab where I met some of the other staff members Amira, Tom ,Lori, who became my case manager, Regina, Dawn and Heber, to name a few, these people made my stay really pleasant I could go to them for anythig and as for the exceptional tecs Al Danett Destiny CHARLIE and little bit. No judgement, they really just want to help and are good humans! Also, the way they go about treatment, I felt really cared about , from the 1st day. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after.. I can't recommend this place enough. Lastly when things are brought in to security it shouldn't take a full day to get it to you. Update from week ago when Dr. Matilla talked to me about my moms condition. He was polite and and explained to me my moms condition so I could understand it in laymans terms. Some doctors do give off an impression of arrogance, but not this one. With 1 percent of hope god can and will do something for you if you recognize it. I have been Robert Woods Cheerleader sitting on the sidelines as they get to hard work everyday. I need to thank more of the parking attendants and valet. Next on the to do list. I see them sitting guarding the garage overnight sonetimes when i leave early or get something from my car. Honorable mention needs to go to Nurse Adam who first attended to my mom in the ER. He is a wonderful person who used to worked in the peace corps but now has a calling as very humble dignified nurse. Update: This is starting to feel like I am documenting the life of a nurse, tech, or hospital worker as I am here every day to see my mother. Sam is the nurse on duty and she seems nice enough…Robert wood has all kinds of nurses that perform all kinds of duties. Sam is one of the float nurses. As I go to grab my regular coffee in the refreshment room, I noticed Julie the day shift nurse is still here two hours past shift change…its labor day for gods sake! Laboring two hours past your shift on a holiday and of all days! Then, I bump into Nurse Martha and Nurse Nick as they both make it a point to ask me how my mothers condition is as they genuinely care about the status of her condition. Update: Tye and Brenda are night shift nurses that did not attend to my mother but they were pleasant conversation in the downtime of the night. They are there when you need them even if it is just for unit questions or to past the time away when I am visiting my mother. Nurse Sam and tech Maddie are polite and answer all my questions and are kind as can be. They do there normal duties without a hitch as my moms condition is steadily improving. Staff receptionist Maria greeted me with a pleasant demeanor and gave me another pass when I forgot my keys since I had already thrown away my other away on the way out. Update: Nurse Arian has got to be one of the most detail oriented and plesant nurses I have met so far. All the RNs are nice, but she really gives off positive and kind vibes moreso than any other nurse or tech. Update: Nurse Brady is attending to my mother. He is a male nurse and I especially respect male nurses and techs. Brady has been very pleasant asking me if I need anything. Nurse Deandra, Nurse Joyce and Tech Brenda are doing their duties and as always asking the status of my mothers condition and refilling low stock in the room of supplies. First off Liz S. always greets me with a smile and always makes me feel welcome when I am visiting my mom for stage 4 lung cancer. Nurse Tatiana, Cabelli, and Marla, and nurses Melina, Nick, Eugina, Jeremey,LJ and Sylvia, Mecca, Felicia, Miggie,Thelma and tech Gabriel, tech Kiki, tech Nicole, Maddie, and tech Emanuel and Rollinsky and Rhea and tech Shy and also security officer Joshua S. And receptionist Robin Y. I apologize if I do not remember other nurses and healthcare workers on the floor but every single nurse and staff and tech were always working so hard to keep my mother and other patients on the floor as alive as possible. On top of it all, I hear that they might have discovered a vaccine that destroys cancer from Moderna and I am just floored. I do not know healthcare so this is the best I know how to help Robert Wood and Gods miracle workers. I especially enjoy meeting the male techs and nurses as they are doing wonders for reputation of men everywhere. I could learn a thing or two from them and so could others of my gender. Doctors and nurses are the true heroes on earth. The least I could do is help bring attention to the tough and often times stressful work of healthcare workers. Thank you Robert Wood…and for those that are suffering from cancer or have loved ones going through cancer please google Cancer Vaccine, it will give you alot of hope! Update: My mom is still trying to get through her infection and Eeg specialist Rahman is hard at work. I also finally found out the department that Dr. Meng who recently did a procedure that helped clear my mothers infection. He is a doctor from pulmonology. I do not want to take away from other patients at the hospital but, what I can say is if you wait and hang in there if you have cancer, I am pretty darn certain the cancer vaccine will fix you. It is in the works already for 10 different cancers but it could be coming in 2027 for mylenoma. I pray to god for all patients at the hospital because it works. I just know and it used to be blind faith but now it is real faith that is visible in the compassion of the hospital and its staff, also the asian guy who rings up my meal from the cafeteria and the guy behind the counter with the delicious ziti. (I do not know their names) They all contribute to the overall positive compassionate atmosphere. I also know I am not the most charismatic person around, but God the creator cares about your intentions not your vanity so I feel compelled to continue to mention all the light workers and blue collar workers I encounter at Robert Wood. God the creator empowered me to do this. I thank god the creator and that is all I will say anymore about religion or politics. That is all I will delve into about those topics. Update: Officer Jay kindly directed me to 5 north when my mother first stayed here. I could not find it. and Dawn, and Anna are so nice at the front desk. Nurse Lakisha has been asking about my mom all the time making sure she is feeling well and Nurse Colleen has had a rough day and well thats all to common for the life of a nurse, doctor, tech or healthcare worker. Patricia in the light blue scrubs who was brought in from a different floor of the hospital had such a pleasant demeanor while answering phones. As humble as they are, she told me she does not work on 5 North, but I told her it does not matter because all the healthcare workers deserve recognition. In addition, Nurse Katelyn was passing by and I had not had the chance to mention her in this review, but I see her working while I am here and they are always tired and exhausted. I feel like all the staff deserve more respect considering this is probably one of the busiest hospitals in nj. Once there, it took a bit to be paired with a therapist who I was really able to relate with. That said, my therapist has been a great Blessing, and really cares. After asking a few well pointed questions, I found out that they have a job placement service as well. The person I've been paired with genuinely cares as well, and is trying her damndest to find me a job where my skillset and knowledge would be best used. I'm very Blessed to be in such good hands. john locklin jr 1 month ago I went to bright harbor healthcare for years for my daughter ( I go there for myself also and I love my therapist) however her experience was sub par and I have some HUGE reservations with her last therapist especially because she tried to talk my daughter into taking HRT behind my my back which she didn’t even want them. I took them out and switched her to preferred and now she sees Megan and WOW she is doing so much better she’s so much more communicative and open her behavior has drastically changed and I feel like I’ve got my child back. I recommend them to anyone that sees that their child is going through a rough time. I was having a problem with getting my right amount of bottles and I wrote a grievance. Then a counselor from the back that heard my problem came out and began speaking to me. Her name was Elaughn Davis-Lance. She immediately went to the back, spoke to the doctors and got me double the amount of bottles I usually get for the inconveniences of not being able to get to work! Without her and doctor cadet, I would have had a lot worse problems and wouldn’t have handled the situation correctly.
