I went to see Dr. Barker because of depression and suicidal thoughts, that was coupled with my career not going anywhere. He was attentive and gave me strategies to work through thoughts and emotions. He also was communicating during the session (I've had therapists in the past that just say nothing). I love that he challenged my own logic with his own and really pushed me out of my normal spiraling and catastrophizing. 100% would recommend to anyone.

The great outweigh the frustrations.
The staff in the building are capable, competent, compassionate, patient, and truly wonderful! They helped me unlock so much in my recovery, and I left my 30 day treatment feeling like a truly new man. I feel like Im a version of myself that I didn’t know existed. I have such supreme admiration for the boots on the ground: Marguerite, Kelly, Sheets, and Jeff, to the case managers (shoutout Maggie), to the group leaders like Betty, Scott, Nick, Donald, Kevin, Rob, Ben, to the nursing and RSS staff, the cleaning staff, and kitchen staff. They all contributed in saving my life.
The frustrations stem from the negligence at the top levels of this company. There were several situations, and altercations that put the patients hygeine, safety, and ultimately, sobriety in jeopardy due to extreme budget cuts. The “interim ceo” peacocks around the hallways, and when directly adressed by patients with issues about patients concerns, he smugly passes the buck and ignores said issues. If it werent for these frustrations, this place could be the gold standard for recovery.
For these reasons, I give the staff a 9 out of 5, and the pencil pushers a resounding 0 out of 5.

New Pathway has been the best experience in my recovery. The way the program is run is different than any other iop. The counselors train you physically, mentally, and emotionally. My wife and I had concerns seeing a lot of mixed reviews both on Google and Reddit but we just had our baby boy here and had an amazing experience. Every single staff we interacted with, and especially the nurses/peds doctors in both the L&D unit and the postpartum unit were very kind, caring, and willing to educate/help us with our newborn while still being respectful of our preferences. We're thankful for everyone who went above and beyond to make the whole process a bit more comfortable and pleasant for us!

Director was EXTREMELY condescending and demeaning. When I was crying on my first day, she pulled me into the office and asked "do you have any friends?". I cried " I did when I was younger but they faded away". She replied in the most sarcastic tone, " oh, well maybe they didn't want to follow the paleo diet".
Also, yes the staff is mostly interns who seriously don't know anything about treating these conditions. They are not helpful, compassionate or caring at all. If you don't finish your entire meal a certain number of times, they just ship you off to residential. Staff is extremely tyrannical.
The meals are soooo unhealthy. Get ready to be forced to eat enourmous amounts of sugar ( flavored yogurts, magnum ice cream, oreos, cookies, sugary apple sauce, gatorade, etc.), lots of hydrogenated oils, white breads, and the list goes on. Having an autoimmune disease, my needs were not met and had constant reactions. This "treatment" gave me PTSD.

Renfrew in Paramus, NJ has been spectacularly helpful in my recovery from a 25 year eating disorder. Every staff member is respectful, empathetic, and insightful. I felt welcome from the moment I walked through the doors. And, the assistance began with my first contact with Renfrew personnel. I immediately knew I had chosen the right place for my recovery. Sunrise cherry hill was a godsend. The nurse Sydney is absolutely the sweetest person you'll ever meet. I went there over a year ago and and she remembered me and made sure my stay there was comfortable. Unfortunately I've stayed at quite a few other facilities and NEVER was treated with such respect and kindness that she treated me with. She deserves a raise lol!
On the other hand..I made a very good friend in my time staying there..we kept in touch and we were both struggling. I was trying to be a good girlfriend and put my own health aside waiting waiting for him. I now know know that I need further assistance than just detox . He's not even. Being a decent human being/and/or being nice about it. I tried called the Sterling location 5 times where my friend is. She told me there is in IN FACT beds available but the person on the phone wasnt so friendly..almost demeaning. He said "just because there's beds available doesn't mean there's beds available". I was very confused...almost like he didn't want to help me save my life. And he was just annoyed to be answering the phone. He told me over and over in an annoyed and stern voice as I was in tears to call back at 9am. Im just lucky im not someone who is WAY more fragile and sensitive amd nothing terrible happened 🥺

My Mom was brought there with an aneurysm at the end of October, and even though she didn't make it, I would like to say thank you to every person there. From Doctor to Nurse to orderly or any other employee walking in the hallway that was polite, helpful, informative, you really helped our transition be a little less painful. I forget her name, but the therapist/counselor that talked to us as we were waiting for the worst was truly good at her job. She helped us see things in perspective and calm out nerves. I spent 30 days there counselor were helpful in my recovery. RCA brought outside recovery for us which was a big help. I have been sober ever since I left 2 1/2 years ago.

I don't understand the negative reviews for this place. We found getting registered and placed with someone easy and accommodating. Kelly is AMAZING! I have not had positive experiences in the past with therapists, but she is the absolute best. She's "real," she listens, she is amazing at planning a session but also pivoting if necessary. I can't say enough good things about her!

I had the best experience ever at Summit Overlook Labor and Delivery! All of the doctors and nurses were incredibly supportive, kind, and full of great advice. My baby was born on 10/27, and the entire experience was amazing. During delivery, the nurses were cheering me on, it was such an empowering moment surrounded by strong, encouraging women.
Later, when I had a tough evening with my newborn, the nurses were right there for me teaching me how to latch, showing me the 5 “S’s,” staying up with me as I rocked her to sleep, and even making me an ice pack. I’m just overwhelmed with gratitude and so pleased with how the entire team treated me. I can’t thank them enough!

This clinic isn't perfect by any means, but it is better than any other one I've ever been on. They give you the "cherry" syrup methadone instead of the b.s. water kind, they don't force you to do i.o.p. or groups or anything like that. And the line is usually not too bad all things considered. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants the help. Also, they offer a lot of help with other aspects of your life including employment and mental health services, as well as helping you with getting your foodstamps or medicaid turned on if you need that. Haven't met any staff member there that hasn't gone above and beyond for me to help with every issue that has come up.
UPDATE: so I've been on and off this program like 4 or 5 times. On it now. And of course since the last time I was there which was about 2 years ago there is only one or two of the same staff there. Big turnover rate. But seems like alot of less people on the program or maybe more people getting take home bottles because there is never a line when I go. And they don't allow anyone to "hangout" for like 4 blocks in any direction to prevent the b.s. that goes on outside every clinic in America. I gotta say it's still the best spot I've been to and I've been on at least 5 different ones in ny and nj

I've been to several methadone clinics and Greenwich House is by far the best. Staff is very friendly, accommodating, and professional. If you're looking for a methadone clinic go here, dont waste your time anywhere else. I was medicated on the first day. They dont force you to go to groups. The counselors are very helpful and they have on site medical and mental health services.
Update!
Today, 7/17/23, was my last day at Greenwich House. A few months ago I had been on 210 mg of methadone for about 4 years and decided it was time to get off. So I began to taper down relatively fast dropping 10 mg per week. When I got to 20 mg I slowed down to 5 mg decreases per week. Anyway, when I got down to 5 mg I decided to go down to 2 mg and that was today. I got my weeks worth of 2 mg bottles and when they're gone I'll be totally off methadone. I did this with no withdrawal symptoms or cravings. And I have not touched dope since I began the program on 4/27/19. I'm so proud of myself and this is a total success story. There is such a stigma about methadone. People say it's like "liquid handcuffs" or that it controls your life and it's impossible to get off and it's just replacing one drug with another, but I'm proof that none of that is true. Methadone saved my life and when I felt I didn't need it anymore I got off, simple as that. I would like to thank my counselor Sophia and Marlene from the medical department for both always being so supportive and accommodating. They genuinely care about all of their patients and deserve mentioning although all the staff is very caring, helpful and professional. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are struggling with addiction. They WILL help you.

This program changed my life for the better. I found myself in the position of needing a higher level of care but didn’t know where to turn. Luckily, I had help and support in finding High Focus Parsippany. The program is structured very well. I can honestly say that between the individual sessions and the group sessions, I learned so many new coping skills and so much more about how to better myself. All the employees are so caring and genuinely want to see you get better. I learned a lot from other participants in the program as well. Andrew is the absolute best. He validated, yet challenged me, better than any therapist ever has. He helped me in ways that will continue to have a positive impact on me, for the rest of my life. Excellent program! The connections I made with all the clinicians/interns in only a few months was amazing, and helped me progress to where I am today (Special shout out to my clinician, Andrew, for making sure I'm okay always and helping me through some tough times!) The new building is beautiful, lots of light and windows as opposed to the old center. Thank you, Sylvia, for making me laugh at the times I wanted to cry, humor is much needed. Our tween recently completed the PHP program at High Focus Centers in Parsippany, and we felt compelled to share what truly sets this program apart. While the clinical care was strong for our son, the hidden gem of this program is the weekly Family Group counseling sessions for parents!
Facilitated by John, who cares deeply about the well-being of the parents as much as the teens, these virtual sessions have been an invaluable lifeline. They create a safe, supportive space where families can share, listen, and learn from each other.
