She was the house mom during my stay, but she showed up as so much more than that. She was caring, present, consistent, and loving in a way that made me feel safe enough to grow. I came in with a positive mindset, open to any and everything they had to offer and was able to really take advantage of it all. One thing I am most grateful for is the environment and community that grew my positive energy. Everyone from my APN, Dee, my therapist, Michael who I have learned so much from. Jose, my case manager who has always went above and beyond to facilitate any other needs I had. And for Melvin who always was a leader and ready with a smile and positivity. I always felt comfortable and connected. It was always easy for everyone and myself yo be able to engage in group settings and that is a credit to the vibe and energy of each one of the therapists who ran each session. If this is your first time coming to treatment, Footprints gets an A++ from me. Its always tough to take that first step, but they do an amazing job of walking with you the rest of the way. The nurse Sydney is absolutely the sweetest person you'll ever meet. I went there over a year ago and and she remembered me and made sure my stay there was comfortable. Unfortunately I've stayed at quite a few other facilities and NEVER was treated with such respect and kindness that she treated me with. She deserves a raise lol! On the other hand..I made a very good friend in my time staying there..we kept in touch and we were both struggling. I was trying to be a good girlfriend and put my own health aside waiting waiting for him. I now know know that I need further assistance than just detox . He's not even. Being a decent human being/and/or being nice about it. I tried called the Sterling location 5 times where my friend is. She told me there is in IN FACT beds available but the person on the phone wasnt so friendly..almost demeaning. He said "just because there's beds available doesn't mean there's beds available". I was very confused...almost like he didn't want to help me save my life. And he was just annoyed to be answering the phone. He told me over and over in an annoyed and stern voice as I was in tears to call back at 9am. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after.. I can't recommend this place enough. He is Autistic and is having some serious mental health challenges at this time. At intake all of the nurses are very kind to me and I could overhear them sweet talking him up the hall which made me feel very comfortable because they did not know I could hear what they were saying. They were very patient and kind with my sweet boy. Today I received a call back quickly to give me an update and let me know his visiting dates as well as what to bring him. The doctor has already seen him and made some changes to his meds and they seem to be very attentive to his needs so far. I’m going to visit him tomorrow so I pray this place continues to be amazing and save my son and teach him to live life with a positive outlook and be kinder to himself. They are also working with us and teaching us about how to best be there for him. This is a good facility for MAT (medication assisted treatment) as well as helpful groups, peer recovery, helpful staff, and many patients that befriend & help each other. They have case workers that can help with social services and provide resources, for patients that need further assistance (i.e. homelessness, daily living assistance, etc). There is a great medical staff for dosing, therapy, psychiatric, and other medical concerns. The facility has many ways to assist with costs (i.e. private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Govt funding, etc), always ask for assistance; they have helped so many patients that couldn't afford recovery. They can also assist with external resources for medical transportation; however, this may depend on insurance. Recovery is a daily battle, sometimes it can take a long time to get there.
