Charlotte Hall, Maryland | Pyramid Healthcare in Charlotte Hall, Maryland, is a comprehensive residential addiction treatment center. They help adult men and women experiencing substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. Formerly called Walden Treatment Center they’ve been helping clients in recovery for over 40 years. Time and transportation | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I came here in 2018 when I was at rock bottom and finally ready for a change and today I can say that it was life changing for me. I've been clean ever since and have rebuilt a happy life down in Florida near the beach. I don't remember names but my counselor was amazing, and there was another really pretty lady in heels who was a Capricorn that was amazing as well. Anyways thank you guys for facilitating one of the most pivotal moments in my life. Will be forever grateful.

Walden has employees who are very dedicated & compassionate where adults in their care are concerned. Thru covid nightmares making a huge hindrance in allowing group meetings for some time, dedicated staff realized the importance of interaction with others who have walked the same nightmare. National shortage of trained help I am sure impacts their jobs, but I sincerely feel Walden's employees work there for the right reason..often saving a person's life. Their satisfaction at times when in the future seeing one of the 'flock' leading a normal, happy life when they run into them in public tells me they are there to make a viable difference. Thanks to all of Walden's angels in disguise for this!

Let's face it every program isn't gonna be 🌈 and ✨ we are there to get clean. Thts the primary purpose. So for me to complain about the food is ridiculous cuz I barely ate b4 I even went in there. And definitely disagree about them leaving u alone while you are in detox they do an assessment every 4 hrs. I couldn't get them to leave me alone all I wanted to do was sleep. But shout out to the nursing staff ⚕️ I loved all of you. My warmest hugs 🤗 to Kimmy Ms. Deb Jennifer Emma Ms. Lisa oh my my my I can't forget Toby and Kim y'all do a heck of a job cleaning us up. Renika do her thing with those dessert 🎂 and Ted those French toast, idk wht u do but keep on doing it and NeNe girl keep putting tht soul in it. Lol 🤣 I miss y'all already. In a nutshell the program gonna be what you put into it. You can have fun while getting clean or be miserable 😖 and still get clean. The choice is yours but it's not my place to blame it on a facility when I need to look at the behaviors I still carried with me. Thanks for having me. Ms. CeCe I'll be back for your I mean MY clothes 😂🥰 Oh yea by far my favorite counselor award goes to Nicole but Sheron u definitely pulled a lot out of me so u lost points for making me feel to much and crying lol. And Troy hands down best House Keeper. And u saw me day one a hot mess and never judged appreciated that. I could go on and on about things I didn't like but today it's about change and everything I didn't like was exactly what I needed to learn and grow in my recover. Hope to see y'all soon only on this side of the street. Best wishes to you all.

DO NOT GO HERE. THE ADMIN STAFF IS AWFUL! PLEASE BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!
If I could give this practice a 0 star rating I would. I could write a novel going in great detail why this is the worst therapy practice I have ever been too but it mostly just boils down to the lack luster admin and billing staff. I wish I would have read the reviews before going here because it would have saved me a lot of stress. A place where people seek help for their anxiety, depression or other mental health issues, you’d think the staff wouldnt be the ones to heighten that. This review has nothing to do with the services I actually received from my therapist, as they were great. The issue was the admin staff. They are terrible. They are rude, uncaring and unapologetic. I have been going to this practice for over a year and have had multiple issues with them, especially their office manager and Director of operations, Desiree and Kenya. Unfortunately due to said issues and their lack of resolution, I had to discontinue services which is saddening considering I’ve been working with my therapist for over a year and have made great progress. For those of you who have gone to therapy before know how hard it can be to find a therapist in general, get into an appointment without a huge wait and click with your therapist. Their admin staff is ruining that for its patients. Tragic. The other reviews speak for themselves, as does they 2 star rating… do better WTG. The owner needs to consider a restructure or something before their admin runs away all of their patients. However, I’m not sure that upper management is that worried about their behavior, as I asked to speak with the clinical director to share my experience in hopes this would make a difference or spark a need for proper etiquette/training for staff but I never was contacted by upper management. It seems no one actually cares here.
PS. Past/current patients, check your bank accounts. I was over billed multiple times by this practice. I check my bank account daily so I noticed the overages and contacted them immediately. This issue is what led to my ultimate decision to leave, coupled with their ‘’managers’ unprofessionalism.

I have been at Good Hope Institute for almost 6 years, and in my opinion it's no better and no worse than any other methadone maintenance program. I've been on methadone maintenance for over 30 years and have been at many different facilities, so I believe I know a good one from a bad one. At GHI, you get from it what you put into it. If you want to get clean and stay clean you can; if you want maintenance you can do that, or you can detox. No one is getting rich from keeping someone on the program who doesn't want to be there. One thing you cannot do there is drift along continuing to get high and drinking methadone, and you cannot come in with a sense of entitlement or a nasty attitude and expect people to jump over hoops to do what you want. With all the addicts they're dealing with, and the turnover lately in staff yes, things can sometimes move a little slower than we'd like, but no where on earth are you going to get all your desires instantly! Sometimes you have to be patient, and this program is no different.
GHI is not a bad clinic. Sometimes staff there have not been as caring as they could have been, and there have been those who had downright nasty attitudes. They're individual people though, they do not represent the whole clinic. If you want to get off opiates and you're not afraid to work to stay clean you can do it at Good Hope Institute.
UPDATE: As of this year, 2019, Good Hope Institute no longer exists as such. They are a completely different clinic, run by completely different management and under a new system. Any of the posts from before, they're talking about a completely different clinic.
And I still say if a person is willing to put the work in, they can get and remain clean just as well here as anywhere else.
