Great program , completely different approach than any where I’ve ever been. I’ve been given the tools I’ve learned and I hope I get to use them in my future . I’m so greatful for the open mindedness this place has given me about addiction and what is really means to be an addict. I definitely recommend coming here !!

I cannot begin to explain how helpful The Living Room was to me during my time there. There are specific people that brought me back to life and continued to help with my recovery everyday. The process there is beautiful, being in the sunroom and mudroom allowed a great deal of thinking and connection. Mediation was something I thought was not needed, after being there, it changed my life. It is now a huge part of my recovery. Without the kindness and love in there at The Living Room, I would not be where I am today with such willpower. It was truly a wonderful experience. Clayton was SUPERIOR in every aspect of assisting me on this journey. I have never encountered a tech so helpful, so organized, and so kind in my life. Without Clayton, I don’t think I would be where I am with my time spent at A Friend’s Place sober house. He was always available, present, and had great words of wisdom that I carry with me everyday. He instilled willpower in me and ran great groups with such passion. He truly is meant for this field and I am thankful I got to witness it. Terbett changed my life with family and personal therapy. I would not be where I am with my family without her work. I have truly never been with a better therapist than Terbett. The groups she runs are phenomenal and every session helps heal. She is a wonderful serving woman that is a huge asset to The Living Room. Justina was a big help with case management and a warm embrace when I came in the door. I felt so comfortable being there and she helped me anytime I needed. Kristen! The BEST administrator I have ever met! Each day walking in the door, Kristen brought positivity and light to each of us. She is very kind and helpful, such a light at The Living Room. Barb is hands down the best nurse practitioner I have ever encountered! She thoroughly asks questions and actually cares about each patient. Thank you for all of your hard work and consideration! I miss everyone dearly, but am thankful to be where I am today with the assistance of The Living Room. Thank you!!!

Words could not express how eternally grateful I am to have found The Living Room. The holistic approach to recovery really makes TLR unique. As someone who was previously uncompromising in her refusal to adopt spirituality and the concept of a "higher power" that is so frequently repeated among recovery networks, my views have been transformed by the wisdom that Dr Leming has to share. TLR has lived up to its motto "All parts welcome", and through meditation, I have gotten to know and understand parts of myself which I had previously rejected and dismissed. Rather than focusing on the addiction as one would in traditional medical approaches, the emphasis is on the person as a whole and the parts that we are comprised of. The carefully hand-picked staff all have so much character and spunk, and there is never a dull moment during group sessions, from the wild humor that has me laughing until tears form, to the profound wisdom and guidance imparted by group facilitators who have similarly struggled with addiction. Despite the different walks of life that the patients come from, the dynamic is very much that of a family, and the staff are committed to fostering and encouraging supportive relationships among patients that further contribute to sobriety. From the moment I stepped into TLR, I was treated as an individual, and I was welcomed with a warmth that assured me that I would be in good hands. I was able to fully focus on my treatment and recovery, thanks to the staff's generosity and commitment to help me with other troubles in my life, from the life-saving to the mundane (playing barista whenever I wanted coffee during group!) Even on an aesthetic level, TLR manages to outclass with stunning visuals. The decor of the sun and mud rooms beautifully set the atmosphere for group sessions, from the cheery, spirited energy of the sun room, to the introspective, meditative aura that washes over you as you step through the doors of the mud room. TLR will always have my heartfelt thanks, and to anyone struggling with addiction, this place will be my one and only recommendation.

I would definitely recommend Princeton House, it doesn't feel like jail, the nurses and techs were absolutely amazing and treated me with respect and very well, My roommate ended up coming down with COVID-19 so she was sent home, They put me in a different room, gave me my own TV also which isn't allowed but they did it for me, the brang me all my meals to my room and snacks throughout the day! I recently moved into the area and was searching for a counseling service to meet my needs. A licensed therapist kindly returned my call the same day and spent the better part of an hour listening to my experiences. She made sure to take the time to understand the kind of care I might need and point me in the right direction. It was very clear to me that their main concern was my mental health above all else. This is model behavior for a counseling service in my opinion and I would happily recommend their services to anyone searching for professional counseling.

I have been receiving medical treatment at Lyons and East Orange for over 12 years.. and have interacted with many medical professionals and staff.. in any large hospital setting, you will encounter dedicated people and sometimes, some that are just not smart enough to gargle. I recently had shoulder surgery and I rate it 5 stars 110%. Drs, nurses, staff were outstanding and the scheduling was perfect. God Bless all those who take care of us veterans at both hospitals.

I'm writing this review to express my sincere appreciation for Chris Vallecillo, a clinician who truly made a difference in my treatment at Relevance. I worked with Chris for a significant period, and his approach to therapy was incredibly effective for me. Chris has a unique ability to connect with you on a personal level while maintaining a professional and insightful demeanor. He created a comfortable and trusting environment where I felt safe to openly discuss my challenges. His guidance was always practical and actionable, helping me develop coping mechanisms and strategies that genuinely improved my well-being. I particularly valued his ability to listen intently and offer perspectives that I hadn't considered, which was crucial for my progress. I was genuinely disappointed to learn that Chris is no longer working at Relevance. His departure is a significant loss for the facility, as his expertise and compassionate approach are truly exceptional. For anyone seeking a clinician who is not only highly skilled but also deeply committed to their patients' success, Chris Vallecillo is, in my experience, outstanding. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors and hope that others will have the opportunity to benefit from his incredible support as I did.

I learned a lot of valuable skills at Relevance. Gracie was a phenomenal counselor who was empathetic with great boundaries. Latifah helped me so much with guidance, med management and life skills. Chelsea was incredible at teaching and explaining DBT. The only pressing issue I had during treatment was difficulty receiving case management needs. Other than that, I have made immense progress, and it was with the helping hands of relevance. Thank you Relevance team for your patience, dual diagnosis care, and laughter. Empowering experience for sure.

I have been to several treatment facilities and this one is by far the best one i have been to. Not only is the facility clean and well kept, the faculty that works there have amazing hearts. This is the only treatment facility that i have been to where the staff actually genuinely care for you and your recovery/well being. They have a unique treatment plan that works. Unlike many places I have been to instead of boring you to death, they actually make recovery fun, which in my experience has a lot to do with being able to succeed in recovery. I have recommended multiple friends and family members to go here when they are struggling with addiction and will continue to recommend Steps to Recovery to anyone who asks how i got clean and remained clean. I owe my life and my recovery to these people and they will always have a special place in my heart.Just a little update, celebrating 10 years clean in a few months

I recently graduated from STR. I was in programming between May to September, originally PHP and then in the IOP mental health program. While in PHP I was in housing as well. There are family sessions offered too, but I did not utilize that service while at STR.While the house I was at was not perfect, administration tried their best to accommodate every concern clients had with the house. It was overall a clean and safe environment to live in. If there are any concerns advocate for yourself and ask a tech to call a house meeting if it is an interpersonal issue within the house. If you have a different issue communicate that to the director and it will most likely be handled promptly. The PHP (partial hospitalization program) for mental health is six days a week, 9am-1:30 Monday-Friday and 9am-12pm Saturdays. The program changes as needs change. When I first began there process groups were three hours long, but when I left they were two hours long with an additional hour of psych ed. While the day may seem long, everyone gets a break between noon and 12:30. Afternoon there are different types of therapy everyday like art therapy, DBT, CBT.IOP (intensive outpatient program) is only 9am-12pm three days a week, usually Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The director is accommodating though so if for any reason you need to not go on a Monday, you could always go on a Saturday if you advocate for yourself. You ll have one individual session a week with one of the clinicians. I had Ashley and she is phenomenal. While the staff really do care about the clients, Ashley definitely cares about clients and it shows in her work. You ll also have a session with either Dr. Newman or Monique once a week to go over medications they are both amazing!STR is shaped not just by the staff, but clientele too. I have reinforced and grew my support system while being at STR. And while I was in the mental health program, I have substance use disorder as well, I d recommend Steps to recovery struggling with their mental health or substance use. It may take a couple of weeks to really settle into the program, but continue to do the work since you are worth it and advocate for yourself if something isn t working for you.STR is also a great facility if you re part of the LGBTQ+ community. The staff here are not just accepting, but affirming. There is an optional LGBTQ+ group once a week with Christian, which was my favorite part of the week.

The staff were all very nice for the most part. I had some great moments. STR helped me out while I was in a rough position and for that I am grateful. I appreciate that they go out of there way to help people with extenuating circumstances. There are a lot of personalities and that can frustrating. However, I would recommend this place to a friend in need. Overall, it s a good place.

Counselor Danielle is extremely competent and is the personification of integrity. Banyan's counselors are progressive, humane, and highly skilled. The psychiatric nurse ("Judy in the sky"), is exceptional. Kudos all the way around and "hats off" to BANYAN management for such superb personnel selections! No one comes close to knowing all there is to know in the realms of the human heart, mind, and/or collective soul. However, it is easy for this (once) PHRP Certified Researcher to realize that our counselors' attempts to help us are being made with compassion and care. I spent six months at Footprints to Recovery, and the experience was truly transformative. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms and treated with respect and understanding. The staff at this facility is nothing short of extraordinary their dedication to each individual s recovery journey is evident in everything they do.During my stay, I participated in a variety of therapy sessions, including individual counseling, group therapy, and specialized workshops. These sessions were instrumental in helping me understand the root causes of my addiction and provided me with the tools and strategies I needed to manage my triggers and cravings. The therapists and counselors were compassionate, knowledgeable, and always available to offer support and guidance. One of the most valuable aspects of my time at Footprints to Recovery was the emphasis on education and skill-building. I attended several classes that covered topics such as stress management, mindfulness, and healthy coping mechanisms. These classes were incredibly insightful and gave me practical techniques that I continue to use in my daily life. The sense of community at Footprints to Recovery was also a significant factor in my recovery. I formed strong bonds with fellow clients who were on similar journeys, and we supported each other through the highs and lows of the recovery process. The group activities and peer support meetings were a source of motivation and encouragement, reminding me that I was not alone in my struggle. The facility itself is well-maintained and provides a safe and comfortable environment for healing. The accommodations were clean and pleasant, and the amenities helped make my stay more enjoyable.Overall, my experience at Footprints to Recovery was life-changing. I left the center with a renewed sense of hope and a comprehensive plan for continued recovery. I am deeply grateful for the knowledge and skills I gained, and I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking help with addiction.

I had a really great experience at High Focus and would recommend it to anyone who thinks they may need a higher level of car. The clinicians were amazing and each clinician brought their own unique style to each group. The atmosphere was of healing and focused on creating a safe and honest space for people to express themselves and learn more about themselves and different skills. I also enjoyed the set up of the program as I met with the prescriber and my clinician weekly. There was always honesty and transparency in my care. I felt safe and like I could trust my team while navigating a challenging time in my life. I definitely think you get what you put into the experience. I think it can be easy to get a lot out of it when learning from clinicians like Taylor, Kelly, and Ashley. They brought humor and lightness into an otherwise dark and serious time. They are amazing and I am grateful for my time there! 😊

As someone who recently arrived in the U.S., I am completely unfamiliar with the medical system here. I don’t know how it works, and I don’t speak the language. The language barrier becomes an issue even when trying to make a basic doctor’s appointment. That’s why I deeply need help in this area. Special thanks to coordinator Lana Romanenko for her support. Previously, she scheduled an appointment for me at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick with Dr. V. Koshenkov, an oncologist-dermatologist. And today, she was by my side during surgery, serving as both my interpreter and emotional support. Thanks to her, I know for sure I will never miss a visit and will always receive the best care! Separate thanks to coordinator Olena Sloush, who helps me with visits to the Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch to see an oncologist and breast specialist. Every six months, I undergo mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and other exams there. Programs like this are truly essential! They support newcomers to the U.S. and serve as a bridge between the patient, the hospital, and the healthcare system. Doctor visits accompanied by a coordinator and translator become positive experiences — free of stress. Thank you for the support… Sincerely, Khrystyna Balyak

A loved one went here and just got out today. The change in him is astonishing. He had nothing but good things to say about the treatment he received here and the people he met. And, a special thanks goes out to his counselor, Julia. She made a huge difference in his time there.

I am a middle aged alcoholic/addict and have been around the rehab scene for some time unfortunately. Discovery was a great experience for me and is the place to go if you want to get sober in NJ.First, my Counselor Christopher D was outstanding. The best I have ever had. I am so glad I had the opportunity to work with him. Danny, Bridget and Stacy were great back-ups when Chris wasn t available to me.The A-Team of Nurses including Samantha, Sarah, Nicole L and Katie and the others made my 4 weeks as painless both physically and mentally as possible.Hal and his staff of BETs were as good as it gets. Kevin B, Tony, Nick, Xavier, Anwar and the rest were all true pros. In particular, David and Harun overnight kept me sane on several nights of me not being able to sleep.Kyle my point man and his partners Trevor and Sarah in discharge planning were excellent and Kyle helped me get to the next stage in my recovery at one of the most sought after aftercare places in the state.Kyle M, the Director of Operations is a serious professional that runs a great organization. No matter what insurance you, this is the place if you want to get sober in NJ.Thank you Mr. B

Pyramid Langhorne is AMAZING!All of the staff from nursing to BHT's, kitchen, even the cleaning crew! The campus is beautiful and there's even wildlife. This was a complete spiritual experience for me.

By far the best place around. If your serious about your recovery, this is the place. It s not just all about the medication, it s about the staff as well. My counselor, Sharece T saved my life. She goes above and beyond the call of duty and treats people as an individual, not a group, because we re all different. She really took the time to get to know me and get to the root of the problem and checks up regularly to see if everything s going well. I ve been to many places, doctors, meetings and rehabs. No one has ever understood me better, witch is very important in recovery so you can be treated accordingly. I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I m extremely grateful and blessed for my counselor Sharece. A huge thanks to this organization and most importantly, my counselor.

Yes there are strict rules but the patients that go there must learn boundaries, what they can do and can't do. By doing good, you will learn to receive the Love of God and the Word.
