The office receptionist, Provy, is a queen and a kind, friendly face who instantly makes you feel safe and the security guard, Max, is a gem as well. The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is a facility located in New York, New York. Here, they specialize in treating adults of all genders who are struggling with co-occurring disorders and substance use disorder. The level of care they provide here is intensive outpatient (IOP) that’s available both online and in person. The other services provided | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Over the past few years, Hazelden Betty Ford has been a steady anchor in my recovery. The counselors are top notch and, more importantly, genuinely caring—they listen without judgment, remember the details, and offer practical, real-world guidance.
Group sizes are small and manageable, so you actually get personal attention. The vibe among patients is supportive and motivated. Most folks are there because they want to be, and that makes a huge difference.
I’ve participated in IOP, outpatient groups, individual therapy, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed work. The DBT class, in particular, was a life changer—the skills are concrete and I use them every day.
Over my time at Hazelden, I’ve gained tools to rebuild routines, reduce cravings, improve relationships, and maintain sobriety. Insurance/billing was smooth and handled thoughtfully, which removed a lot of stress. I’m deeply grateful for the compassion and structure here—five stars without hesitation.

Investigation needs to be done at integrity house. My son was there for Mental Health. The 1st day there he called me to tell me the rules of the house. I don't know the name of the guard or person that let him use the phone ,but when my son asked the question how can my family get in touch with me if there is an emergency he was belittle and yelled at . Remind you my son signed himself in to integrity house thinking that they were going to help him ,this is not the case . The only thing that is done there are meetings after meetings in group a big waste of time . So getting back to him getting belittled (and I heard this ). I asked him what is going on there? So my son on the phone with me started to whisper he said Mom this place is bad .So I called Christine (the person that said this place was the right place for him)and told her what had happened. She said I personally will go and see the employee and then tell the person running the house. Nothing got done. Next the food there shouldn't be given even to animals.Nothing to drink but water . When you go to your room at night you cannot
take anything with you . Bathroom everybody uses I small bathroom. TV room can't walk around tiny. This place is bad . Thank God m

‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

I don’t even know where to begin with my experience at this facility, and I could make a soliloquy of their disservice to me personally but if I were to read a Google review about an intensive outpatient program for myself or a loved one struggling with addiction and mental health, I would want to know a couple key things 1) how are the groups and counselors 2) will this place accommodate my schedule of work, family & 12 step meetings or therapy 3) will my medication be filled in a timely and appropriate manner 4) and most importantly, I would want to know if I (as the addict) or someone I love would be seen as being more than just an addict or someone with mental health.
I can genuinely say that none of these things were achieved for me or many I have learned that have gone there. The groups are monotonous and hard to sit through. The counselors are harsh and seem scared of being insubordinate and losing employment at the expense of advocating for their clients. In addition, they have very little knowledge of the clients that they are working with. The clinical director is very inexperienced and out of touch with addiction and mental health treatment.
TCC in Fair Lawn will do nothing to accommodate schedules or mental health diagnosis due to “compliance” issues that seem to be redefined every week. Even if you have a long and documented history of needing some kind of accommodation or have a busy work schedule as I do. Medication seems to be filled when they see fit. And I did not once feel like a human being while I was there. I felt like an insurance check that was not being heard.
It disgusts me that places like this exist and take it from an expert, if you have the insurance to do it, go to Bluecrest or NJRC or any other Counseling Center because the Counseling Center at Fair Lawn executes practices that are unethical and should be illegal. Going there was one of the worst decisions I’ve made in recovery and I will not speak for others, but I’ve heard that rhetoric all around Bergen County. I would listen to the reviews that are already posted here or mine.

⚠️THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT SENDING YOUR CHILD HERE!!! THIS PLACE IS ABUSIVE. The director of this treatment center called my food choices crazy. The therapist told me my body type. They leave a scale out all the time for anyone to step on. Not at all an appropriate setting for an eating disorder facility. The staff would complain about running the therapy groups and would constantly sigh when it was their turn. Many patients have to leave the facility to be hospitalized because the treatment is just not good enough. They don’t even have licensed therapists running most of the groups.. They throw on way too much responsibility on the children by having them cook their meals. The staff did not supervise well enough at the meals in the slightest. Patients throw out their meals without the staff even knowing because they don’t pay attention. DO NOT GO HERE. THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING WHEN THEY PUT CHILDRENS LIVES IN DANGER. GO TO OVERLOOK CENTER!! SO MUCH BETTER!! IM ACTUALLY RECOVORING THERE AND IT HAS AN 80 PERCENT SUCCESS RATE! MUCH MORE SUPPORTIVE STAFF, SAFE ENVIORNMENT, AND AN AMAZING MEDICAL TEAM.
