Rolling Hills Recovery Review The best way to describe Rolling Hills Recovery Center(RHRC) would be a “well-oiled machine”. As I sit here writing this, I am on the cusp of 15 months of sobriety. It has taken me up until now to finally write my review-not because I didn’t want to- but because I was too busy LIVING life. Due to that, I am able to reflect on things and give an honest review. DISCLAIMER: Do not make Rolling Hills a part of your recovery if you like to be treated as a number. If you thrive in a ‘One Size Fits All” approach, then Rolling Hill may not be a good fit for you. When my journey first started, I spoke to the Admissions Team on a whim. I knew that I needed some help and didn’t know where to start. Rachael and Zea helped guide me through the process and stuck with me while I navigated being a mother to two little ones. We came up with a plan to start at Rolling Hills a couple of weeks later, while I had time to get my ducks in a row. Everyday, I spoke with either Rachael or Zea. They helped keep my head above water. Upon arriving at the RHRC facility, I was alone in a way that I had never been before. States away from my family and supports. I was expecting to walk into a sterile, hospital-like setting but the center was welcoming, modern and bright. It was a quiet Saturday at the center and I was met by very welcoming staff to complete the intake process. I somehow knew that I had made the right decision, despite my hesitancy. RHRC’s approach to Recovery and over-all wellness can not be matched. When choosing RHRC, you are choosing a multifaceted program. For myself, this included the Sober living accommodations. To me, this was an added extension of care that made long term recovery possible. Chelsea, Scott, Cheryln, Anna, the Mike’s and Chris truly provided the extra support that I needed. Being away from my family was such a difficult decision, but I knew that I was not alone at any point during my care. RHRC utilizes an all-encompassing philosophy that is specific to each individual in their care. This includes individual counseling, various counseling groups, and psychiatry. Holistic groups such as yoga, art therapy, music therapy and equine therapy are also offered. Everyone in the clinic goes above and beyond and genuinely wants to see you succeed. SHOUT OUT to BRIAN, Kerri, Cammie, Doreen, Abby, Brie, Elena, Moira, Caroline, Chloe and Bobbi! It’s important for me to note that we put in the work and lots of it. The schedule is packed from morning until night. I did some serious self-reflection. Sundays were less structured but included spending time with my family and going on group excursions(hiking, fishing, Top Golf, for example) Rolling Hills Recovery Center provided me with the tools that were needed to succeed prior to leaving my time there. Recovery is truly a journey, not a destination. While I miss the entire staff and the friendships that were cultivated with my “housemates”, the door stays open. There are frequent alumni get togethers and even a weekly alumni meeting that can be in person or virtual. Access to an app is also convenient for accountability and check-in. I know that support is only a call or visit away. So, if you’re still reading, you may be just like me. I too read the reviews, barely managed my chaotic life, white-knuckled through the day… What do you really have to lose by taking the jump? Not a dang thing. You are worthy of a great life. You matter. WE do recover and life is so much better once you start to live it.

My son has been working with Morris, a Recovery Coach at Mountainside for the past eight months and the experience has been exceptional for us both! Morris truly understands how to support recovery in a real world, day to day way. The coaching goes further than check-ins. It includes accountability, life skills, emotional support, and sometimes honest hard conversations. My son has learned how to manage challenges, make healthier choices and is learning how to stay focused on his long-term goals. The progress he’s made has been remarkable and I credit much of that to the consistent well informed coaching he receives. Not only does Morris provide coaching to my son, his expertise extends to me as well. He is highly responsive and always follows through. Mountainside’s Recovery coaching is more than a service. It feels like it’s a true partnership. As a mom navigating this process, I am grateful for the guidance, structure, the encouragement and situational advice Morris provides. I would recommend their coaching without hesitation to any family who’s looking for meaningful sustained support around sobriety. This has made a significant difference for my family. Early recovery, albeit exciting, can be fragile, and I cannot imagine having gone through this experience without the coaching Morris provides.

I recently began the IOP program at Guardian Recovery, and on my very first day Marta was the group facilitator. From that moment forward, group with her has been truly eye‑opening. She has a unique way of asking questions that makes you dig deep, recognize your triggers, and explore feelings you didn’t even realize you had been repressing for years. The exercises she guides us through have helped me turn one of the worst situations in my life into something I can finally see in a positive light. Marta has also taught me how to communicate more effectively with the people around me (especially those who tend to trigger me) and that has already made a huge difference in my daily life. Her insight, compassion, and ability to help us grow are remarkable. I’m genuinely grateful for the impact she’s had on my recovery journey. Guardian Recovery is fortunate to have someone like her.

Sunrise cherry hill was a godsend. The nurse Sydney is absolutely the sweetest person you'll ever meet. I went there over a year ago and and she remembered me and made sure my stay there was comfortable. Unfortunately I've stayed at quite a few other facilities and NEVER was treated with such respect and kindness that she treated me with. She deserves a raise lol! On the other hand..I made a very good friend in my time staying there..we kept in touch and we were both struggling. I was trying to be a good girlfriend and put my own health aside waiting waiting for him. I now know know that I need further assistance than just detox . He's not even. Being a decent human being/and/or being nice about it. I tried called the Sterling location 5 times where my friend is. She told me there is in IN FACT beds available but the person on the phone wasnt so friendly..almost demeaning. He said "just because there's beds available doesn't mean there's beds available". I was very confused...almost like he didn't want to help me save my life. And he was just annoyed to be answering the phone. He told me over and over in an annoyed and stern voice as I was in tears to call back at 9am. Im just lucky im not someone who is WAY more fragile and sensitive amd nothing terrible happened 🥺

This place literally saved my life & that is not an exaggeration by any means. The “rehab” I was at before coming to NJRC seemed like it could have cared less if I lived, relapsed or died. I was in excruciating pain the entire time I was there and just kept getting worse. And I thought NJRC was going to be more of the same. But thank the good lord I was dead wrong. Everyone from the techs in the housing like Alex, Luis, etc.. to the people who run the center - Ritchie, Jeremy, Tommy, etc.. helped me to get well every single day… plus, my Therapist Rachel was a Godsend. She is like the sweetest person on the planet & helped get my life back on track…. to the group facilitators like Phil, Theresa, Jessica, Karen, etc.. who made each and everyday a learning experience.. to the house managers Sue & my man Kenny who is from Queens, NY like myself who made my stay there as comfortable as possible… not to mention people like Courtney, Kiyana, Phyllis(nutritionist), Dr. Cherrie Zapata who all helped in too many ways to count… I could go on & on… I highly recommend this place to anyone who is trying to better their life by giving up drugs & alcohol… God Bless NJRC!…(It would have been nice if someone from NJRC thanked me for my review..😏)

I am a spouse of an individual that just completed a 28 day inpatient treatment plan. To be honest I am not even sure how we ended up with this provider, however it ended up being a true blessing. Not only was my husband taken good care of, I received several calls from his clinician to provide updates regarding his status, but also them checking on how I was doing and asking if I had any questions/concerns. I was also given their contact numbers in case I needed to reach them at any point. My family feels very fortunate that our Husband/father ended up at this facility.

I'm writing this for the creative person who thinks rehab is gonna be all lectures and coping skills worksheets and compliance training...or new agey feel good enabling BS. (because I went through that at another place…and I’m a feisty, rebellious performer, who fell all the way to hell through my addiction.) Moving Mountains is an adventure based program. And that's not just "fun." that’s a major part of the treatment…hiking, skiing, ropes course…Healthy risks…Movement. self Mastery. Making something…learning that I can DO things that make me feel better…They teach you how to deal with crap on the deepest levels, to get it out. So like…in my case…there is less to want to escape. Easier to stay sober. Joy…peace…fun. Stress: life. Tools Sobriety doesn't have to be gray and grim. It can light up your brain as much as getting high did. I mean that…kinda literally. Skydiving…for real…if you do the work…it’s part of the program. At completion. It's not a "creative arts program." BUT: creative work is an option. For me it was a key. A Big key. I had no idea how much my creative shutdown and grief were feeding my addiction…really, almost no idea. I am a singer. And I saw people transform through singing (like me…), guitar, piano, making beats, DJing, poetry, dance, voice work...even building comedy routines. You could literally see someone's eyes and posture shift over days. The staff are Actually client centered. At Moving mountains, that means you're treated like a human being. Not a diagnosis and not a compliance project. They help you remember want you want, connect you to your dreams again. They don't “punish you into right thinking.” That’s still a very common approach, I’ve heard from so many people in recovery meetings. But there are boundaries and clear expectations...because that's what actually leads to an easier, fun life. I was not the easiest client. I had to learn to be patient and respectful…not just to others. To myself. It's also not 12 step only preaching club. Super strong recovery culture...but you're allowed to explore what works for you, (there's even a Zen teacher who comes!) The housing is for real beautiful and in beautiful communities. Not "nice for rehab." Actually nice. It's weird to miss rehab. Like a paradox. But I do. My time at Moving Mountains has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.
