Residents get relatively more freedom than their peers at other sober homes, but while still getting all the support they want/need. There are rules to follow of course, like regular testing to ensure sobriety, but for the most part it’s not a universal set of restrictions, but rather a unique system of support/care tailored to each individual. The case manager is on site M-F, and they and the owner are just incredible people, a delight to be around & get to know, and are genuinely invested in each & every resident’s success in all facets of life.

I have been here since October 17, 2025 and my experience has been very good since I first got here. The house is very clean and helps to have cleaning service every other week. I was only planning on stay in for 2 months but now I don't have plans to leave anytime soon.
I have lived in a halfway in Del Ray Beach, F.L. a sober cowboy ranch in Washington State, Oxford Houses including one in Rumson, NJ and this is my favorite sober living so far.
It also helps to have a good crew of men that I currently live with. Having two TV rooms, high-end kitchen, high-end W/D, and being tucked away on a side street of nice neighborhood make this experience a worthwhile one during my early recovery.

My experience at Cambridge Recovery has been exceptional. The house as a whole flows and there’s just a good energy about the place, it’s clean, relaxing, nice beds, and a safe place in a nice quiet neighborhood. Cambridge Recovery Sober Living is beautiful, it’s a step above traditional sober living environments. The individuals who live at Cambridge want to be sober and change their lives for the positive, that was a huge decided factor for why I chose this house. Big shoutout to Abbie and Howard for the opportunity to embark on this new sobriety journey of mine and their ongoing support and guidance during this transition period of my life. Thank you for all that you do and helping me when I was broken lost and needed guidance. I’ll certainly be paying it forward. If you want to be sober surrounded around a bunch of guys chasing the same goal, this is the place you want to be.
Thank you 🙏

Serenity at Summit provided my son with exceptional care from the moment we made the first call. I was relieved that my insurance was accepted, but even more relieved when my son was assigned to his counselor, Sean. From the very beginning, I felt confident that my son was in the right place and working with the right person.
Sean kept me informed of every major development, whether positive or challenging. He communicated clearly, consistently, and with genuine concern for my son’s well being. When my son wanted to give up, which happened more than once, it was Sean’s dedication, patience, and steady guidance that kept him grounded. He supported my son through some very difficult moments and helped him stay committed to the program when he felt like walking away.
What impressed me most was that Sean never pushed my son to make decisions for anyone else not for me, not for him, not for the program. Instead, he helped my son understand that recovery only works when you choose it for yourself. That shift in mindset was transformative, and it happened because Sean knew how to reach him, speak to him, and guide him without judgment.
It is rare to find someone with this level of compassion and dedication for people they do not know personally. Sean’s own experience and journey make him a powerful example of what is possible. You cannot teach that kind of empathy. It comes from lived experience, resilience, and a genuine desire to help others out of the same darkness he fought his way through.
In my opinion, Sean is nothing short of a blessing for individuals and families facing the challenges of addiction. My son stayed, listened, and moved forward because of the support he received, and for that I am deeply grateful. Serenity at Summit is fortunate to have him, and so were we.

Barryville, NY | Located in Barryville, New York, you’ll find the charming New Hope Manor. They are a substance stabilization and drug rehab center for women living in the area who are suffering from substance misuse disorders. This is primarily a residential center, although they do offer medically supervised withdrawal services for mild to moderate symptoms. T | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I completed here in 7 months and that’s probably the earliest completion time that is given, they say 6-9 months but it will take 30 days to discharge you after you’ve been approved. I’m just going to say one thing that may be viewed as negative but it’s really just about your mindset. This facility really doesn’t like to just let you go, even if you’ve spent a full 6-9 months and did the work, stayed out of trouble. I personally see this as them being cautious about keeping us safe rather than a financial thing which everyone will always argue.
The staff members who are not working directly on our treatment, like the “techs” which are just called clinical support, they are very well liked. It seems that because they are around us far more than the counselors, they understand us better and you can just know that they care about us a lot because seeing us day in and day out for almost a year, they get to know you, trust is developed.
Holidays here are the most extraordinary celebrations any rehab has put together. Not just the winter holidays, every single holiday is celebrated. There were constant events going on, this really created a bonding in the community.
Groups are individually chosen, there are many different groups going at the same time and the group changed go by semesters which are ever three months, you sit and pick which groups you would like to be in. I really enjoyed this and some of the groups were fantastic. They throw in things like philosophy, self defense, etc. as if we are taking a college class so it’s not all about addiction treatment.
No cell phone and limited phone calls. No cigarettes. You only leave to go to doctor appointments. If you are someone who has tried and failed, tried and failed and need help. PLEASE GIVE NEW HOPE MANOR A SHOT. I will always say that my stay here was the most significant part of my life in the 32 years I’ve been alive. I’m all about self discovery, it’s my purpose in life and NHM gave me so much self discovery.
I want to personally thank Matt, who’s genuine care about each of us was made very apparent by always being available to talk and how much he loved to make us laugh. I honestly couldn’t wait to spend my free time after lunch just chatting in the computer room, i know everyone felt that way which is why everyone was always there. Matt takes his job seriously like really seriously and when he took a vacation, the whole place malfunctioned for a couple days but most of all, we couldnt wait til he came back. This is all genuinely true and that just speaks for itself how much of an impact Matt has made on the women.

I just finished 7 months at New Hope Manor and I’m so happy! I am a new person, no longer committing murder to myself via alcohol, opioids and cigarettes. The Angelic guidance of my counselor Amanda who always had the utmost patience and care for me has helped set me free of the self destructive, depressing life I had before I was blessed enough to find New Hope. Amanda gently guided me into having a life I never thought I could achieve. Also Anand, my therapist, helped me so much it’s unreal. He had a way of showing me how to show myself why I self sabotaged and how to fix me. He is an amazing man so gentle , soulful, intuitive, positive and encouraging.
Both he and Amanda showed me how and why to forgive myself and how to stop living in shame.
I never felt so cared for and understood by anybody like I did from the whole gifted staff at New Hope. Not just for me but for all the other clients living there as well. It amazed me to witness the patience and understanding which was shown even to the most difficult client.
The groups (classes) were so well thought out to help bring about a transformation worthy of the hard work they asked. I loved learning all about life, and addiction (it’s never to late) and why and how a sober and peaceful life was mine if I wanted it badly enough.
I could never ever thank the amazing staff at New Hope for my New life.
Everyone on the staff; whether they were personally assigned to me or not was always there for us which meant so much to me which I’m sure they didn’t realize how much it meant.
Even Joe who ran the kitchen showed so much love preparing our meals. The 3 meals a day plus snacks was above and beyond what you’d expect. Just saying, delicious! Joe is an amazing man. I am so grateful for getting to know him and learn why he understood all of us and why he cared so much.
I can go on and on with praise for New Hope. I’m not saying they are perfect. Who is? However I can say they do listen to the women there. I figured out early on that when I didn’t agree with their methods there was a good reason for those methods.
I know God bought me to New Hope. I was never in rehab before and had no idea what to expect. I did know I couldn’t go on self murdering myself the way I was. I do know I never expected to heal the way I did. I also know I will continue to work on my sobriety outside NH and I know they are with me for the rest of my life. ❤️

I was at New Hope Manor in 2009 and if you had asked me back then I probably would have sounded like some of these reviews, lol. The truth is those mean nuns dedicated their entire life to helping us get sober, and helping us keep our kids and I am eternally grateful for the lessons I learned there. I’m still in touch with some of my new hope sisters and we all agree we would go back in a heart beat. Back then I felt cheated at the holidays, now I realize they taught us what the holidays were really about, I could go on and on. Great program, life saving, for real!

This hospital's greatest strength is its comforting, chapel-like atmosphere. Beyond the medical team, the genuine consideration shown by the staff truly stands out. This high level of service made me feel more like a guest at a luxury hotel than a patient. The most memorable moment of kindness came from an employee taking out the trash, who greeted me with an incredibly warm and gentle smile.
However, I was disappointed to see people smoking in the outdoor areas, such as while waiting for valet or walking to the parking lot, with no one intervening.

I have been coming to Stress Care for several years now and at first it was a little rocky but about six months ago I was assigned to Christina. I cannot recommend Christina highly enough. She is an incredibly compassionate, skilled, and insightful therapist who creates a safe and supportive space for real growth and healing. If you are looking for a therapist who is both deeply empathetic and highly effective, Christina is truly exceptional. I leave every session feeling a million times better. She truly tells me what I need to hear instead of what I want to hear, which is something I have never been able to receive through many therapists in the past. I have since loved going to Stress Care and look forward to going to my sessions, instead of feeling like it was a chore.

I am and will forever be so grateful to this place and its staff. I feel I’ve learned so much about myself and now have a good awareness of why I’ve felt the way I have my whole life, so irritable and disconnected from the world. Big thank you to all the staff, Tamara, Ms. Mayling, Bryant, Dwayne, Tim, Ms Keisha, Isabella, Patrick, The Dave’s, Ms.Q, Gus, Vince, Dawn, all have the interns, everybody there helped me more then they will ever know by teaching me how to get honest and open minded to a new way of life. Turning point as well as life in general is what you make of it, I’ve been fighting with drug addiction for 20yrs and could never understand why no matter how successful I would get on the outside I would always turn back to drugs in the end. I finally came to understand that for me it had to be addressed on the inside, I had to open up about everything I’ve ever been through whether I thought it was relevant or not to my addiction. I’m so grateful that I’ve finally surrendered to this process, learned how to accept my past, help, and that this is a life long process that is well worth the effort. If you are suffering from addiction please try and stay open minded, turning point is a great facility it you want to learn how to begin to change your life

I was having a problem with getting my right amount of bottles and I wrote a grievance. Then a counselor from the back that heard my problem came out and began speaking to me. Her name was Elaughn Davis-Lance. She immediately went to the back, spoke to the doctors and got me double the amount of bottles I usually get for the inconveniences of not being able to get to work! Without her and doctor cadet, I would have had a lot worse problems and wouldn’t have handled the situation correctly. Thanks to her and the dock everything is a lot better and that day started off negative and turned positive. Thank you for all your help guys.

New York City, NY | The New York Center for Living is dedicated to one purpose; helping young people and their families work through the web of problems caused by the use and abuse of addictive substances, both legal and illegal. New York Center for Living integrates conventional and complementary therapeutic services to provide a holistic, individualized environment | Treatments Programs Payment Options | NYCFL helped me rebuild my life. I had been through other programs in NYC and New Jersey before, but this was the first place that really saw me as a whole person—not just a diagnosis. The groups were real, the staff genuinely cared, and for the first time, I felt like I wasn't being judged for my choices. Therapy here wasn’t just about talking; we painted, we did yoga, we went to improv - I connected with people who I had so much empathy for which in turn allowed me to have empathy for myself. I’m now over two years sober, I've held down a job for over a year and a half, my family is proud of me and I'm actually excited about my future.
