These drug-free environments can help individuals transition from inpatient rehab to day-to-day life. Typically, residents stay for at least 90 days, but they can remain for as long as they continue to abide by halfway house rules. These include maintaining sobriety, contributing to household chores, paying rent, and abiding by a curfew.
