This place is full of love, compassion and dedication to helping patients become their best selves. I have been with this program for over eight years. There are so many opportunities offered in the program now it is amazing! Patients learn tools through the comprehensive education of our core groups of drug education, relapse prevention, coping skills, dual diagnosis, life skills, mindfulness, etc. Patients also have the opportunities of learning how to use a computer, build their resumes, get tutoring for the GED, take the GED test, go to Driver's Education, take college courses and the list is building everyday. The staff is a great team of hardworking individuals that put their hearts and souls into what they do.

Walden has employees who are very dedicated & compassionate where adults in their care are concerned. Thru covid nightmares making a huge hindrance in allowing group meetings for some time, dedicated staff realized the importance of interaction with others who have walked the same nightmare. National shortage of trained help I am sure impacts their jobs, but I sincerely feel Walden's employees work there for the right reason..often saving a person's life. Their satisfaction at times when in the future seeing one of the 'flock' leading a normal, happy life when they run into them in public tells me they are there to make a viable difference. Thanks to all of Walden's angels in disguise for this!

Let's face it every program isn't gonna be 🌈 and ✨ we are there to get clean. Thts the primary purpose. So for me to complain about the food is ridiculous cuz I barely ate b4 I even went in there. And definitely disagree about them leaving u alone while you are in detox they do an assessment every 4 hrs. I couldn't get them to leave me alone all I wanted to do was sleep. But shout out to the nursing staff ⚕️ I loved all of you. My warmest hugs 🤗 to Kimmy Ms. Deb Jennifer Emma Ms. Lisa oh my my my I can't forget Toby and Kim y'all do a heck of a job cleaning us up. Renika do her thing with those dessert 🎂 and Ted those French toast, idk wht u do but keep on doing it and NeNe girl keep putting tht soul in it. Lol 🤣 I miss y'all already. In a nutshell the program gonna be what you put into it. You can have fun while getting clean or be miserable 😖 and still get clean. The choice is yours but it's not my place to blame it on a facility when I need to look at the behaviors I still carried with me. Thanks for having me. Ms. CeCe I'll be back for your I mean MY clothes 😂🥰 Oh yea by far my favorite counselor award goes to Nicole but Sheron u definitely pulled a lot out of me so u lost points for making me feel to much and crying lol. Im nothing but gratful for the center for children!!! They are wonderful & so helpful w\all are needs, my granddaughter goes there & i. Have see a 75% change in the last 4 months she has been going!!! Her thearapist in absolutely a godsent to us!!! Im also learning things from them, & they will work w\your schedule!!!I highly recommend this place if your child, grandchild or even your self are in need of ccounsoling or info.

I never knew urgent medical care could be provided with so much caring empathy, and investment in the patient's wellbeing.
The last few days I've basically lived at the VHC. My mom had a quadruple bypass. During the procedure my dad had to go to the emergency room for severe chest pains. Every step, every nurse, every doctor, were incredibly invested in the health and well-being of my parents.

The only reason and I mean the only reason I am giving this five stars is because of my counselor Miss Ell when I I'm telling you this woman has helped me so tremendously she saved my life and my family she helped me stay clean when the actual clinic was not doing what they were supposed to be doing for instance this woman found my papers that were sitting behind the reception desk under stack of paper for almost a week a little back side story I had surgery August 25th when in August 26th and tested for a benzo well they took my take-homes away that I had just gotten so it took me all over a few days to get the hospital to fax over my paperwork well she had found it took it to the doctor the doctor said the medication wasn't on there that I was lying. Well missile took it right back to her and showed her it's right here so again she's the one and only reason I have my take homes she's been working on getting me my take homes once again while moving up in my take-homes and there's one doctor there that's never there so it's next to impossible to get take homes but she made it happen and is still trying to make it happen. All I want to say is you have amazing people that work there that keep getting ran away all the time by the employees there that are just there for a paycheck I'm just thankful that she got me on the path that I need to be on mentally and physically before anything happens to her honestly because from here on out I will continue to do good and I will always think of her

My husband (a veteran) went to the ER this morning. Come to find out, he has to get his gallbladder removed! When we got home he went straight to sleep and I went ahead and was trying to get everything set up for him (surgery, consult appointment, etc). I had so much trouble and unhelpful people on the phone through the general VA line. On a whim, I came into this clinic needing help on a situation regarding his surgery. I was met with a very, very nice lady named Miesha. She went above and beyond to help me. She gave me tips and advice on what to do next time this would happen (my husband hasn’t been to the ER under VA insurance until today). She went out of her way to show me things that she didn’t need to, and even provided me a Manila envelope and a binder clip for all my documents! From there, Kim (a nurse) took over and also went above and beyond to help me! I let her know how much pain my husband was in and got the head nurse to help! While waiting, she was so nice to converse with and I enjoyed getting to know her. Christine was amazing in ensuring we would get into a surgery consult ASAP. She’s very kind and straight to the point! She was very eager to help me. I am not a veteran myself, so the fact that I spent at least an hour there getting information from everyone and they didn’t make a DIME off of me is something that’s unheard of nowadays. Thank you Miesha, Kim, and Christine for helping me! I wish I could have you all as MY primary care. ( :

My opthamology tech was very knowledgeable and helpful. She advised me on future appointments and when I'm doing upgrade. She went over and beyond for me. Well to be honest, I only enrolled because I was fighting a gun charge, and thought it would look good on paper to take therapy sessions. I was not looking to be sober. Fast-forward a year later I got incarcerated. Fortunately Serenity gave me the skills, knowledge and ability to deny the urges of using a substance. I am grateful for the experience.

Great place to be if you're homeless . Staff is great except one staff member. His name is red. He's short light skin with a bald head. He always ask the homeless for money so he can trick with the young girls. But other than that. It's a good place to be.

As a photographer being at loose ends awaiting a Peace Corps assignment in Africa, Ron asked me to set up a photo program, and build a darkroom to encourage people in the RAP program to develop those skills to help take their minds off heroin. In the process I witnessed some pretty harrowing cold turkey withdrawal by young folks on a couch just outside the darkroom. Unforgettable. If I remember, RAP was then located up behind the Hilton in Adams Morgan.
