I’ve been coming here since 2014. The nursing staff and counselors have improved so much over the years. The front desk receptionist Heather is warm and welcoming. The nursing staff is quick, professional & thorough. My counselor Jamie is the best I’ve had in all of my years of recovery up to this point. She always points out the positives in any situation and has a soft & loving way of talking through anything negative. Aside from her loving & professional style of counsel, she has degrees and certificates that make her more than qualified for the job. Out of all the facilities in the area that assist with medicated outpatient addiction treatment, AMS is the cleanest, most qualified and most professional.

If you are trying to get your life sorted out, you can count truly count on every single person in this building. From the lovely michelle who greets you when you first come in to the therapist Frank Healy, who radiates with postive energy to last but not least Dr.Mark who genuinely cares and you can feel that as soon as you speak with him. When I started here the staff before and up to today was beautiful and respectful now to management you all let a great doctor Doctor Seth which is very sad and now Doctor Boyd one of the best caring doctor a Christian woman with Faith is God go when Dr. was on vacation there was one Doctor tried her best to put me back on narcotics methodone I refused I didn’t want a life like we all had before and of this management had a heart and there Faith of Gods Love they would of kept around two doctors of the best I ever met that truly cared about their patients it takes a Heart not about saving a few dollars and put doctors in place of Doctors Seth and Dr.Boyd but them two are doing well and so blessed my heart goes the staff because if they let 2 wonderful great doctors go they will let staff go because of greed and management doesn’t care about their patients or staff they care about the money money only you all keep God first starting out the day and watch the beautiful blessings keep coming in your lives 🙏😇✝️ and to Doctor Seth and Doctor Boyd Gods going to bless you both in many ways love you both I’m a Christian it’s why I say this to everyone

I went here June 28 2024. What a wonderful experience!! I'm coming up on a year and feel great being sober. You could not ask for a better staff. You feel like family. My counselor was Paige and she was wonderful. Then to learn that most of the staff went thru the same thing I had been going thru..alcoholism. I'm a new person and I look and feel great!
Please....if you are skeptical please don't. Take an advantage of this great program. You'll be glad you did. When it was time for me to leave it was bitter sweet!

I just left Banyan today, and I can't possibly say enough to express how wonderful everyone there was!! My therapist, Sabrina, was amazingly kind, understanding and knowledgeable and truly helped me a lot, especially with my anxiety and coping with past trauma. My case manager, Matt, was there whenever I needed something from him and was also incredibly kind. The techs are beyond awesome, Rose especially, all of them always going the extra mile for me and everyone else. The group facilitators I can't thank enough, like Liz, Cali and Pat, truly helping me to recognize my self-worth and learn how to actually execute healthy coping mechanisms, not just know about them. The nurses, like Megan and Anna and Christina are so kind, patient and helpful. Even my driver, Andy, was instrumental in my recovery there, being incredibly insightful and helpful. Please, please, ANYONE who is struggling with any sort of addiction, give Banyan at least a try. They will help you turn around and save your life more than you could ever expect. Today's marks my 4 year sober anniversary and it all started with Seabrook. I went when COVID was everywhere and unfortunately after a week about half of the staff was out due to testing positive. Even with half of the staff gone, the rest of the staff did everything and anything they could to help those who truly accepted it. You're able to see people from all walks of life, different backgrounds and of all ages struggle to find peace within themselves and know you're not alone. The speakers who come are extremely powerful with their raw true stories about addiction BUT also more importantly about how they're recovering and kept fighting for themselves. I had no idea what to expect when I went as it was my first time getting help and even acknowledging I needed it. Going to Seabrook and getting sober was the absolute best thing I ever did for myself. Life can be hard but it's not attacking you personally. Once you start to heal yourself, you see more of the beauty in the world and in people. There's way and I mean way more good people than bad. They want to see you succeed and just be happy. Those people are everywhere and once you clear the fog(drugs) from your mind and body you will find them. You then become those who helped you and you get to help others just by staying sober and showing it can happen. I know you guys will be open once again to help those who need it. I have so much love for all of you and thank you for never giving up on us even when it's hard. I am a recovering alcoholic and today I have 4 years sober. I have a new career, an amazing fiance and my life is just beginning. Never give up and know you're not alone. Zoom meetings are 24/7 and they're tons of communities online. You got this! 😀❤️

I went to this detox and rehab several times and they always accepted me back and let me keep trying to get myself clean a year and a half ago I went to their pemberton campus which is not the best of places but I made due and I’ve been clean a little over 18 months now so I don’t think it’s ever the rehab because I’ve been literally everywhere just has to do with if the persons willing to put in the work to make the best of the place they can get in get as much out of it and not go back out and use so you don’t ever have to be in an uncomfortable place like detox and rehab rehab and detox isn’t supposed to be comfortable and with how a lot of these places are they make it so comfortable people want to keep coming back but this place not only was my counselor great but the techs were great and went above and beyond to make sure that I was fed if I was too sick to get up and go to any meal and made sure I was up for my smoke break I owe Merryville my life because I’d probably be dead if they didn’t get me extensions and set me up for my mat treatment for when I left. I can not say enough positive things about the cit's and Maryville in a whole. I was treated with respect from everyone there. I feel as though they go above and beyond for there clients. It is how anything is in life you will only get out of it what you put in to it and that being said I got more than words can say out of it, but that is because I chose to make it that way. I want to thank Maryville and all the cit's / counslers there you guys have saved my life and I will forever be thankful to you all. This is an amazing place for anyone going through a difficult time. I have severe PTSD due to some traumas. I’m leaving feeling better, thank god. Every single staff member I’ve met was so caring, kind, and loving. They truly give their all and love what they do. If I could give it 10 stars I would. I made the best decision of my life going here for help. It saved my life. I honestly didn’t want to leave. Thank you for your love at the lowest point in my life. Love you all.

I literally love this place! I have received so much support from different counselors there. They really do care about us and what's going on. They work their hardest to make sure we feel safe enough to open up and really do some work. My name is Jessica and I will say Anthony(a counselor there) truly got through to me. I didn't finish the program but I will be celebrating 4 years clean soon thanks to the one thing he said to me 'when is enough, enough'

Connections is now Coras and has been for a while. The management has changed and the staff also has gotten better. They do care however don't expect them to do more then what you are willing to do 😜. I endorse them

Updated 2024 - Still grateful for ARS. The nursing & front window staff is incredible. 🖤 THEY are who holds this place together & keeps it running smoothly. But since my original review, owners have taken on even MORE patients. I have gotten to a place where I only go 2 xs a month. So doesn't affect me as much as it will newer patients. But still wanted to make a note of it.
I have to start out saying ARS is what you make of it. I have been on this program for many years (that is MY journey, maybe not yours) but i have YET to have ANY issues with staff abusing power. A legit 10 + years and not ONCE has anyone abused their power w me.
👉*IF YOU*
• Come and do what you are SUPPOSED to.
• LEAVE when u are done.
• Stop using (u have time to adjust.)
• Give clean drug tests.
• Dont cause chaos & drama.
•Treat everyone how YOU like to be treated.
👉You should NOT have any problems.
👉*But...If you*
•Befriend all the slackers w no jobs doing nothing w their lives still.
• Chill in parking lot for an hour (or until kicked out by security.).
• Make BFFs w other patients that are STILL living dirty.
• Find yerself a boyfriend or girlfriend that is still using OR new in recovery also.
👉 Basically if you treat this place A SOCIAL EVENT/ dating app - Yes, you WILL have issues & time there WILL suck.
I do agree w/ one of the posters before me...it WAS better in Sommers Point. When we moved locations they took on WAY too many patients. When I started there was a little over 200, now there is 3 TIMES PLUS that. Staff doesnt have the time they need & have WAY too much on their caseloads. Granted, Dr.Roth is a SUPERHERO. He will gonabove and beyond for you if he knows you are doing the right thing.
But for a PRIVATE (aka for profit) facility, I DO expect to get what I NEED out of it. At OVER $100 a week per patient + payouts for things we accomplish (i.e. groups, sessions, ect) it would be nice to have the community feel we once had here. It was SUCH a great place when the staff wasnt overloaded. And I mean GREAT. I understand this IS FOR PROFIT clinic but it's started to get that "state funded" feel. 😞 I mean, obvi this IS a BUSINESS, but still. There has to be a line drawn somewhere. I have moved many times for work in life so have been to 5 diff clinics. State funded AND private. I picked this place BACAUSE it was privately owned.
It's STILL a great place, and i am grateful for it. Don't get me wrong... but if u knew how much better it was run BEFORE the move -
you'd understand.
Again-Stay away from the slackers & drama queens/kings. Do what you are supposed to do. Give clean drug tests, Go to at least 1 group OR see yr councelor for alternate ways if u have a career/work days. GET A JOB or go to school & make something of yourself. Nothing will change if YOU don't.

Met me where I was and was very understanding and encouraging. I was accepted into the program as where I was not accepted into another program without going inpatient despite my circumstances. I am very grateful. Today, about 4 months later, my life is so much different and going in the right direction. I am making progress everyday.

Since they changed places and moved 2 Pleasantville it has been the best place ever! They work with you sometimes a little strict but that's because they care and trying to show you THERE IS A WAY OUT '.... they have excellent groups, we have workers that will help you go on if you're interested reaching a plateau whether it be work, transportation, or mental help, going back to work etc. Not just a place of medication oh, it's a place of help real help and there good people once you get to know them they become your friend! And I've seen quite a few different counselor s LMAO.... though I've always been on the up-and-up not breaking any big rules. I only question is why we do not use the red syrup methadone!??.... I have stomach issues where sometimes the medicine doesn't Workwell! I prefer the red syrup I don't know if we'll ever change to that but otherwise I give John Brooks 95%! They really do try to show you THERE IS A WAY OUT !!!!👍🥰🙏✝️

I stayed here for 6 months in 2016.. this place changed my life and changed me (for the better)from the inside out. I definitely recommend this place a million percent! The people who work here really really care about their clients.. this place might not be top in luxury... And I have even heard people talk down on it because it's not new and flashy.. but this place puts so much time and energy into their clients. They truly care about helping their clients to get better ! I would rather go here or send someone I love here than anywhere else! They really work to find out your core issues, and what is causing you to use.. and then help you to figure out new coping techniques to prevent future relapse.. everyday I am so grateful for my experience here... Everything that I learned here changed me for the better! I am grateful for everyone who worked here and touched my life.. I look at how far I've come and I can honestly say that I wouldn't have been able to do it without jbrc. 👍💯♥️ If you are looking for a place to help you get better... I am fully aware that each veteran's situation is unique despite having the commonality of service and sacrifice to infinitely varying degrees. Challenges and struggles may be shared, but the first, second, and third order effects of said challenges and struggles will always be unique to the individual and their circle of family and friends. So, with that said, I am stating that my experience is my own. And my experience at this clinic, as well as with the community care resources outside of the clinic, have been nothing but positive and fruitful. Have there been hiccups and issues that needed communication and action taken to remedy? Of course. But the quality of care that I have received from the team here, the Wilmington team, and the community care team has been exemplary and without criticism. I am grateful to far too many people to list here, but I can say without hesitation that each and every team member here has treated me with respect, empathy, and concern for my well being. Again, I will reiterate that each veteran's situation is unique. I am a Group 1, 100% disabled veteran with 29 years of service in the U.S. Army as an Infantry Soldier. I enjoy the benefits of this priority group. Every veteran's service is beyond a written value, but veterans that fall into other priority groups may have to deal with longer wait times for appointments, have to pay co-pays, etc. This is the nature of the system, unfortunately. But priority levels and the according actions are necessary for this system to work. These good people have historically been underfunded and overworked. They do the best that they can for all of us. As a recommendation for my fellow veterans, I implore you to file claims for your likely worsening service-connected conditions and ailments. Stay the course and hold the line. If you are denied in the process, reapply. Work with a VSO that lights a fire on your behalf. Take advantage of all available resources provided by the VA.
