What I found was a program with real depth, the kind that only comes from a facility that has been doing this seriously for over ten years. The clinicians are trained at a high level, the care felt genuinely individualized, and the day-to-day had enough structure to keep things moving without feeling suffocating. First off Liz S. always greets me with a smile and always makes me feel welcome when I am visiting my mom for stage 4 lung cancer. Nurse Tatiana, Cabelli, and Marla, and nurses Melina, Nick, Eugina, Jeremey,LJ and Sylvia, Mecca, Felicia, Miggie,Thelma and tech Gabriel, tech Kiki, tech Nicole, Maddie, and tech Emanuel and Rollinsky and Rhea and tech Shy and also security officer Joshua S. And receptionist Robin Y. I apologize if I do not remember other nurses and healthcare workers on the floor but every single nurse and staff and tech were always working so hard to keep my mother and other patients on the floor as alive as possible. On top of it all, I hear that they might have discovered a vaccine that destroys cancer from Moderna and I am just floored. I do not know healthcare so this is the best I know how to help Robert Wood and Gods miracle workers. I especially enjoy meeting the male techs and nurses as they are doing wonders for reputation of men everywhere. I could learn a thing or two from them and so could others of my gender. Doctors and nurses are the true heroes on earth. The least I could do is help bring attention to the tough and often times stressful work of healthcare workers. Thank you Robert Wood…and for those that are suffering from cancer or have loved ones going through cancer please google Cancer Vaccine, it will give you alot of hope! Update: My mom is still trying to get through her infection and Eeg specialist Rahman is hard at work. I also finally found out the department that Dr. Meng who recently did a procedure that helped clear my mothers infection. He is a doctor from pulmonology. I do not want to take away from other patients at the hospital but, what I can say is if you wait and hang in there if you have cancer, I am pretty darn certain the cancer vaccine will fix you. It is in the works already for 10 different cancers but it could be coming in 2027 for mylenoma. I pray to god for all patients at the hospital because it works. I just know and it used to be blind faith but now it is real faith that is visible in the compassion of the hospital and its staff, also the asian guy who rings up my meal from the cafeteria and the guy behind the counter with the delicious ziti. (I do not know their names) They all contribute to the overall positive compassionate atmosphere. I also know I am not the most charismatic person around, but God the creator cares about your intentions not your vanity so I feel compelled to continue to mention all the light workers and blue collar workers I encounter at Robert Wood. God the creator empowered me to do this. I thank god the creator and that is all I will say anymore about religion or politics. That is all I will delve into about those topics. Update: Officer Jay kindly directed me to 5 north when my mother first stayed here. I could not find it. and Dawn, and Anna are so nice at the front desk. Nurse Lakisha has been asking about my mom all the time making sure she is feeling well and Nurse Colleen has had a rough day and well thats all to common for the life of a nurse, doctor, tech or healthcare worker. Tough work, but not enough recognition. Update August 31, 2026. Patricia in the light blue scrubs who was brought in from a different floor of the hospital had such a pleasant demeanor while answering phones. As humble as they are, she told me she does not work on 5 North, but I told her it does not matter because all the healthcare workers deserve recognition. In addition, Nurse Katelyn was passing by and I had not had the chance to mention her in this review, but I see her working while I am here and they are always tired and exhausted. I feel like all the staff deserve more respect considering this is probably one of the busiest hospitals in nj. Update: it is not as chaotic during the night time, so I had the chance to thank Nurse Joyce the first nurse to receive my mom on 5 north. Your kindness, compassion, support, humor, and genuine care made more of a difference than you probably realize. I was also incredibly lucky to have an amazing group of “roommates” during my time there. We came in as strangers, but I left considering these people family. The connections I made and the support we gave each other are something I’ll carry with me long after leaving SOBA. This place was truly life-changing for me. It helped me look at myself, my past, and my future from a completely different perspective. I came in unsure about the 12 steps, but eventually I surrendered to the process. I rewrote and interpreted them in a way that fits my own life and beliefs, and somewhere along the way, I became a believer that this process really can work. I walked into SOBA needing help, and I walked out with hope, a new perspective, people I now consider family, and the belief that a different life is actually possible. On 8/26, I’ll officially be one month sober, and I couldn’t have gotten this far without the people who helped me take those first steps. This is a good facility for MAT (medication assisted treatment) as well as helpful groups, peer recovery, helpful staff, and many patients that befriend & help each other. They have case workers that can help with social services and provide resources, for patients that need further assistance (i.e. homelessness, daily living assistance, etc). There is a great medical staff for dosing, therapy, psychiatric, and other medical concerns. The facility has many ways to assist with costs (i.e. private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Govt funding, etc), always ask for assistance; they have helped so many patients that couldn't afford recovery. They can also assist with external resources for medical transportation; however, this may depend on insurance. Recovery is a daily battle, sometimes it can take a long time to get there. The people who work here save lives by the hour. Everyone is kind, understanding, and there are no judgements. While my initial concern about the facility environment remains, I have been doing virtual therapy sessions with AJ every two weeks for my child, and the experience has been excellent. AJ is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and has been wonderful to work with. My child has made great progress, and the support and guidance we have received have been very helpful. The quality of care and professionalism during our virtual sessions have exceeded my expectations. Although I still prefer not to bring my child to the office in person, I am very grateful for the services we have received through telehealth. The staff was actually very nice and the intake therapist was great. However, I don’t think this is an appropriate place for children. The building smelled like weed and the environment didn’t feel suitable for pediatric care. I wouldn’t bring a child here for developmental or ADHD-related evaluations. Again, the staff was awesome!! I’ve been to other therapy related locations with different kinds of therapists, but none could hold a candle to this fine gentleman. Although my issues stems from abusive mistreatment from childhood, marriage, and trauma suffered from a severe automobile accident, at age 58, I believe he has devised a workable plan, broken down into segments, to begin a journey of recovery I would not have fathomed otherwise. That in itself was an answered prayer accompanied by the blessing of confidence and anxiety relief. I look forward to the journey with him and feeling the new me he can provide through the program. One thing I am most grateful for is the environment and community that grew my positive energy. Everyone from my APN, Dee, my therapist, Michael who I have learned so much from. Jose, my case manager who has always went above and beyond to facilitate any other needs I had. And for Melvin who always was a leader and ready with a smile and positivity. I always felt comfortable and connected. It was always easy for everyone and myself yo be able to engage in group settings and that is a credit to the vibe and energy of each one of the therapists who ran each session. I could hardly walk, speak, move. I’m in the Atlantic health system so it’s very documented, even though my prior hospitalizations weren’t in Morristown. I was placed in a hallway and my phone was taken (I wasn’t on it, just texting…is this legal?) and was treated like a drug seeking criminal. I had to AMA myself and swiftly got pulled over by Morristown PD pulling out, which was fun. I followed up with the hospital and they said they “don’t take patients phones” but that was a flat out lie. I ended up driving to Valley in Paramus the next morning. Fast forward a few months later I had an awful attack and also had pneumonia. I was in the icu for three weeks, luckily my mom brought me in (I’m 38) so for some reason I was taken seriously this time. I had two other pancreatitis attacks since then, both resulting in 2-5 day stays and the nurses and staff were caring and wonderful. I take these reviews like any “business” with a grain of salt because you don’t know who you are getting that day. I had an awful experience and the next two were decent. Maybe it was the doctor in the ER that night with a bias because many pancreatic problems are linked to alcohol? I have no idea. Wonderful nurses though.
