He is Autistic and is having some serious mental health challenges at this time. At intake all of the nurses are very kind to me and I could overhear them sweet talking him up the hall which made me feel very comfortable because they did not know I could hear what they were saying. They were very patient and kind with my sweet boy. Today I received a call back quickly to give me an update and let me know his visiting dates as well as what to bring him. The doctor has already seen him and made some changes to his meds and they seem to be very attentive to his needs so far. I’m going to visit him tomorrow so I pray this place continues to be amazing and save my son and teach him to live life with a positive outlook and be kinder to himself. My father’s hospital stay was difficult however the staff made it tolerable for him. Every person from maintenance, food service , equipment management , transport treated us with compassion and respect. I especially need to commend the nursing staff who treated him so well. Megan, Suzanne, Rose, Eden. Nefa as well as so many others need to be applauded. Both Ellen and Kat the nursing supervisors made sure that everything was ok. The nurse Sydney is absolutely the sweetest person you'll ever meet. I went there over a year ago and and she remembered me and made sure my stay there was comfortable. Unfortunately I've stayed at quite a few other facilities and NEVER was treated with such respect and kindness that she treated me with. She deserves a raise lol! On the other hand..I made a very good friend in my time staying there..we kept in touch and we were both struggling. I was trying to be a good girlfriend and put my own health aside waiting waiting for him. I now know know that I need further assistance than just detox . He's not even. Being a decent human being/and/or being nice about it. I tried called the Sterling location 5 times where my friend is. She told me there is in IN FACT beds available but the person on the phone wasnt so friendly..almost demeaning. He said "just because there's beds available doesn't mean there's beds available". I was very confused...almost like he didn't want to help me save my life. And he was just annoyed to be answering the phone. He told me over and over in an annoyed and stern voice as I was in tears to call back at 9am. Overall, I had a positive experience and appreciated the opportunity to learn in different hospital departments. However, I especially enjoyed my internships in Pastoral Care, Nursing Education, Human Resources, Pre-Admission, and Nursing Administration. I found the departments I enjoyed to be meaningful learning experiences, and I appreciated the chance to build workplace skills in a hospital setting. It took time for me to become comfortable socially in the program, but I later formed positive connections with other participants. I am giving 4 stars because the program offered valuable hands-on experience and several strong internship opportunities, although better matching of internships to each student’s career interests would make the experience even better. Update from week ago when Dr. Matilla talked to me about my moms condition. He was polite and and explained to me my moms condition so I could understand it in laymans terms. Some doctors do give off an impression of arrogance, but not this one. With 1 percent of hope god can and will do something for you if you recognize it. I have been Robert Woods Cheerleader sitting on the sidelines as they get to hard work everyday. I need to thank more of the parking attendants and valet. Next on the to do list. I see them sitting guarding the garage overnight sonetimes when i leave early or get something from my car. Honorable mention needs to go to Nurse Adam who first attended to my mom in the ER. He is a wonderful person who used to worked in the peace corps but now has a calling as very humble dignified nurse. Update: This is starting to feel like I am documenting the life of a nurse, tech, or hospital worker as I am here every day to see my mother. Sam is the nurse on duty and she seems nice enough…Robert wood has all kinds of nurses that perform all kinds of duties. Sam is one of the float nurses. As I go to grab my regular coffee in the refreshment room, I noticed Julie the day shift nurse is still here two hours past shift change…its labor day for gods sake! Laboring two hours past your shift on a holiday and of all days! Then, I bump into Nurse Martha and Nurse Nick as they both make it a point to ask me how my mothers condition is as they genuinely care about the status of her condition. Update: Tye and Brenda are night shift nurses that did not attend to my mother but they were pleasant conversation in the downtime of the night. They are there when you need them even if it is just for unit questions or to past the time away when I am visiting my mother. Nurse Sam and tech Maddie are polite and answer all my questions and are kind as can be. They do there normal duties without a hitch as my moms condition is steadily improving. Staff receptionist Maria greeted me with a pleasant demeanor and gave me another pass when I forgot my keys since I had already thrown away my other away on the way out. Update: Nurse Arian has got to be one of the most detail oriented and plesant nurses I have met so far. All the RNs are nice, but she really gives off positive and kind vibes moreso than any other nurse or tech. Update: Nurse Brady is attending to my mother. He is a male nurse and I especially respect male nurses and techs. Brady has been very pleasant asking me if I need anything. Nurse Deandra, Nurse Joyce and Tech Brenda are doing their duties and as always asking the status of my mothers condition and refilling low stock in the room of supplies. I thought I would leave my review as is, but I had to mention Nurse Johanna. She spent a good 20 minutes trying to fix the position of my mothers pillow just so my mom would not drool and wake up with a stiff neck. Nurse Octavia and Nurse Michael were pleasant during the day and so was Nurse Sage and tech Adwoa. I also wanted to mention the hard work overnight of Nurse Silvia, Nurse Tatiana, and Nurse Deandra when my mother had an episode the other night. Update: Nurse Andrew and tech Rachel have excellent bedside manners. Tech Aklya finishes her duties right before shift changes. Tony Chang 1 week ago I wrote a good review for the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center and I will do the same for floor 5 north in Robert Wood. I want to begin my mentioning this quote from a nurse I overheard while at the hospital. She said, “ I am not everybody or a nobody, but I am somebody”. Only a humble hardworking nurse would say something like that. In contrast to celebreties who love the attention because they are lacking something within their soul. I know the soul of a blue collar worker. I also am not everybody, definitely not a nobody, but I sure as heck am a somebody. Liz S. always greets me with a smile and always makes me feel welcome when I am visiting my mom for stage 4 lung cancer. The following staff have also been wonderful: Nurse Deandra, Sage,Jem,Paulina, Johana,Tatiana, Carmelli,and nurses Melina, Nick, Eugina, Jeremey,LJ and Sylvia, Mecca, Felicia, Miggie,Thelma and tech Fatima, Radiyah, tech Kiki, tech Nicole, Mya, John, Maddie, and tech Emanuel and Rollinsky and Rhea and tech Shy, and also security officer Joshua S. and officer Joel and receptionist Robin Y. On top of it all, I hear that they might have discovered a vaccine that destroys cancer from Moderna and I am just floored. Thank you Robert Wood…and for those that are suffering from cancer or have loved ones going through cancer please google Cancer Vaccine, it will give you alot of hope! Update: My mom is still trying to get through her infection and Eeg specialist Rahman is hard at work. I also finally found out the department that Dr. Meng who recently did a procedure that helped clear my mothers infection. He is a doctor from pulmonology. I do not want to take away from other patients at the hospital but, what I can say is if you wait and hang in there if you have cancer, I am pretty darn certain the cancer vaccine will fix you. It is in the works already for 10 different cancers but it could be coming in 2027 for mylenoma. I pray to god for all patients at the hospital because it works. I just know and it used to be blind faith but now it is real faith that is visible in the compassion of the hospital and its staff, also the asian guy who rings up my meal from the cafeteria and the guy behind the counter with the delicious ziti. Update: Officer Jay kindly directed me to 5 north when my mother first stayed here. I could not find it. and Dawn, and Anna are so nice at the front desk. Nurse Lakisha has been asking about my mom all the time making sure she is feeling well and Nurse Colleen has had a rough day and well thats all to common for the life of a nurse, doctor, tech or healthcare worker. Tough work, but not enough recognition. Update August 31, 2026. Patricia in the light blue scrubs who was brought in from a different floor of the hospital had such a pleasant demeanor while answering phones. As humble as they are, she told me she does not work on 5 North, but I told her it does not matter because all the healthcare workers deserve recognition. In addition, Nurse Katelyn was passing by and I had not had the chance to mention her in this review, but I see her working while I am here and they are always tired and exhausted. I feel like all the staff deserve more respect considering this is probably one of the busiest hospitals in nj. Update: it is not as chaotic during the night time, so I had the chance to thank Nurse Joyce the first nurse to receive my mom on 5 north. Update: Nurse practitioner Sarah G. prescribed lopresser in combination with metodrine which seemed to do the trick for my mothers out of whack vitals. No judgement, they really just want to help and are good humans! Also, the way they go about treatment, I felt really cared about , from the 1st day. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after.. I can't recommend this place enough. You attempt to make conversation about certain things, and they just shoot you down. 8 years ago My loved one had a traumatizing experience at Princeton House. She was accepted into a group program after making the incredibly difficult decision to get sober and address the issues that drove her to drink in the first place. After one week, the person who facilitated the meetings CALLED HER AT WORK to let her know that she could no longer attend the meetings and would have to transfer to another facility. She was told that someone else in the group felt uncomfortable with her being there because they shop in the store she works in. Princeton House dropped her at the most vulnerable point in her recovery, putting her at risk of relapsing or even hurting herself. They reserve the right to do this. This whole situation is first and foremost, unethical, but it goes beyond that to negligent and irresponsible. I would warn anyone who is considering Princeton House that this is a possible outcome, and I can only hope that this review prevents further damage to people seeking help. 9 years ago	3

But I find it incredibly difficult to please people going through psychiatric crisis, acute mental health issues, and detox from drugs and alcohol abuse. In fact, it's nearly impossible. So consider anything over 2.5 to be a near 5 star review. I just dropped off a friend here today, in fact I've dropped off many friends over the years. I myself checked into PH back in 2016. Coincidentally, that was also the last time I did drugs, in the parking lot before checking in. Obviously, I'm joking about the coincidental part, because Princeton House took care of me very well. The staff was friendly and professional, the nurses and PCAs where some of the the kindest and understanding people I've ever met, as I've been in many psychiatric facilities over the course of my life, as mental illness has plagued me since day one. At one point I had a serious condition that required me to need to be taken to a hospital briefly, the staff jumped into action, got me there quickly, had a member of the staff stay with me at the hospital the entire time to keep me company, so that I wasn't alone. The doctors at Princeton House worked with the doctors at the hospital, who quickly identified the problem, corrected it, and I was discharged and able to return to Princeton House within a matter of hours to continue my treatment. Let me say this clearly, these are good people, that truly care about the well-being of their patients. I'm not sure where I would be today, or if I'd be, without them. The thing I was actually most impressed with, was their ability to provide excellent aftercare. After getting my insurance to approve a longer stay, which I requested as the PH doctors, as well myself, thought I would benefit from a bit more inpatient care, they provided me with a full plan of everything from PHP, to IOP, financial services that I was able to utilize for free because I was a PH patient (this was something I did after my discharge), which helped me deal with debt and rebuilding credit. This would normally be a costly service, but it was just part of being a client of Princeton House. They helped me plan for my future in various different scenarios, so that I would be ready to deal with them should they occur. When I was finishing my IOP aftercare, they also helped me find a new one-on-one therapist, as well as a psychiatrist who specialized in dual diagnosis, that I now have a 10-year relationship with. In fact, I met many amazing people, staff and patient alike, that I'm still in touch with a decade later. Again, these are good people and this is a good place. If you want a better quality of life, and follow their suggestions, which I know is easier said than done, you can completely turn your life around. Thank you for taking care of me, and so many of my friends. I cannot recommend Princeton House highly enough. The suicidal drug addict, that was shooting dope in the parking lot, is a person I barely even remember thanks to the top tier treatment I received. It was great to be back on campus today, to remember how far removed I have become from that old terrible way of life. Feels like a lifetime ago. As someone who has been in a few different psychiatric hospitals, my best experience was at Princeton house. The social worker (Lauren) was amazing and really listened to me. I didn’t agree with the meds the dr was trying to change me to, but he didn’t force it on me and respected my decision. The food was the best I’ve had at a hospital. I was able to make connections with other patients and have support through them as well.
