Also after being told for years I can’t handle 99% of work/ more then few hours a week n should be on welfare rest of my life I said I was so miserable sick of being dirt poor they told me work as many hours I get like I used to n it feels good having bread something to keep me busy n not do bad n everything else got better. From the day I arrived, the clinical team treated me like a person, not a case. The therapists were skilled, compassionate, and used approaches that actually matched what I needed. The residential house was beautiful the program was structured but never rigid—there was real space for individual work, group process, and learning how to live differently. The staff created a safe, respectful environment where it felt possible to be honest. What sets this place apart for me is the aftercare. A lot of programs do a good job while you’re there and then leave you on your own. Here, the transition was thoughtful and continuous. They helped me build a realistic plan, connected me with ongoing support, and stayed available. The alumni/aftercare community has been one of the most valuable parts of my recovery—consistent check-ins, practical guidance, and people who actually understand the long game. I’m not going to pretend recovery is easy or that any facility is perfect.
