The great outweigh the frustrations.
The staff in the building are capable, competent, compassionate, patient, and truly wonderful! They helped me unlock so much in my recovery, and I left my 30 day treatment feeling like a truly new man. I feel like Im a version of myself that I didn’t know existed. I have such supreme admiration for the boots on the ground: Marguerite, Kelly, Sheets, and Jeff, to the case managers (shoutout Maggie), to the group leaders like Betty, Scott, Nick, Donald, Kevin, Rob, Ben, to the nursing and RSS staff, the cleaning staff, and kitchen staff. They all contributed in saving my life.
The frustrations stem from the negligence at the top levels of this company. There were several situations, and altercations that put the patients hygeine, safety, and ultimately, sobriety in jeopardy due to extreme budget cuts. The “interim ceo” peacocks around the hallways, and when directly adressed by patients with issues about patients concerns, he smugly passes the buck and ignores said issues. If it werent for these frustrations, this place could be the gold standard for recovery.
For these reasons, I give the staff a 9 out of 5, and the pencil pushers a resounding 0 out of 5.

By far the best place around. If your serious about your recovery, this is the place. It’s not just all about the medication, it’s about the staff as well. My counselor, Sharece T saved my life. She goes above and beyond the call of duty and treats people as an individual, not a group, because we’re all different. She really took the time to get to know me and get to the root of the problem and checks up regularly to see if everything’s going well. I’ve been to many places, doctors, meetings and rehabs. No one has ever understood me better, witch is very important in recovery so you can be treated accordingly. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I’m extremely grateful and blessed for my counselor Sharece. A huge thanks to this organization and most importantly, my counselor.

My experience so far has been nothing short of amazing! I came from a program called Milestone Addiction Treatment center and let me tell you, this place is a breath of fresh air. All of clinical is super friendly, welcoming, as well as punctual and very professional. They make sure to accommodate all your needs such as toiletries, supplies, etc. Melissa, who works at the front desk, is the best. My very first day here she took me in and showed me the ropes and introduced me to some people to make me feel at home. All of the techs are super friendly and will make sure you are a part of the community. Also the facilitators are awesome and taught me more about recovery and addiction in a week than Milestone taught me in 4 months. I could not be more grateful to be a part of this program and a part of his wonderful community of beautiful human beings. Thank you Legacy!!!

Places like this need to recognize red flags, my little sister was being held here at 18 against her will. for months she has tried to get into contact with numerous family members to come get her so she can sign herself out. This place isn’t letting her family get her out because when they hear word that she’s getting someone to pick her up they reach out to her emotionally abusive “parents” then all communication is cut and she is unable to reach us for help. she is an adult, and can make her own decisions. it is clear that she has been emotionally and mentally manipulated and abused, and this place doesn’t care!!! she is being held like a prisoner, and NOT getting the help she needs. This is disgusting, and any therapist they have on site is a joke. They do not care about the people here or their well being. My little sister should NOT be held prisoner, she has been emotionally abused for years and all this place did was enable it further!!!! she’s 18 if she wants to be signed out she is a legal adult and should be able to sign herself out. IT’S HER CHOICE!!!! This place should report signs of abuse NOT enable it, this is supposed to be a HELPFUL place and clearly, it is not. seek help elsewhere do NOT go here.

I can’t say enough to convey how wonderful this Hospital is , it’s the STAFF that made the experience a wow ! The hospital has been there for 150 years and could use some updates but the old adage you Can’t judge a book by its cover is true . I loved the two therapists that I had and currently love the one I have now. I’ve only ever had one bad psychiatrist and I get a new one every year. I feel okay because the staffs had helped me when I was struggling with so much anxiety and depression. I like how I have a conversation with the staffs when I really to let it out and journal. This review is overdue and important, for me to share how great an experience we had receiving mental health treatment and support for my son at Gracie Square Hospital. The entire staff throughout the facility especially on the fourth floor unit are very professional and kind. My son is doing so much better. Having a family member who is experiencing mental health challenges can be very frightening and overwhelming, taking them to the right place makes a world of difference. I was extremely hesitant to send my daughter to Gracie Square after reading many negative reviews, but our experience was truly a 10 out of 10.
Security was exceptional. They were professional, respectful, and made us feel comfortable immediately. Her social worker, Sylvie, was incredibly thorough with discharge planning and kept me informed every step of the way. Her nurse practitioner, Katherine, was compassionate, attentive, and genuinely invested in my daughter’s well-being.
Both providers listened to my concerns at a time when I felt no one else was listening, and that meant more than I can express. Their support and responsiveness helped us feel safe and understood during a very stressful moment.
The nurses in the unit were incredibly kind. When I called at night to check on my daughter, they were always polite, patient, and reassuring.
One important suggestion for anyone writing reviews: please mention the unit you or your loved one was on. I believe Gracie Square has four different units, and reviews often don’t specify which one they refer to. It makes it difficult to understand the context of each experience because the units can vary. My daughter was on the 4th floor unit
I am truly grateful for the care my daughter received, and I believe the staff on her unit deserve to be recognized.

This is the third company I've used. The 1st 2 were awful - if anything, they worsened my situation.
This place is exactly what I needed.
Everyone is easy to get a hold of and they do what they're supposed to do - help.
Christen at the front desk is great - she takes care of a lot by herself.
If she's unable to help, she let's my counselor know ASAP.

I was nervous going in, but everyone I interacted with was very helpful and compassionate. Going inpatient is not something anyone wants, but if you need it, this is a great place to help you get back on your feet. It can get a bit boring, but the staff from the techs to the nurses to the doctors all care about what your going through and helping you get better.

90% of the therapists care about their patients the therapist I have is excellent I really love her I could talk about anything and she don't judge me when I first went there I didn't really care for the receptionist cuz she always had an attitude and thought she was better than the patients there is nobody's better than anybody but that persons not there no more and the 2 reception that are there are very kind and respectful to the patients that are in the waiting room and I want to also comment about somebody's comment saying that the bathroom is disgusting and she wouldn't even let her dog piss in it the bathrooms are not disgusting it might be a little tiny but they not disgusting so I don't know what she calls disgusting but there NOT

I had breast cancer and open heart surgery and nerophy,I was very much addicted to percocet and I was taking 2 many to hep pain cancer hurts .then I would go threw withdrawls, well I was told about the saboxen and addiction clinic ,I was put on saboxen for withdrawls, well I know feal great no more percocets ,I am so thankfull I went there.

I was in the shelter for two years and a half could not find an apt . They gave me an apt with pots pans kitchen table bed dresser for my daughters room the really helped me so much for a new start I thank God for these people.

Edit: i went back out of desperation and anxiety. Lawrence is the best, he took me in and took care of me through whole process. That day was appointment only but he still helped so i am grateful
I went to the office and another nearby and both offices did not offer testing. This is very disappointing. I would recommend calling before walking in. I am truly upset considering my circumstances mental health wise. I should mention they said to come tommorow put that's is not the point. I would like this place to live up to its vision and mission.
