Jaime Schamble 7 months ago Even coming through the admission process was very comforting, and made me feel at ease compared to other places I called. As soon as I arrived and did my intake process, the nurses were very nice, helpful, and took care of every one of my needs to help me get through my detox process. Once detox was completed, I was able to go out on activities like the movies, bowling, and an Equine therapy every Monday. Avatar has a big facility and a lot of outside games clients can play on their free time like basketball, a brand new weightlifting facility, corndog, volleyball, at this point, you should get the point lol. The Therapy I received from the counselors here was very helpful. They taught me many tools that I can use to combat triggers or how to deal with toxic people in my life. I’m very grateful to all of them and will take everything they’ve taught me home and use it to the best of my ability to change my life to a productive, action-oriented life in recovery! The food was also fantastic. As many other reviews have stated, it’s 5-star quality itself. You have the ability to get a single room usually after detox and that is something that I was very grateful for. Not having to share a bathroom or a room with somebody who’s not on top of their hygiene or is as clean as I am would’ve probably made me miserable anywhere I’ve went. So I’m very grateful for Avatar giving me my own private room where I don’t have to worry about anything being stolen or messy or the room smelling. Thank you to everyone that Avatar that played a viral role in my treatment process. I’m very grateful to have come here and experience everything I have. My husband was sick with high fever, turns out he had pneumonia. Every person who interacted with us was very kind, helpful, responsive, courteous, caring and prompt. They took him in quickly. Assigned him a nice room with a door and curtain. Everywhere was clean, everything and everyone was very orderly. They quickly did the work up, started the IV fluids, gave the nebulizer and painkillers. Dr. Nick was very cool. Big thanks to our nurse Ryan, super organized, super helpful. My husband received the treatment he needed, was feeling much better when we were leaving. We were done in less than 4 hours. We certainly did not expect our ER experience to turn out this way. I’ve been here just 3 weeks and I can already tell the difference. I’m more grounded, mindful and feel more calm and peaceful. GenPsych teaches you skills to deal with life. CBT, DBT, mindfulness, coping skills and much more. The entire staff is nice, knows exactly what they’re doing and they personalize treatment as much possible. The therapists there are incredible - Julie, Charlotte, Mike, Kayla, Eric are all fantastic, incredible people who have changed so many lives including my own. They truly care. The office receptionist, Provy, is a queen and a kind, friendly face who instantly makes you feel safe and the security guard, Max, is a gem as well. This high level of service made me feel more like a guest at a luxury hotel than a patient. The most memorable moment of kindness came from an employee taking out the trash, who greeted me with an incredibly warm and gentle smile. They create a safe, supportive space where families can share, listen, and learn from each other. We found ourselves looking forward to these meetings—not only to gain insight and guidance, but also to support others at different points in their own journeys. I recently switched due to moving and it’s the biggest regret I’ve had yet in my 8 years of sobriety. I had no idea how lucky I was going to MCAC. They truly love you and treat you with respect.
