One thing I am most grateful for is the environment and community that grew my positive energy. Everyone from my APN, Dee, my therapist, Michael who I have learned so much from. Jose, my case manager who has always went above and beyond to facilitate any other needs I had. And for Melvin who always was a leader and ready with a smile and positivity. I always felt comfortable and connected. It was always easy for everyone and myself yo be able to engage in group settings and that is a credit to the vibe and energy of each one of the therapists who ran each session. I went there over a year ago and and she remembered me and made sure my stay there was comfortable. Unfortunately I've stayed at quite a few other facilities and NEVER was treated with such respect and kindness that she treated me with. She deserves a raise lol!
On the other hand..I made a very good friend in my time staying there..we kept in touch and we were both struggling. I was trying to be a good girlfriend and put my own health aside waiting waiting for him. I now know know that I need further assistance than just detox . He's not even. Being a decent human being/and/or being nice about it. I tried called the Sterling location 5 times where my friend is. She told me there is in IN FACT beds available but the person on the phone wasnt so friendly..almost demeaning. He said "just because there's beds available doesn't mean there's beds available". I was very confused...almost like he didn't want to help me save my life. And he was just annoyed to be answering the phone. He told me over and over in an annoyed and stern voice as I was in tears to call back at 9am. Im just lucky im not someone who is WAY more fragile and sensitive amd nothing terrible happened 🥺

I was a client here back the beginning of the year. I had a phenomenal experience then... I relapsed and decided to return. I wholeheartedly regret my decision. BWR's choice to take clients straight out of jail and prison changed the entire community dynamic. This is not say those people, and not all, don't deserve help. Both in the clinical environment and the housing situation, staff were ill-equipped to handle the change in the social norm. More group "process" time was spent on jail house law than therapy. For clients that haven't been to or don't come from that background, BWR is doing those people a great a disservice. Having a "Community Leader" that AMA's to get high and then is welcomed back with a hero's adoration is abhorrent. Additionally, BWR was in transition between medical staff and a physical location change. Transition in my opinion was the focus not patient care. Many of my own concern were lost in their top heavy management. The latter, patient care should be penultimate.
Also, HIPAA patient rights were flagrantly violated particularly but not exclusively at the male housing location. Some of the housing staff, also a subcontractor, spent majority of time on texting or fraternizing with clients. One case in point was a supervisor that would allow clients into private office and were accommodated preferential treatment. This is not true of all staff, Senior/Director staff was great.
If BWR presorts to have a holistic approach to healing then dietary conditions are shamefully deplorable. The food was provided by yet another subcontractor, catering service. The "catering" staff were nice and accommodating with the few tools given them. The quality of food and choices were abominable. Chicken, chicken, and more chicken. Salads, wilted and stale were "healthy" option. There were a few meals that were a combination of left over meals. I am sure that each insurance company billed each client daily for fresh new food, not left overs. Unacceptable!
I do want to thank those who did help me, however, the business decision to include and rely on adjudicated clientele as a revenue stream has decimated the quality and integrity of BWR's program.

SHOUT OUT to the staff here..I have been to many many rehabs, and there is something different about these people, and this place..they are in my opinion, Earth Angels. No judgement, they really just want to help and are good humans! Also, the way they go about treatment, I felt really cared about , from the 1st day. I need a higher level of treatment but I will be going to Outpatient there after..
I can't recommend this place enough. They have no hard chairs that your ass goes numb from sitting in for hours, they have leather, lazy boy chairs, in the entire place, they have a quite room where you can rest if you are detoxing or dont feel good, they feed you great food, they have snacks and sodas and I was literally told "think of this place as your home away from home" and from the clinical staff, the nursing staff, the Dr., they're all special people. xoxoxoxo

Was brought in via EMS, admitted for 2 nights and 3 days in the adolescent unit. The hospital staff are incredible, caring and always smiling at all hours. The night neuro team came in while I was having an episode, instead of just making sure I was medically stable they held my hand and reassured me that they were right next to me and I'd be ok- all at 3 in the morning! Shout out to Nurses Kim, Sam, Heather; all the rest of the nurses in Adolescents; Doctor Sarah Yavelberg and the Peds team; and Art Therapist Christiana and Child Life Specialist Jasdeep 🩷🩷! I definitely felt safe, taken care of, listened to, validated and understood during my hospitalization.
Additionally, the place is very clean, aesthetically appealing, and well-designed. There was a bed with a separate curtain, light and tv for parent to stay overnight. Meals can be ordered from an extensive menu and are delivered to rooms. They changed sheets as often as requested, even multiple times a day.
