Absolute lack of compassion, too busy to ever address concerns as much is overlooked. Misdiagnosis runs rampant - do not trust these so-called medical professionals. The only reason this facility is still around is due to their team of lawyers. If you are having any sort of issue, seek anywhere else, please. It could save your life. They are NOT friendly to anyone neurodivergent or LGBTQA+, especially in the psychiatric department among misgendering and unethical treatment of patients. They cover their ass very well and weave a nice story for their legal team, but if you are one of the ones that have been discriminated against there is hope as The Advocates for Trans Equality is on the case and I urge you to contact that organization and share your experience. The entire staff needs to be gutted, you can't train poor attitude and lack of compassion. I'm sure there are some good ones trying to help, but they are complacent to what happens there due to the lack of jobs in the area. Gut the staff, pay and invest in good staff, and invest in training regarding neurodivergent and trans individuals.Unrelated to the lack of basic respect, discrimination, and bigoted comments - several people in my family were misdiagnosed from this hospital which caused them suffering until they found a competent doctor. They will also blame legitimate problems on mental illness, especially if you are female or a minority. They also enjoy employing nurses who talk and gossip loudly all night, to the point you know everything about the person in the room next to yours. This community deserves better, and many of the professionals here need a different career since the constant emotional burnout seems to have fried their brains and any common decency.

Accepted Insurance

Bridges of Rappahannock Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

I was seen in the Emergency room after a bad bout of the flu that became possible pneumonia. I was given fluids, a chest X-ray, an EKG for no reason other than running up the bill and a prescription for cough meds and an antibiotic. Total I was in the hospital for approximately one and a half hours. The Emergency room desk people were rude. The triage nurse was rude. The doctor and nurses in the actual ER were friendly enough. For this short period of time and not much in the way of treatment I was billed nearly $3000.00. This hospital is crooked. They are theives taking advantage of sick people that don't have any other close by option. Only go here as an absolute last resort or if you have incredible insurance. Never again for me unless my death is guaranteed soon.

First, let me say that the staff was great. But, they use robot Drs if you are admitted to the hospital. These so called doctors are outpatient on my insurance. Had I known this and that I was going to be taken care of by a so called robot doctor I would have never let them admit me. Insurance barely covers anything now let alone out patient cost more.

Recently had services done. I felt welcome from registration all the way to the services that I had rendered. This facility has always had a hometown feel, and the staff are always friendly.

My husband & I have both had excellent service and care in the ER. From the friendliness of the staff beginning with registration to the professional & compassionate care of the physicians & nurses, our visits met high quality standards. From our positive experiences, I do not hesitate to recommend.

Took my son to the ER at 4pm on a Sunday and Dr. Van Leer said he needed an ultrasound. Easy enough, right? Well, US tech went "off call" at 3pm and Dr. Van Leer couldn't promise we'd get the ultrasound done the following day - considering the need was immediate I felt this was unacceptable at best. I then had to rush to Richmond, two hours away. Icing on the cake - patient registrar kept pushing two things: 1) 20% discount on a false $500 copay (I knew our ER copay was $200), 2) ambulance transfer to Richmond (which was unnecessary and another money grab). Do yourself and your loved ones a favor if at all possible, skip this "medical facility" and drive to Richmond straight from the start.

I just returned home from an A++ experience at RGH Emergency. All of the staff, technicians, nurses and Dr Heimbach were efficient, professional and provided exceptional care.

This hospital has improved over the last two years but has a long way to go. It used to be, "don't go there if you don't have to" Now the staff and rooms and emergency is much better a simple thing like the phones are a large problem. The people at the front seem to be okay and that is where is all falls apart. There is instructions that are not coherent, poorly recorded and don't work when an option is chosen. People who have phone responsibility NEED to speak good English and Comprehend what is being asked for.

Today been waiting 5 hrs thus far (bleeding the whole time) still sitting in the Waiting room unseen thus far. Skip this horrible understaffed worthless so called hospital.
