East Coast Recovery is amazing! It’s amazing because the people that work there are incredible and they care very much about seeing clients succeed. I initially planned on being at East Coast on a week to week basis, not knowing how it was going to be before I got there. The service I received and the help I got far exceeded all of my expectations. I ended up staying for over three months. I moved on from East Coast Recovery center feeling confident and ready to fully participate in a life of recovery from substance use.

I’ve been here just 3 weeks and I can already tell the difference. I’m more grounded, mindful and feel more calm and peaceful.
GenPsych teaches you skills to deal with life. CBT, DBT, mindfulness, coping skills and much more. The entire staff is nice, knows exactly what they’re doing and they personalize treatment as much possible. Best thing that’s happened to me in the past 2.5 years ❤️

Going to the Livingston GenPsych was one of the best things I have ever done for myself - if not the best thing I have ever done for myself. The therapists there are incredible - Julie, Charlotte, Mike, Kayla, Eric are all fantastic, incredible people who have changed so many lives including my own. They truly care. The office receptionist, Provy, is a queen and a kind, friendly face who instantly makes you feel safe and the security guard, Max, is a gem as well. It is such a great, loving place and it is what you make it. The DBT program saved my life - it is hard, but give yourself up to it. :)

Over the past few years, Hazelden Betty Ford has been a steady anchor in my recovery. The counselors are top notch and, more importantly, genuinely caring—they listen without judgment, remember the details, and offer practical, real-world guidance.
Group sizes are small and manageable, so you actually get personal attention. The vibe among patients is supportive and motivated. Most folks are there because they want to be, and that makes a huge difference.
I’ve participated in IOP, outpatient groups, individual therapy, DBT, CBT, and trauma-informed work. The DBT class, in particular, was a life changer—the skills are concrete and I use them every day.
Over my time at Hazelden, I’ve gained tools to rebuild routines, reduce cravings, improve relationships, and maintain sobriety. Great service offered to persons in need they have a methadone clinic and a residence. It is like a one-stop shop except there is no detox service offered. There are groups and structured programs for clients. I know of persons who have used the service and are now successful. If they did it, so can others. ‘Hurt People , Hurt People’. I needed a free therapist and was able to have 5 intake sessions with a pleasant young woman. I benefited from these sessions as it is always rewarding when we analyze and acknowledge what is going on in our lives. So much was happening for me and I was not able to attend all the assigned sessions. Management was not able to communicate in a responsible or mature manner; I wonder maybe they too are prior clients who have graduated but do not have a total grip on their situation and sometimes need help themselves. My very pleasant intake person became insensitive, cold, ‘passive aggressive’ and quite non communicative. I lead the conversation and realized that I was being ‘expelled’. I really don’t know the reason as I do believe she has her own issues and the Leadership is not of a strong foundation with knowledge of servicing a diverse clientele. Such a shame because this has the potential to be a top notch program in a great community. I only wish I was able to find an experienced, strong, qualified leadership that is familiar with diversity and respect. I was feeling hurt as this was the second time I had to deal with leadership’s lack of sensitivity. It should not be just a JOB when people come to you for help. Fix the structure of this place.

I made it to the clinic and Jasmine and Donna Marie helped me with my situation. Jasmine is a wonderful caring woman and she made me feel right at home... First time meeting her. And Donna Marie... my one on one therapist was fine its just the entire rest of the company sucks.
the billing department either doesnt know how to pick up the phone or just gives a half assed response and the problem isnt resolved at all. theres literally 0 communication with them. even just trying to get my OWN documents is "confidential information". but its totally fine if another person in the group sessions can stream private information to their entire family. customer service side sucks too youd have more productive conversation with a brick wall then trying to get a word in with them
the outpatient program is awful too. please dont go here it isnt worth it at all. you do not get taught anything either. its basically like theyre talking to kindergarteners instead of fully grown adults.
genuinely please do not pick this place unless you want 0 communication outside of any sessions. this was one of the biggest wastes of my time and money that i will never get back.

I'm actually still a patient in the hospital right now. Only problem I have is the food is to bland. So nasty. They definitely need a better cook. But the staff is amazing. Kerri Ann, kat, and the entire 4th floor ICU and the entire 5th floor staff is amazing. They definitely goes above and beyond for the patients. The doctor's are amazing. Wonderful nurse staff. They talk with patients and explain everything in details. Attitudes are amazing. Definitely no complaints. Housekeeping is amazing. Transport is amazing. I was a patient here 13 years ago, and still clean to this day. I am currently attending school to become an addiction counselor, and I couldn’t help but think about my out patient counselor from so many years ago :) This process was by far not easy, but I just had to come here and give high praise to my counselor Jim. I don’t know if he is still there but he was amazing and saved my life. He was kind and patient and relatable… the three things we all really need when getting ourselves and our lives back together during a difficult time. Paterson Recovery had a calm, steady vibe that made the hard stuff feel doable. I went to this facility for a planned same-day surgery. The facility is very clean and modern appearing. The staff were all very kind and knowledgeable. I was rather anxious leading up to the procedure and the nurses were excellent with thoroughly explaining what to expect. This, coupled with excellent bedside manner helped to calm my nerves. UPDATE: I want to update my review after staying there. Let me start with the positive.... a HUGE thank you to the nurses in Pediatrics who help with surgical recovery. They are amazing and will go the extra mile to help patients. Im very grateful to them. I found all staff to be kind. What I would say is some areas of the hospital need updating. The OR looks dated and is extremely cold while the Pediatric until has rooms that are too hot. There seems to be poor temp regulation. But again, tell staff and they do their best to adjust things for you. Another suggestion is the food in recovery. I was given post op foods that had red dye 40, high fructose corn syrup and gluten...even though I explained I had a gluten sensitivity and didnt want anything with that. These are not good recovery foods to help a body. They create inflammation and issues. Whole clean foods is the way to go when a body needs to recover from trauma. Our country is antiquated in this area. Lastly, it would be nice to have warm blankets available right as someone is transitioning out of anesthesia. Those are my honest suggestions.
I will update this review as needed. During my first experience at Hoboken, I found the hospital to be dated and a bit dingy which gave me reservations about scheduling a surgery there. Then I reviewed the reviews and I have to say, I grew even more concerned about the level of care provided while in the recovery rooms. I dont know if this has changed but I seriously hope the hospital takes these reviews onto consideration and does something to improve patient experiences. The reviews in conjunction with the dated appearance are going to prevent people from selecting this hospital for a surgical preference which wont be good for the hospital. Also, does the staff feel appreciated? If not, this trickles down to patient care.

Disturbing Lack of Professionalism and Accountability
My experience at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital was absolutely unacceptable. The social worker, Afia Adigyaa, was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional, showing zero concern for patient welfare. Her supervisor, Luckdjyne Neas, made matters worse by ignoring multiple calls and emails when I tried to resolve serious discharge issues.
They even blamed the patient for leaving medication behind, when it was clearly the hospital staff’s responsibility to ensure all prescriptions were provided at discharge. This level of negligence and disregard for patient safety is alarming. The social worker /Discharge department urgently needs retraining and oversight — no family should ever have to experience this kind of mistreatment or incompetence.

I have had a great experience with the VA staff in general. Scheduling has never been a problem and they send me plenty of reminders. Everyone I've interacted with seems to take their job seriously, and really cares.
I'm writing this review primarily because of a specific recent experience:
At my appointment I had blood drawn and a flu shot.
When I was scheduling my next appointment in the lobby, I started to feel extremely dizzy and lightheaded. I'm stubborn, and I was in the infantry, so I tried to tough it out. I figured if I could just finish my scheduling I could just go pass out in my car in private.
One of the staff members noticed and immediately took me to the back of the clinic. They took my vitals, gave me water, and sat me down.
All of the staff were caring and showed compassion the entire time. I felt bad for inconveniencing everyone but they would not accept any of my apologies.
I'm very grateful for the way I was treated. I was very embarrassed but was given dignified, understanding treatment that anyone in a similar situation would be fortunate to receive.
