Princeton, New Jersey | The Living Room at Princeton is a substance use treatment facility designed to support adults and adolescents. The Princeton, New Jersey, center also treats clients experiencing mental health conditions that frequently accompany substance addiction. They accept some health insurance plans and will help with the verification process. Welcoming Atmos | Treatments Programs Payment Options | The Living Room in Princeton, New Jersey has truly been a life-changing part of my recovery journey. Walking through those doors for the first time, I didn’t know what to expect—but what I found was a space filled with warmth, understanding, and genuine support. It’s more than a program or a facility; it feels like a community built on compassion and real connection.
The staff treat you like a whole person—not a diagnosis, not a problem to fix, but someone worthy of hope and healing. They listen without judgment, they encourage without pressure, and they create an environment where you can grow at your own pace. Every conversation, every session, every small moment inside that place helped me rebuild parts of myself I thought were gone.
The Living Room gave me tools, clarity, and peace, but more than that, it gave me the confidence to believe in my own recovery again. I’m truly grateful for the time I’ve spent there, and I can honestly say my life is different because of it.
If anyone is struggling and looking for a safe, uplifting space, I can’t recommend The Living Room enough. It has been a blessing in my journey—and I know it can be for others too.

Vicki is one of those rare souls you meet in recovery who genuinely change the direction of your life. She was the house mom during my stay, but she showed up as so much more than that. She was caring, present, consistent, and loving in a way that made me feel safe enough to grow.
Her conversations with me weren’t just “talks” they were moments that grounded me, challenged me, and reminded me of who I really am. I’m still sober today in large part because of the guidance, compassion, and honesty she gave me during some of the hardest moments of my life.
She doesn’t clock in and out; she truly shows up for people. Anyone who gets the chance to be supported by Vicki is in the best possible hands. I’m endlessly grateful for her unconditional love and support

My experience at the PrincetonHouse inpatient mental health program was nothing short of healing. From the moment I arrived, the staff was professional, understanding, patient, and genuinely caring. They took the time to get to know me, supported me in identifying my personal goals, and helped create a plan that felt meaningful and achievable. I suffer from a seizure disorder as well and they ensured my medications were on time which lessoned my anxiety.
What stood out most was how collaborative and thorough the care was—my psychiatrist even reached out to my outside treatment team to ensure continuity and consistency in my care, which made a huge difference in my progress.
I left feeling more grounded, hopeful, and supported than I ever thought possible. I would highly recommend this program to anyone in need of compassionate and comprehensive mental health care.

I am writing this review because Dr. Mirza made an impact on my sons recovery and helped me in understanding the process. I work in the er and not from here but I did hear alot of repeat pts talk about there experience at Princeton. Finding myself on the other side with my son who started to self medicate himself for depression with street drugs, I turned to Princeton. He was treated as a human being and I was never left feeling unsured. I have the utmost respect for the great work you guys do under those circumstances. Dr.Mirza thankyou for helping us get my son back on track..Not having medcaid has been a challenge but the meds you described have worked and I am paying out of pocket for now but it works. God bless you all and if he ever needed help again, hands down Princeton is the place we will be driving too. A billion thanks Dr. MIRZA AND YOUR WONDERFUL STAFF. Nilda and Richard Farre

SHOUT OUT to the staff here..I have been to many many rehabs, and there is something different about these people, and this place..they are in my opinion, Earth Angels. No judgement, they really just want to help and are good humans! Also, the way they go about treatment, I felt really cared about , from the 1st day. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after..
I can't recommend this place enough. They have no hard chairs that your ass goes numb from sitting in for hours, they have leather, lazy boy chairs, in the entire place, they have a quite room where you can rest if you are detoxing or dont feel good, they feed you great food, they have snacks and sodas and I was literally told "think of this place as your home away from home" and from the clinical staff, the nursing staff, the Dr., they're all special people. xoxoxoxo

RCA was the best decision I made to start my recovery journey!!! When I went there I didn't know what to expect being as though I heard so many horror stories about recovery centers. To my surprise the center was very welcoming, clean, and comfortable, and the food was great. The staff was excellent and most of the patients were great and made me feel like I was not alone. I learned a lot of skills to help with my sobriety, when I was discharged I knew I was ready to continue my journey with confidence and knowledge. My advice to anyone looking to recover is no matter how you show up to RCA if you listen, learn, and use the tools that you are given your recovery journey will be a success!😀🫶🏾🙏🏾

I can only speak to the adult IOP/PHP program, but my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. Despite some of the older, more critical reviews, the current psychologist, Dr. Akunna, is excellent. The staff is also very respectful of gender identities and preferred names — I’ve even seen therapists gently correct each other when the wrong pronoun was used by mistake.
Britney is a fantastic therapist — extremely validating and supportive. The smaller group setting allows for meaningful one-on-one attention, especially during afternoon sessions. Grace, their most consistent group therapist, creates a space where people can truly show up as they are — something I’ve rarely seen done so well.
Ajita and the rest of the team work hard to support clients while also holding firm, compassionate boundaries to set them up for success after leaving the program. They use a mix of DBT, CBT, and other therapeutic approaches to teach skills in a holistic, client-centered way. They also encourage clients to seek additional medical support, such as a primary care doctor or nutritionist, when needed.
Overall, the team is committed to helping clients fully engage with treatment — and you truly get out of the program what you put into it.

My roommate just came back from a stay here and apparently it's not the 5-star hotel everyone was raving about. Firstly, if you're staying here overnight, pack more things than you may need if you want to be comfortable, they take your phone and you're not allowed to call anyone except to get food delivered or if it's to the person/service picking you up. The food wasnt terrible, one night they served chicken baked with BBQ sauce with corn on the cob and beans. If you like cats, great! They have some on the property and they're friendly (and they get to eat your leftovers). You're not allowed off the property so you wobt ve able to explore the abandoned farms in the vicinity on your free time, which you will have a lot of. So, bring something to do like a puzzle or crossword or whatever keeps your mind occupied. The only forms of entertainment will be some TV, magazines, basketball with a broken plastic crate for a hoop, kitties(!), smoking if you smoke, reading something like the back of a shampoo bottle or drawing if you're into that sort of thing, socializing can really help. The people who oversee your stay are actually really nice if you treat then nice (they're just doing their job) and overall the quality of your stay will depend greatly on the people staying with you. So, hopefully you'll be with people who you can trust to go take a shower without having your stuff potentially stolen (so dont bring valuables) but the stay was pretty good, it's really about the people there. They will give you clean bedding, a towel, blanket, act but the mattresses are .. not the best and quite noisy when shifting arround. If your mind is used to instant gratification like internet or TV, be prepared to be very bored if you dont bring something to read/draw on/ occupy your time with.

I am no longer a client at Oaks Integrated Care. My case was closed due to poor attendance (I had debilitating depression). That being said, I enjoyed the program. Discussion was stimulating and case managers were wonderful. The most important part was that I was not the smartest person in the room—I never had all the answers, or even the right answers. I consider myself to be very smart and eager to learn and contribute to discussion. I enjoyed the fact that I was able to learn from both the case managers running the group and the peers I was in group with.
The groups were so stimulating I would not play on my phone during group. In comparison to Medallion, which bored me to tears. I played on my phone so much at Medallion that by the time I’d get back home, I have used about forty percent of my battery. At Oaks, my charge would be in the mid to high 90s because I was not on the phone.
In the past near eleven years since my diagnosis (in 2008, age 17), I have been in four recovery programs. Oaks is, by far, the best mental health recovery program. If I ever felt the need to return to a day program, I would go back to Oaks, hands down. Group therapy should not bore, but stimulate. Oaks is the only program that has kept me engaged. Like I mentioned before—I was not the smartest. There were others who knew more than me, and that was refreshing in a world where I was the smartest most of the time.
I would suggest Oaks to anyone looking for a recovery program. The case managers are very friendly, groups are stimulating—you will not feel the need to play with your electronics. It is also close to me (I live about a mile away). Just an overall excellent program. The schedule procedures for when groups ran—so there was group variety, letters A-E and every day was a different set of groups.
The only thing I did not like was the five minute break between groups—I think they should be a little longer—maybe a ten or fifteen minute break to give clients more time to smoke or use the restroom and sign up for the next group. Overall, five ⭐️

I hired Travis Alfonso to work with my son as a recovery coach. Travis was down to earth, easy to talk to and caring. Both my son and I found him easy to relate to--thanks Travis.

Going to RCA was the best decision I made. I am so grateful for this place. What makes this place so special is the people who work here. I see them show up everyday. They are selfless and continuously check up on you. Whether you are inpatient, or alumni, they are always there for you. It really is a beautiful thing.
