The therapists there are incredible - Julie, Charlotte, Mike, Kayla, Eric are all fantastic, incredible people who have changed so many lives including my own. They truly care. The office receptionist, Provy, is a queen and a kind, friendly face who instantly makes you feel safe and the security guard, Max, is a gem as well. It is such a great, loving place and it is what you make it. The DBT program saved my life - it is hard, but give yourself up to it. :)

This is a throwaway account for my own privacy. I did the PHP and IOP program at GenPsych in Livingston after I got out of the hospital. I am indebted to the staff, counselors, and fellow clients. I was at my lowest point and am able to say now that I am the healthiest I've ever been, and it's in part because of this program. One drawback I noticed is that they did have high turnover while I was there and seemed to have a lot of newer counselors who were not as experienced, but the DBT program is something that can be administered by anyone. If you're hesitating about doing this, I'd recommend it.

So I attended the intensive outpatient DBT program here for several months, and it was a challenging, emotional and also wonderful, rewarding experience. My therapist, Kayla, was incredible - very relatable and down-to-earth, compassionate and yet still held me accountable. The front desk staff and other DBT session leaders were great too - shout-out to Provi! If you've made it this far into my review and are debating whether or not to try the DBT program: DO IT. Commit, do the homework, participate in the groups, and it will be the first (big) step towards a better life.

Many of my specialists have moved their practices to Cooperman Barnabus hospital. It's a refreshing change, as someone who uses a wheelchair, to be met by the valet who offer assistance in assisting in taking the chair from my trunk without feeling rushed. Being welcomed by friendly staff at reception, offering not only directions but assistance if needed. The support staff makes visiting a healthcare facility less stressful with their welcoming supportive demeanor.

My 13yo child required a very specific environment to address their challenges - flexible, compassionate, affirming, nurturing, and patient. We'd cycled through several other programs without success. I didn't learn abut the existence of Embark's Livingston facility until I was in the process of considering residential programs. I was so relieved to learn of another option and even more relieved when we toured the facilities and met the staff. The building is full of light and color. The staff are welcoming, kind, and incredibly communicative with parents. I was incredibly impressed with the therapists and psychiatrist. My child finally felt heard and seen. While each child and their journey is unique, I am so grateful to have found Embark.

If you're looking for a behavioral health center that truly prioritizes personalized care, Embark is the best choice in North Jersey. Their therapists and staff connect with individuals on a deeper level, ensuring that every client receives the support they need in a way that works best for them.
What sets Embark apart is its commitment to individualized therapy. Children benefit from more one-on-one sessions than at most other facilities which helps their progress. Beyond personal therapy, Embark also provides strong family involvement and psychiatric support, creating a well-rounded approach.
The environment at Embark is warm, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to each person’s well-being. Their expertise, compassion, and commitment to individualized care make them the best in the region. Highly recommended!
