East Coast Recovery is amazing! It’s amazing because the people that work there are incredible and they care very much about seeing clients succeed. I initially planned on being at East Coast on a week to week basis, not knowing how it was going to be before I got there. The service I received and the help I got far exceeded all of my expectations. I ended up staying for over three months. I moved on from East Coast Recovery center feeling confident and ready to fully participate in a life of recovery from substance use.

I give them five stars because I am diabetic and they on it like definitely on it. The only thing I don’t like is back to back appointments. I do not receive Medicaid and this is out come from my pockets so financially it hurts a little bit but as for the doctors, they perfectly great great, the only thing I said is back to back appointment for the same thing with different doctors but other than that, they absolutely great

Do not send your kids here, there was one great therapist there doing all the work. My daughter did not receive proper treatment nor guidance. The director of the facility and most of the staffing is unequipped to support proper treatment. The Schooling program cannot follow the school guided work to have your child be successful. I'm sorry we ever gave this place a chance. When things get tough all the director wants to do is quickly remove from program. These programs are designed to support kids with the highest level of support for their needs.

So I attended the intensive outpatient DBT program here for several months, and it was a challenging, emotional and also wonderful, rewarding experience. My therapist, Kayla, was incredible - very relatable and down-to-earth, compassionate and yet still held me accountable. The front desk staff and other DBT session leaders were great too - shout-out to Provi! If you've made it this far into my review and are debating whether or not to try the DBT program: DO IT. Commit, do the homework, participate in the groups, and it will be the first (big) step towards a better life.

I’ve participated in IOP, outpatient groups, individual therapy, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed work. The DBT class, in particular, was a life changer—the skills are concrete and I use them every day.
Over my time at Hazelden, I’ve gained tools to rebuild routines, reduce cravings, improve relationships, and maintain sobriety. ‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

I used to go to the lower east side service center. It is a great program it help me get clean. ... no problem .. I have my own place and I'm no longer a slave to drugs and what it put me through drugs suck ... the people there helped me gain inner strength to kick the drug habbit and lead a better life .

Grateful for High Focus—18 years sober and counting.
High Focus was my introduction to the 12-step program back in 2003 when I attended IOP. I’m grateful for all I learned there—it set the foundation for my recovery. When I graduated, I received a High Focus keychain, which I still have today.
I’m now approaching 19 years of continuous sobriety, and I credit High Focus for giving me the tools to begin this journey. What you teach truly stays with us, and I pray everyone finds recovery sooner rather than later.

TERRIBLE PLACE. do not send ur teens here. For the substance abuse program they just get introduced to more drugs and get more options for drug dealers. For the mental health program, different types of problems get placed in the same groups and is impossible to actually get help in what u need. For example my daughter had anger management problems but the other few kids has Self harm and suicidal problems. She was depressed being there because of all the things she was hearing from the other kids. She would get asked everyday 20 minutes of questions like "when's the last time u cut yourself" "when's the last time u attempted suicide" she didn't struggle with any of these things but was being surrounded by it. The clinician she had was an absolute joke. My daughter asked if she could be done with the program bc it was taking away important time at school and missing out on friends, the clician said she HAS to be there for atleast 16 more weeks. My daughter was upset and started tearing up and slightly crying. She said "see this is why your here, i don't cry when IM mad" Please don't go here no matter what positive comments say. There's more negative then positive and the bad outweighs the minor positives. All they want is money.

I have been attending New Pathway for several months and feel better than I have in years. I should add that I have been to other treatment facilities that demanded laborious 3 hour group sessions multiple times a week that often left me more stressed out.
Treatment of substance abuse disorders mainly address social, psychological, and spiritual aspects, often ignoring the physical aspect. I have found that most treatment, including 12-step programs, do not address the BODY connection to healthy mind and spirit.
The modality of recovery at New Pathway is the most comprehensive. I have found many of the resources available in this program to be the most helpful of the various treatment plans available for recovery. From group counseling to work outs, meditation and yoga, tai chi and spiritual groups, this place offers a broad spectrum of services for cultivating health and well being. The staff actually care about their patients.

Stay away from this place. Staff is poorly trained, place is dirty, and it’s more of a gym than a treatment center. You are required to work out which you have to pay for, kind of like a gym membership fee. Staff is very unprofessional because they are always dressed in workout clothes. They no nothing about addiction except what they got out of a text book because the whole staff is strait out of college or maybe still in college. Do not waste your time with this place, you will get nothing out of it. They just bill your insurance and make money for piss poor treatment.

Better late than never!
I was a patient here 13 years ago, and still clean to this day. I am currently attending school to become an addiction counselor, and I couldn’t help but think about my out patient counselor from so many years ago :) This process was by far not easy, but I just had to come here and give high praise to my counselor Jim. I don’t know if he is still there but he was amazing and saved my life. He was kind and patient and relatable… the three things we all really need when getting ourselves and our lives back together during a difficult time. Thank you Jim, words can never express how grateful I am for you.
