DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES HEREMy mom fell and broke her hip and had surgery. After the third day of her being so drugged up she couldn't open her eyes we told them to stop the oxy. They didn't give it to her while we were there but once we left they would give it to her again. She couldn't even open her eyes or speak. Again we would tell the doctor no oxy. She thing next day. By about the 6th day of laying in the bed drugged up fluid started building up in her lungs so they sent her to PCU where they tied her arms to bed and we were told it was because she was trying to get up. She couldn't even open her eyes or function so how could she get up. After 2 weeks we were able to get her out of there and she is now in another facility trying to recover from the damage. She has fluid on her lungs, her kidneys aren't working properly, she hassome confusion and her speech is not clear.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehab enables clients to receive addiction treatment while continuing to work and reside at home. Many programs offer evening, night, and weekend services so that clients may receive treatment on their own schedule. Outpatient treatment modalities typically include addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Many programs also provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient services, to align with clients' evolving needs.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) travel to treatment centers for specialized care multiple times per week. Intensive outpatient treatment allows clients to receive robust care while continuing to live at home. Most programs require between nine and 20 treatment hours per week, with the frequency and intensive of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. Services generally include a combination of addiction counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery-focused life skills training, and holistic therapies.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
A drug intervention in Georgia is designed to encourage an individual to get the treatment they need. This effort aims to break through resistance and motivate the individual to get help. The process typically involves loved ones sharing their concerns with the individual and how their substance use has affected those who care about them. A professional interventionist can help guide this conversation and explain from the clinical side how treatment can be beneficial.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

During rehab in Georgia, you may engage in motivational interviewing. This typically lasts one to two sessions and is designed to address any ambivalence you have toward change. It helps you explore your current situation and motivations and commit to making changes for the future.

In trauma therapy, you address the emotional and psychological effects of traumatic events in your life. Your therapist provides you with the tools you need to process those memories and reduce the symptoms. This helps improve your overall mental health and functioning.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Many life skills involve coping with emotions and stress. Others involve completing tasks that allow you to live independently. Examples include finding a job, managing finances, and nutrition. During rehab in Georgia, you'll work on any skills that are lacking to ensure you have the tools for success post treatment.

Nutrition therapy has short term and long term goals. In the short term, it helps restore your health so you can recover from the physical effects of addiction. Long term, it helps you understand overall health and nutrition to set you up for a healthy lifestyle in recovery.

By incorporating recreational therapy into an addiction treatment program in Georgia, you learn to discover new interests and develop health and healthy coping mechanisms. Activities could include painting, group sports, or yoga. These encourage social interaction and support your physical fitness, which are vital factors in a successful recovery journey.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

I am 52 years old with life threatening health issues and have been a patient in many different hospitals in 4 different states throughout my life. With all the medical experiences in my life I can honestly say ATRIUM HEALTH NAVICENT is the absolute worst hospital i have ever experienced in my life time. During my 3 day stay in this hospital I was treated with no respect, no dignity, no care, continuous threats, medical negligence by all medical staff and no human decency among many other things. I also witnessed another patent being treated in similar ways. I have spoken with a couple admin personnel and only received out right lies, distain, disrespect, excuses, manipulation tactics and patient blame. There is nothing that can be done to change what I was made to endure during my stay and after but I will continue to do what I can to correct this for other patients. I no longer feel safe or comfortable having any kind of interaction with any form of medical or non medical personnel in the state of Georgia. I can not in good conscience recommend this hospital or any facility connected to ATRIUM HEALTH to a dog let alone a human being.

I am a disabled veteran that was rear ended while visiting Macon. I hurt my head and the ambulance that came to the scene said I should come to this hospital in case I had trauma. It was horrible upon arrival. It also had a horrible smell. My room was filthy with gnats flying around. The nurse, Bethany was rude and insulted my intelligence during a conversation about a cat scan and she had some kind of condition that looked contagious. What happened to medical professionals having compassion for patients? Some other ladies (Nurses ?)came in and helped me and the one star goes to them because they were nice as one escorted my mother to my room and the other removed my IV. I elected to leave and go to another hospital that would tear me like I am human. As stated by all of the other reviews , don’t go to this place. It needs to be shut down, exterminated, thoroughly cleaned, and staffed with medical professionals that care.

I only give a single star for the few staff workers that are actually worth something here. however response time to a majority of the doctors and their neglect of actually listening to their patients is disgusting. To think that they would treat patients who serve their country this way is absolutely mind boggling. Too many have a superior complex that needs to be knocked down multiple pegs and need to actually take their patients seriously. too many nights i listened over phone calls with floor nurses of being blown off when communicating of severe pain. Guess we were not important enough. Even when they do come around, many come with attitude and leave you feeling unheard and cared for. I just cant.

The bad attitude of the nurses scares me. I feel my wife would be safer in a prison hospital than this one. They would call me to come pick her up at the last minute. I'm not going use this hospital anymore.

They are no good, they will take your loved ones against their will if they are not treated properly they will have them in the psychiatric Ward. It’s best to go with them at all times, if it’s not a serious issue take them to a medstop.

Dr. Vaughn an absolute professional very caring. And any residents training under him will be the best providers if they follow his methos. Working in Healthcare is no easy feat. Nurses Anthony, the nurse he turned over with her name escapes me but she was on her last hour on her shift so sweet! Techs Darlene and Mia so sweet and compassionate. There were two that represent the empty star Nurse Wanda and Tech Rekita. They had attitude and displayed an uncaring non compassionate demeanor it was startling. Nurse Wanda could be going thru something or suffering from healthcare fatigue but she didnt return to check IV placement when it was brought to her attention and i had to ask for patient transport twice after she asked us to specifically tell her when were at the curb. The first time we got the car ready at the pick up waited for 15min my mom was still waiting in the room. Cant park in the drop off/pick up area so i had to go back in and ask for transport again. When we walked out of the room we saw Nurse Wanda ran from the hallway to seek refuge in an empty patient room after locking eyes with us. Idk why. I dont think we were complicated or difficult. I asked for a warm blanket for my mom they didnt have a blanket warmer on that floor (7th Main Building) we layered up. My husband and i stayed overnight and are both Navy Corpsmen so we shared sympathy and would do as much on our own with what was allowed (we asked for permission each time) so to not constantly call the nurse station for trivial things.

Just the absolutely worst experience in a hospital ever. The services are all so slow, so don't expect expedient service. If you are really sick go to Piedmont. If you are not you will be by time they get done with you, if you don't get out of there asap. My son went in with dangerously high blood pressure and caught MRSA in there. Got pressure monitored with 3 different mechanism and they all read different. And... they still didn't get his pressure under control. The absolute worst experience. The last nurses were inexcusable. Thankfully we stayed with him 24/7 or he might not have made it out of there alive. The alarms on the monitor and medicine drip was going off, with no response from the nurses unless we call them. Pitiful! Just pitiful!!

I drove 3 hours to get to this hospital because it’s supposed to be very good…. They have a charging station but of course all the type c charges are ripped up… I alerted the front I was going to my car to get a charger I’ll be back in a few. I left my drinks and food with my papers and belongings and were gone for just a few minutes. I come back to all my stuff being threw away and they offer me no drink no snack and they threw away $15 worth of food… spent my last money on gas to get here and food because I’ve been sick for 2 years and nobody can tell me anything but I come here with hope…. But if the front don’t care about throwing away food that you bought that were clearly full of drink and food they obviously won’t care about what’s wrong with you. I have digestive issues so I can’t eat and drink everything so I brought my food and drink with me so I would have and the hospital took it and threw it away and basically said screw it.

I only use one physician in this network. The only way to make and appointment or get any information is to use an automated phone system. In four years, twice I had need to make an appointment in addition to my annual follow-up and twice I was unable to make the appointment because no one ever returned a call. Last week I needed to request medical records and 24 times the system hung up on me before anyone answered. I finally spoke to a person who did not do what she said she was going to do. Time to find another physician and stay away from this group.
