I go to therapy due to me having Macular Degeneration and health issues that has me totally stressed out. I sought help. My health has declined and I was so overwhelmed with everything. People please protect your mental and your peace. I am fighting a battle in which many people do not understand, unless it is happening to them or a loved one. A battle in which I do not wish upon anyone. Its me today but can be you tomorrow. This world has no compassion or empathy for those whom are suffering. My disease is a hidden disability and because I do not look like I feel I am judged and criticized. I feel so sick, alone, afraid, and helpless. Despite all the medical evidence that proves my claim they still think its not true. I am really suffering behind most often a painted smile. However, now im tired. Crying and screaming within. Why is all this happening to me? I never have time to catch my breath. Being blind or legally blind is not easy. One day I could see and then suddenly you can barely see anything. The world changed just like that. Shame on those who do not have a heart and who is trying to break mines with their opinions. Who do you turn to when there is nowhere or noone to turn to? This is a shout out for Cynthia who takes calls and does the clerical part. She's efficient, empathetic, and has gone above and beyond helping me with a family member. It is so appreciated you have no idea! It starts from the front desk on the way back. Working in an office myself the front desk can be overlooked but they are very very much part of the team. And I can't thank her enough and as far as the providers especially Cassandra the therapist!! the rest of the staff has been great! Thank you all 🙏

I had a great stay in Waldorf location. Everything was excellent. I plan on a person who stays active with the Alumni Program. They have an outstanding coordinator, Brittany R what a wonderful person and her story is amazing. She cares deeply about US and the company. If you have a family member, friends or self in need of treatment, call RCA. It's important to connect with Tammy who manages admissions. She is a vital part of the company. Where to start… This is quite the recovery facility. Not only does it test your fortitude and determination for recovery, but helps to foster stability, happiness, mental health, self worth, sobriety, fellowship, and the pursuit of a recovery based future. The relationship between a corporate entity and the intimacy necessary to provide to all walks of life trying to recover from substance abuse and poor mental health can be a brittle and fragile bond. What works for some will not work for others. This fact makes running an establishment such as RCA Capital Region quite the challenge. There are people who have the gift and ability to help everyone strive in recovery at this facility though. One who stands out the most is Brittany Rieman. She has an astonishing story, that has given her the ability to relate to any and all patients within RCA, past present and future. Brittany is strong willed and proud of the things she has overcome along her journey. This gives people hope both in and out of the rooms, all across the board. It shows the tenacious way to be when trying to over come something such as substance addiction. Or poor mental health. The fact that RCA provides a counselor/therapist to their patients is a hugely valuable and important aspect to recovery. Strong mental health is the beginning of a successful journey in any aspect of life. Pastor Kenneth White is one of the therapists on staff at the Capital Region and he leaves a lasting impression on his patients as well. He relates to them in so many ways both on a personal and clinical level. Ms.Rachel and Mr.Tim are two group instructors who apply the information to their own struggles and experiences which makes the education personal and meaningful. Finally Ms.Tammy, this is a woman who genuinely cares about the struggle and experiences each and every patient has which are all their own. No one knows what it’s like to live in someone else’s struggles. Within RCA though you are surrounded with people who double as both peers and mentors who’ve made some of the same mistakes you have but also offer a different perspective of the same or similar situations. Experience is one of the best educators there is, the curriculum shared here in the respective styles of group instructors leaves a lasting impression for those who are ready to let go of their old habits and way of life.

I had a great experience at this facility and couldn’t have asked for any better. The entire facility is beautiful, warm and inviting. The staff from every department were super friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. I checked in after having a bad experience at another local facility and can tell you it was night and day in comparison. I met a lot of great people and as strange as it may sound, I was a bit sad to leave. I highly recommend Alpas as it’s the best place to be for recovery.

I will rate Chrysalis House based on when I was there and when it was being ran by different staff and Mrs Carisaa was there. Other than that I can not speak for the program after Mrs. Carissa left. When I was there it was tough but it is what i needed. I have never been to a program that actually cared and literally internally got to me dug up some buried issues and I worked on them. Mrs. MELVINA was my counselor, she was amazing. Most of the staff had went through addiction. Mrs Denise was amazzziiinnggg i never felt uncomfortable, leaving my son with them during the day. The whole staff at that time was amazing. Yes, it was very strict, but they did it in a loving way because they did not want us to die. I know countless women That graduated the Chrysalis House and are still clean. I have ten fifteen, close lifelong friends that I had met at Chrysalis and that are still clean to this day. I have never went to a treatment that had this much success. Like I said, I cannot speak for the new staff, but it sounds like it is still a great program.While I was there and before I left, they were building on the new addition which was beautiful.It was finished before I left but was not open yet. A woman and children's program is needed and I hope that this one is ran as good as it was when I was there.I'm sure it is. I felt so safe with my children. I'll forever be grateful for Mrs. Carissa and all the staff.

I was someone who stayed here for so time almost a year. I know you can't please everyone but they did try to. Most of the residential staff was wonderful very attentive to the clients needs. The two that I felt that went beyond their job was Simone and Melissa I felt very safe and comfortable w them and they are some of the most compassionate, caring staff I have come across I truly believe they are at their job not only for a paycheck but to help. Thank you to all the residential staff. The clinical team here is beyond amazing I am actually lost for words how much the team does. They are all very passionate about their job and they make u feel welcomed and safe . I honestly believe if you are willing to chose recovery Chrysalis House will and can help 💯

From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. The place had a super chill energy, kind of like a breath of fresh air after all the chaos I’d been through .What hit different was the way they blended structure with real understanding. This place is full of love, compassion and dedication to helping patients become their best selves. Went here as an adolescent and I'm glad to see it's still there and that mark and his adventure therapy is still a thing. I still remember the course. Thank you for helping me. Though I did sadly relapse a few years later. But I'm clean now and I have over ten years under my belt. I remember the food was good too that's always a plus cuz you never wanna eat depending on what drugs you were on.

I visited Arundel Lodge’s mental health Urgent Care during a mental health/domestic violence crisis where I was unhoused and very unwell. I had been discharged prematurely and without proper treatment by the AAMC ED twice, BWMC ED twice, and Harbor Hospital ED once, even with a ongoing case file from police and Crisis Response, as well as a petition for treatment by an Officer. I was exhausted, sick, diagnosed with ketoacidosis from lack of nutrition and just wanted genuine clinical answers/help and not discrimination. The lovely receptionist immediately treated me with kindness and sympathy when I walked in with my bags, taking them and I back to a room immediately. Dr. Julie Seaman was able to evaluate and prescribe medication for my situation, and for the first time in years, I feel as though I have been prescribed the proper medication regimen for my Bipolar 1. With this care and reassurance, I was able to gather myself and regain control of the situation. Thank you for all you do here at Arundel Lodge. Kindness and compassion goes a long, long way!

I cannot say enough good about the staff at this hospital. They were patient, compassionate, attentive and went above and beyond for me during my stay after another hospital AND an urgent care failed me. I arrived feeling hopeless, let down and incredibly sick and left feeling hopeful, cared for and immensely better within only a few days.

My five star rating is based on my observation and communication while my 93 years old mom (who doesn't remember much of anything) was being treated for UTI and pneumonia. The staff was phenomenal. The staff in the emergency were great, but special thanks goes to the staff on the 4th floor. Dr. Molla, the nurses (Fraoi, Michelle, Elizabeth, Ramata, Lineth), the techs (Tammie and Mireille). Also, thanks to the kind people taking food orders and those that delivered it. And the cleaning ladies were also very polite. I'm sure I forgot a few but thanks to everyone.

Our daughter was in desperate need of help. Her ED had gotten into a dangerous zone. Out patient therapy was just not enough to bridge the gap for us. We began looking for facilities and this one was semi close. Leaving your child can be very difficult and reading reviews I felt somewhat comfortable with this place. Ilida was really easy to work with. When we arrived, she went through all of the initial paperwork with us and made sure we understood everything before signing. While there our daughter was able to gain weight and understand her relationship with her body image and understand how her eating disorder affected that. The staff was great and quickly developed relationships that were therapeutic with my daughter- helping her use her DBT skills when she would get upset. As a mom, it does your heart good to know that when your child is upset, there is someone there to comfort them when you can’t. She went in having withdrawn into herself, no longer enjoying activities she had previously enjoyed, and as previously mentioned, very sick. She discharged a healthy, happy kiddo! Enjoying activities she hadn’t enjoyed in a long time! The only negative comments I have is that the house was in somewhat of a transition of staff upon our arrival. Our daughter was assigned a virtual therapist & virtual dietician. While both of these individuals were great, we would have much preferred in person facilitation. There were some lapses of communication a few times, but again, staff was/is in transition. When it’s brought to their attention, they are quick to rectify this. At the end of the day, the good definitely outweighs the “bad” and if I had to do it all over again, I would send her there without hesitation. Actually at discharge, our daughter was in tears because while she wanted to come home, she was going to miss several of the staff!
