Kim and John are the best. This place helps with drug addiction, homelessness, runs groups including AA and NA groups, has summer barbecues on the holidays, goes on trips, has Halloween and Thanksgiving parties for those who have no place to go during the holidays, goes on trips, runs self help groups, has a food pantry and a clothing drive, does arts and crafts, has a free printer and fax machine, has free Wawa food on Thurs and Fri. And much more. The staff is very friendly and the building is very clean. I luv this place. I definitely recommend it to ppl who are struggling. My therapist Ashley was amazing, all the behavior techs were great they really care about their clients and their well being. My case manager Melvin made things extremely easy helping me take time off from work while I was in treatment. Their support staff, therapists and ancillary providers all rallied around me. I was supported, encouraged and never felt forced. My time here unfolded organically. What to expect- you can expect a large time commitment when you first come for treatment. Multiple group therapy sessions, individual therapy sessions and also the possibility of working with wellness coaches and nutrition support. Recovery will feel like your second job. There aren’t enough words for me to explain the ways that Pinelands saved my life. The program itself showed me recovery is possible, how to achieve it, how to keep & how beautiful life can be. Kyle, Mallory & Eric are the absolute best at what they do! Everyone at Pinelands had a hand in saving my life & making my sobriety not just possible but an amazing new way of life! Bonnie Petty 2 weeks ago I feel more comfortable staying “anonymous,” but I want to be open and honest about my experience I had. First, I cannot speak highly enough about my therapist, Steph Kinney. She is genuinely one of the best therapists I’ve ever worked with. 🥹❤️ She advocated for me, supported me, and consistently showed up for me throughout my stay. I truly would not be where I am today without her. I also feel incredibly grateful for the recovery coaches, Kyle, Mallory, the great alumni coordinator Eric. 🥰 They all brought so much compassion, encouragement, and genuine support to my recovery. Steph, Kyle, Mallory, and Eric are people I will always remember. Unfortunately, medication management and communication with certain nursing staff seriously need improvement. Withdrawal and tapering should be individualized because every patient responds differently. There’s literally only one nurse that cares and her name is Carol. All the other ones don’t know what they’re doing and also give you attitude and roll their eyes consistently… very welcoming for 28-30 days!!!! During my stay, I went nearly six to seven days with essentially no sleep while experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, vomiting throughout the day, and requiring multiple ER visits. Despite this, I was still expected to attend every group and meeting, which I did. I genuinely question why someone experiencing severe withdrawal, extreme sleep deprivation, constant vomiting, and recent ER treatment would still be expected to attend every single group as if nothing was happening. There is a difference between encouraging accountability and recognizing when someone is medically struggling and needs appropriate care and rest. The nursing stuff also when my mom called completely disregarded her message telling her that I was doing fine without even checking in with me because they saw me leave my room one time, This already gave the suspicion to my mom that this was sketchy… (2nd ER Visit) Thankfully, after my concerns were escalated to higher management, they were eventually addressed and resolved. The overnight room checks also desperately need improvement. Extremely bright LED flashlights were frequently shined into the rooms and toward patients’ faces, even when we were clearly asleep and breathing. This continued throughout my full 30-day stay, not just detox. Between that and doors constantly slamming throughout the night, getting even 15-20 mins of sleep was near impossible. 👎 this is kind of sad to say, but if I knew that this was going to be the case, I would’ve had a better opportunity just relapsing at the leave of my own bed without Dookie stains.. Outside of those issues, I truly had a meaningful experience and met people who changed my life. Steph, Kyle, and Mallory, thank you for helping me find purpose again and reminding me that there was still so much worth moving forward for. ❤️ I will always be grateful for your support. Overall, I would give my experience 4/5 stars. There are some incredible people working here, but the medical management, communication, and overnight environment need significant improvement. I started out here on methadone, then left and came back on suboxine and now go there for the brixadi shot. All of the staff are so nice, easy to talk to and supportive. All the staff was wonderful. I want to highlight the following people from each department because without the staff here I would have not exceled. In Client Care, Melanie and Jack took a vested interest in my recovery journey from start to finish. In nursing, Susan and Sierra were so sweet and were always there when I needed someone to listen and assisted me with anything I needed regarding my medication. Medical staff, Cindy was by far one of the best provider's I have ever met in a treatment setting. She was patient with me, addressed all my concerns and did not push any medication on me which was very much appreciated. Sabriya was an amazing recreational therapist and she found creative ways to bring me out of my shell and was always there when I needed someone to talk to. As far as facilitators, John and Michelle were absolutely top tier. The behavioral techs were amazing at the Haven. Bridget was wise beyond here years and became one of my main sounding boards during second shift. I also want to mention Angie, Tim, Cheena, and Zaahir who were instrumental in my recovery. I want to give a separate shout out to Amethyst who started working for the Haven during my stay. I was able to see her quickly adapt in her new role and how passionate she is to assist others, I can tell she has a drive for this and will most defiantly succeed. Last but certainly not least I want to recognize Rosie. She was the one who completed my intake. From our first interaction she promised my I was safe and she would be with me the whole way. Not only did she keep her promise but any time I panicked or had any concerns she was right there by my side. Even on her days off she checked in on me and let me know she was thinking of me and how I was doing in this brand new community. It's because of the dedication of these people and all the other staff that I was able to not only complete my treatment but also feel prepared and ready to tackle the real world, moving here to Jersey for a new start. I love this place more than anything and i couldn’t imagine being happier at a place, i hate that things worked out the way they did for the time being but im really pushing through the hell of this just to get back there & not let people affect me or make me uncomfortable because that’s nothing compared to Val’s treatment & the way they really support you there. I didn’t even expect to be going to a sober house because you rarely find any that truly care but this one so does. i wouldn’t recommend any other but just stay in your own lane & you can’t really do social media there, that was so i misunderstood & i don’t want anyone else to run into that communication process the way i did. Haley who works at the front desk is the most sweetest, helpful, caring staff member I've ever had the pleasure of working with in regards to my sobriety and staff at a facility. She is always open and honest l. She's never guided me in the wrong direction. Honestly she works so hard in taking care of us clients and what we need that sometimes it feels like I'm not doing enough for my own recovery. If you're nervous about taking the next step in your recovery as I was never have been to a PHP before. She makes sure that it's a smooth transition. Honestly the only way you could think Haley or the rest of the staff isn't doing enough for you is if you're so lazy and aren't really serious about your recovery that you just expect everyone to do everything for you. I. That case you may need a higher level of care. Because I've never been so excited and felt like I had the help I need in my recovery as I do in sober solutions and working with Haley. I was admitted to Jefferson Hospital suffering from severe alcohol withdrawal syndrome, borderline experiencing auditory hallucinations. I was also suffering from gait abnormality and balance and coordination issues so they transferred me to Wyndmoor Hills for Physical therapy and once I'm discharged well before I'm discharged, I'll pick a rehab facility for inpatient treatment.Wish me luck. The facility is cozy and kept very clean. There is a smart tv in every room as well as in the lounge/common area which is set up like a living room. I found the groups helpful. There are 3 hour long groups you can attend but don’t have to and either an AA or NA speakers that comes every night for an hour long meeting. I liked that Sunrise is a smaller facility, having room for about 20 patients. This made it easier to open up and share. You are able to go outside for fresh air or to smoke anytime except during group time. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Sunrise Detox. Thank you to all the staff! You all are amazing!! Never been to detox before but the people who work there actually care about you and want you to get better. It only works if you are ready though. The food was amazing everyday, the counselors are there to help you, and the doctors/nurses want what’s best for you. I will 100% be going back there one day to speak to the patients to show them that recovery is possible. They also help you with finding resources after being discharged.
