When my wife was in treatment, our experience was extremely difficult, and at the time I felt strongly that aspects of her care, communication, and overall handling of the situation caused additional emotional stress during an already vulnerable period for our family. I was especially frustrated by what I believed was a lack of accountability in the aftermath. Since posting my original review, Harbor Wellness has taken steps to communicate with us directly, listen to our concerns, and work toward resolving the issues we experienced. While I still believe our initial experience could have been handled differently, I appreciate the effort they have since made to address the situation in a more compassionate and professional manner. Because of those efforts, I felt it was important to update this review to reflect a more balanced and positive perspective. A 2 months ago As of today 5/8, I am updating this review to reflect that Harbor Wellness and Recovery Center has addressed many of the concerns I originally raised. When I was receiving treatment, I had a difficult experience and felt that aspects of my care did not meet the level of support and professionalism I expected during recovery. At the time, I regretted placing my trust in the program and felt strongly that others should proceed with caution. Since then, Harbor Wellness has made an effort to listen to my concerns, communicate with me directly, and work toward addressing the issues I experienced. While I still believe certain parts of my experience could have been handled differently, I appreciate the steps that have since been taken to show greater accountability and compassion. V 2 months ago This place literally saved my life, after 9 rehabs this was the one that actually made me change. Literally every single staff member showed concern and gave me crucial advice that I needed to hear to better myself and finally stay sober. They have a great vetting process so you'll almost never meet a client who sucks, PHP was a great time even if a bit draining, and IOP was fantastic, all the techs, Landon, Travis, Zach, Mo (Hope you do well in Jerusalem!), Fahim, Antoine, Eli, Phil, Darryl were all fantastic and a key part of my recovery. Weekly grocery trips and catered lunch at the clinic made sure I never went hungry, transportation to 12 step meetings was appreciated. Allen was an absolutely fantastic therapist to have, but all the therapists: Tess, Bella, Megan, Curtis, Caitlyn, Andrew, and Allen are all fantastic and really help break down issues & education in a way that's noninvasive and actually helpful. The facilitators who aren't solo therapists Chris and Ervin are all wonderful and kind. The other staff members who make it all work in the background: Chuck, Kevin, Celeste, Jahila, and Kevin were very helpful and always around. While I don't know all the women's house techs, the ones I did interact with, Rea and Alexis were fun and full of wisdom. And finally, shout-out to Kelce and Jeff for handling all the administrative mumbo jumbo that let's the clinic and housing run smoothly. And Brandon, the maintenance guy, you are an elite asset and it was wonderful knowing you. If I ever relapse, which I hope I won't, this would be the rehab I'd want to come back to. No judgement, they really just want to help and are good humans! Also, the way they go about treatment, I felt really cared about , from the 1st day. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after.. I can't recommend this place enough. Before him at stress care, I was disrespected if I talked, had Drs not even look up at me or hear anything from me, just tried pushing medications that only made things alot worse! I was having a problem with getting my right amount of bottles and I wrote a grievance. Then a counselor from the back that heard my problem came out and began speaking to me. Her name was Elaughn Davis-Lance. She immediately went to the back, spoke to the doctors and got me double the amount of bottles I usually get for the inconveniences of not being able to get to work! Without her and doctor cadet, I would have had a lot worse problems and wouldn’t have handled the situation correctly.
