I came in with a positive mindset, open to any and everything they had to offer and was able to really take advantage of it all. One thing I am most grateful for is the environment and community that grew my positive energy. Everyone from my APN, Dee, my therapist, Michael who I have learned so much from. Jose, my case manager who has always went above and beyond to facilitate any other needs I had. And for Melvin who always was a leader and ready with a smile and positivity. I always felt comfortable and connected. It was always easy for everyone and myself yo be able to engage in group settings and that is a credit to the vibe and energy of each one of the therapists who ran each session. If this is your first time coming to treatment, Footprints gets an A++ from me. Its always tough to take that first step, but they do an amazing job of walking with you the rest of the way. She gets a A+ on work ethics in public settings :) tasha mcray 7 months ago The serve program in highland Park NJ, was awesome for my brother, was nice clean and even had a pool, I'd like to some how get in there myself, it's not bad, the staff seemed nice, that's the best place if you ask me, it's even near a park within a huge walking distance on a semi busy road so loved ones or family who plan on not visiting too much , make sure the staff is well capable of responsable enough to keep an eye on you son daughter or telative... In any facility you go in, their not all good, and there was no life gaurd at the pool, and staff doesn't go and check on anyone unless your not back on time, not good for someone who is alone with no family or support and has no one in their life ... And they don't want to help or council anyone, so if your looking for that , make other arrangements, Cheryl Gutschmidt 7 years ago I recommend anyone struggling with addiction or facing emotional or mental pain, that sometimes life brings to enjoy the opportunity that I had. My experience was great! The staff and Therapists were fantastic! These folks made my experience comfortable and enjoyable. The music program open a part of me that did not realized existed. My therapist Ashley was amazing, all the behavior techs were great they really care about their clients and their well being. My case manager Melvin made things extremely easy helping me take time off from work while I was in treatment. STR Bucks has been a blessing in my life and I recommend it to anyone struggling with substance abuse or mental health. Bonnie Petty 2 weeks ago I feel more comfortable staying “anonymous,” but I want to be open and honest about my experience I had. First, I cannot speak highly enough about my therapist, Steph Kinney. She is genuinely one of the best therapists I’ve ever worked with. 🥹❤️ She advocated for me, supported me, and consistently showed up for me throughout my stay. I truly would not be where I am today without her. I also feel incredibly grateful for the recovery coaches, Kyle, Mallory, the great alumni coordinator Eric. 🥰 They all brought so much compassion, encouragement, and genuine support to my recovery. Steph, Kyle, Mallory, and Eric are people I will always remember. Unfortunately, medication management and communication with certain nursing staff seriously need improvement. Withdrawal and tapering should be individualized because every patient responds differently. There’s literally only one nurse that cares and her name is Carol. All the other ones don’t know what they’re doing and also give you attitude and roll their eyes consistently… very welcoming for 28-30 days!!!! During my stay, I went nearly six to seven days with essentially no sleep while experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms, vomiting throughout the day, and requiring multiple ER visits. Despite this, I was still expected to attend every group and meeting, which I did. I genuinely question why someone experiencing severe withdrawal, extreme sleep deprivation, constant vomiting, and recent ER treatment would still be expected to attend every single group as if nothing was happening. There is a difference between encouraging accountability and recognizing when someone is medically struggling and needs appropriate care and rest. The nursing stuff also when my mom called completely disregarded her message telling her that I was doing fine without even checking in with me because they saw me leave my room one time, This already gave the suspicion to my mom that this was sketchy… (2nd ER Visit) Thankfully, after my concerns were escalated to higher management, they were eventually addressed and resolved. The overnight room checks also desperately need improvement. Extremely bright LED flashlights were frequently shined into the rooms and toward patients’ faces, even when we were clearly asleep and breathing. This continued throughout my full 30-day stay, not just detox. Between that and doors constantly slamming throughout the night, getting even 15-20 mins of sleep was near impossible. 👎 this is kind of sad to say, but if I knew that this was going to be the case, I would’ve had a better opportunity just relapsing at the leave of my own bed without Dookie stains.. Outside of those issues, I truly had a meaningful experience and met people who changed my life. Steph, Kyle, and Mallory, thank you for helping me find purpose again and reminding me that there was still so much worth moving forward for. ❤️ I will always be grateful for your support. Overall, I would give my experience 4/5 stars. There are some incredible people working here, but the medical management, communication, and overnight environment need significant improvement. He was in consistent contact with me on our concerns, listened not only to my son but me as a mom and my other son as a brother and took all of our concerns and feedback into his sessions with my son. Nurse Chaka and Nurse Esther, Brianna are attending or attended to my mom recently and they are super pleasant, Nurse mahmood and tech jessica attended to my mom the previous day and they have good bedside manners. As I was exiting, I lost my ticket and the parking attendant Basit and Kandji handled things perfectly. I realized long ago that if you treat everyone and anyone with sincerity and respect no matter there background or position you will get far. Thank you. Sorry, if people are getting sick of me and my posts and update, but please google cancer vaccine this is what got me so hyped up. Also, Robin Y the receptionist was friendly on my way out as always. Update from week ago when Dr. Matilla talked to me about my moms condition. He was polite and and explained to me my moms condition so I could understand it in laymans terms. Some doctors do give off an impression of arrogance, but not this one. With 1 percent of hope god can and will do something for you if you recognize it. I have been Robert Woods Cheerleader sitting on the sidelines as they get to hard work everyday. I need to thank more of the parking attendants and valet. Next on the to do list. I see them sitting guarding the garage overnight sonetimes when i leave early or get something from my car. Honorable mention needs to go to Nurse Adam who first attended to my mom in the ER. He is a wonderful person who used to worked in the peace corps but now has a calling as very humble dignified nurse. Update: This is starting to feel like I am documenting the life of a nurse, tech, or hospital worker as I am here every day to see my mother. Sam is the nurse on duty and she seems nice enough…Robert wood has all kinds of nurses that perform all kinds of duties. Sam is one of the float nurses. As I go to grab my regular coffee in the refreshment room, I noticed Julie the day shift nurse is still here two hours past shift change…its labor day for gods sake! Laboring two hours past your shift on a holiday and of all days! Then, I bump into Nurse Martha and Nurse Nick as they both make it a point to ask me how my mothers condition is as they genuinely care about the status of her condition. Update: Tye and Brenda are night shift nurses that did not attend to my mother but they were pleasant conversation in the downtime of the night. They are there when you need them even if it is just for unit questions or to past the time away when I am visiting my mother. Nurse Sam and tech Maddie are polite and answer all my questions and are kind as can be. They do there normal duties without a hitch as my moms condition is steadily improving. Staff receptionist Maria greeted me with a pleasant demeanor and gave me another pass when I forgot my keys since I had already thrown away my other away on the way out. Update: Nurse Arian has got to be one of the most detail oriented and plesant nurses I have met so far. All the RNs are nice, but she really gives off positive and kind vibes moreso than any other nurse or tech. Update: Nurse Brady is attending to my mother. He is a male nurse and I especially respect male nurses and techs. Brady has been very pleasant asking me if I need anything. Nurse Deandra, Nurse Joyce and Tech Brenda are doing their duties and as always asking the status of my mothers condition and refilling low stock in the room of supplies. First off Liz S. always greets me with a smile and always makes me feel welcome when I am visiting my mom for stage 4 lung cancer. Nurse Tatiana, Cabelli, and Marla, and nurses Melina, Nick, Eugina, Jeremey,LJ and Sylvia, Mecca, Felicia, Miggie,Thelma and tech Gabriel, tech Kiki, tech Nicole, Maddie, and tech Emanuel and Rollinsky and Rhea and tech Shy and also security officer Joshua S. And receptionist Robin Y. I apologize if I do not remember other nurses and healthcare workers on the floor but every single nurse and staff and tech were always working so hard to keep my mother and other patients on the floor as alive as possible. On top of it all, I hear that they might have discovered a vaccine that destroys cancer from Moderna and I am just floored. I do not know healthcare so this is the best I know how to help Robert Wood and Gods miracle workers. I especially enjoy meeting the male techs and nurses as they are doing wonders for reputation of men everywhere. I could learn a thing or two from them and so could others of my gender. Doctors and nurses are the true heroes on earth. The least I could do is help bring attention to the tough and often times stressful work of healthcare workers. Thank you Robert Wood…and for those that are suffering from cancer or have loved ones going through cancer please google Cancer Vaccine, it will give you alot of hope! Update: My mom is still trying to get through her infection and Eeg specialist Rahman is hard at work. I also finally found out the department that Dr. Meng who recently did a procedure that helped clear my mothers infection. He is a doctor from pulmonology. I do not want to take away from other patients at the hospital but, what I can say is if you wait and hang in there if you have cancer, I am pretty darn certain the cancer vaccine will fix you. It is in the works already for 10 different cancers but it could be coming in 2027 for mylenoma. I pray to god for all patients at the hospital because it works. I just know and it used to be blind faith but now it is real faith that is visible in the compassion of the hospital and its staff, also the asian guy who rings up my meal from the cafeteria and the guy behind the counter with the delicious ziti. (I do not know their names) They all contribute to the overall positive compassionate atmosphere. I also know I am not the most charismatic person around, but God the creator cares about your intentions not your vanity so I feel compelled to continue to mention all the light workers and blue collar workers I encounter at Robert Wood. God the creator empowered me to do this. I thank god the creator and that is all I will say anymore about religion or politics. That is all I will delve into about those topics. Update: Officer Jay kindly directed me to 5 north when my mother first stayed here. I could not find it. and Dawn, and Anna are so nice at the front desk. Nurse Lakisha has been asking about my mom all the time making sure she is feeling well and Nurse Colleen has had a rough day and well thats all to common for the life of a nurse, doctor, tech or healthcare worker. Patricia in the light blue scrubs who was brought in from a different floor of the hospital had such a pleasant demeanor while answering phones. As humble as they are, she told me she does not work on 5 North, but I told her it does not matter because all the healthcare workers deserve recognition. In addition, Nurse Katelyn was passing by and I had not had the chance to mention her in this review, but I see her working while I am here and they are always tired and exhausted. I feel like all the staff deserve more respect considering this is probably one of the busiest hospitals in nj. My kid was transferred from other out patient program. I definitely experienced what a big difference the service of High Focus comparing the other one. The facility might not be shining, but the service was right on spot. The staff are very experienced. They are calm, professional and compassionate. They don't response on minute to my email. But they know when to communicate with me and listen to all my important observation. They conducted the treatment in the right pace and told me to be patient when I was super worried. They provides parent education sessions which is very useful. The front office is also very friendly and responsible. I would highly recommend this place if you are searching the out patient program.
