Tranquility Woods is the best treatment center I’ve ever experienced. The multiple individual therapy sessions per week changed my life. The groups were informative and fun, and encouraged connection amongst the community. The staff is extremely kind, compassionate, understanding and supportive. Hands down, one of the most pivotal and important decisions of my 50+ years on this planet: going to TW. My experiences there have completely turned my whole outlook on life around.
I may not have agreed with every single method, but IMHO, the results speak for themselves. I am now sober and so much more content and satisfied with myself, with who I am inside and out. I washed upon the shore of Maryland Addiction Recovery Center with my life in utter shambles. Having gone to a dozen treatment centers in three years, hopeless and entirely broken would be a sufficient summary, but that would be an understatement. Addiction is not something I foresaw for my otherwise promising life on paper, but it reared its hideous head throughout my early 20s. The prospect of a career, college education, reunited family, sense of community, or merely happy and sober existence felt dead and gone.
As a last-ditch effort, my family and I decided a Long-Term Care facility might give me a shot at the life I always envisioned for myself. While I wasn't sold on the idea, I begrudgingly agreed to make the 250 mile drive to Maryland to embark on the unknown, terrified and uncertain. I remember thinking to myself: "If this doesn't work, I don't know what will".
Without delving into miles of details, this coming February I will celebrate 5 years sober, and I can confidently say that without the dedicated staff, patient-specific care, community-living arrangement, structured environment, vocational program, tough love, and rigorous personal accountability instilled at MARC, I do not know where I would be, or if I would be alive.

I was a former Marc patient. I was a unique case because I had a career going there unlike most.I liked how they were able to handle me and not treat me like the many other people who were not in my situation (lower class).Out of most rehabs, I believe they care about each patient more than most. I met some good people there. At the time, I was a rookie in my career and have climb the ranks since then. I needed the sobriety and support I received there to help achieve the mass success I have nowadays.

I am writing in high praise for the Maryland Addiction Recovery Center (MARC), its staff and its co-founder and Executive Director Sam Bierman.
Our daughter is now completing the program and is in her ninth month of sobriety through these collective efforts and the perseverance of our daughter.
MARC not only cares deeply for individuals in its programs, but also family members as well—through family counseling and updates that offer great compassion, understanding and peace.

Addiction is an epidemic in this country and taking our loved ones daily. Myself losing 2 of my ex's to overdose. I personally have never used. Recently I completed my IOP with Lisa Stalnaker and Katelynn Marshall. If I could leave more stars I would. I have done Kolmac before (do not judge my relapse to Kolmac's program, that is all me) and when I needed to, I came back- paying out of pocket- because the program my provider (name drop, Kaiser) did not offer the structure Kolmac does. I know I made the right choice.
Doing IOP on zoom is much different from in-person and it demands a counselor who can fully engaged the entire group, read the room, and to be able to provide feedback. It is not easy to be fully engaged on a zoom call for 3 hours for anything, much less therapy type shares, and Lisa does it while exceeding expectations. She listens, shares with the right amount of connecting in, and keeps her distance as appropriate. She has a wonderful sense of humor and a deep sense of humility and gratitude.
Katelynn has the thankless task of checking in and encouraging a plan for success. She is professional, encouraging, and does a great job of communicating.
Again, I need more stars. I would never want to deal with a bunch of "me-s" and Kolmac (Lisa and Katelynn) do it well.

This wss a 2nd opinion from another Med Star Orthopedic Ankle Foot, AWESOME experience compared to my initial visit with a different Orthopedic in Ellicott City. (Complete was of time and money). I was not pleased and would expect to have ny bill adjusted from 1st two vidits and will revisit this review, msrk it a 5 Star if Billing is adjusted as I have a $4k Ded so all 3 visits are 100% out of my pocket. (Not just a “coppay” which makes a big difference) The good news is, I’ve never had two second guess or question medical advice From a physician before. I will rate Chrysalis House based on when I was there and when it was being ran by different staff and Mrs Carisaa was there. Other than that I can not speak for the program after Mrs. Carissa left. When I was there it was tough but it is what i needed. I have never been to a program that actually cared and literally internally got to me dug up some buried issues and I worked on them. Mrs. MELVINA was my counselor, she was amazing. Most of the staff had went through addiction. Mrs Denise was amazzziiinnggg i never felt uncomfortable, leaving my son with them during the day. The whole staff at that time was amazing. Yes, it was very strict, but they did it in a loving way because they did not want us to die. I know countless women
That graduated the Chrysalis House and are still clean. I have ten fifteen, close lifelong friends that I had met at Chrysalis and that are still clean to this day. I have never went to a treatment that had this much success. Like I said, I cannot speak for the new staff, but it sounds like it is still a great program.While I was there and before I left, they were building on the new addition which was beautiful.It was finished before I left but was not open yet. A woman and children's program is needed and I hope that this one is ran as good as it was when I was there.I'm sure it is. I felt so safe with my children. I'll forever be grateful for Mrs. Carissa and all the staff.

I was someone who stayed here for so time almost a year. I know you can't please everyone but they did try to. Most of the residential staff was wonderful very attentive to the clients needs. The two that I felt that went beyond their job was Simone and Melissa I felt very safe and comfortable w them and they are some of the most compassionate, caring staff I have come across I truly believe they are at their job not only for a paycheck but to help. Thank you to all the residential staff. The clinical team here is beyond amazing I am actually lost for words how much the team does. From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. The place had a super chill energy, kind of like a breath of fresh air after all the chaos I’d been through .What hit different was the way they blended structure with real understanding. Jeff, who no longer works there was my counselor, but he was just one of many counselors that really help get you through this difficult moment in your life. out of all the rehabs i been to this the only one that worked. i’m cali sober, meaning i still smoke and drink, but i don’t do anything else anymore. the only “negative” is that the food sucked but even then we were able to have our parents bring us food. not to add i went in 2023 so i am more than positive they upgraded. all of their staff genuinely care about the patients coming in and out. if you’re considering sending your child to this facility, this is their best option, coming from an individual who spent her life in and out of hospitals and residentials. this is the best place you will ever find.

Very grateful for Sandstone. The intake process was smooth and easy during a scary and stressful time for our family. The staff were highly compassionate, communicative and skilled with both me (the mom) and their client (my daughter). While the journey itself was difficult, my daughter and I each in our own way felt supported the whole time. Her therapist, Kaelenn Keller, clicked with her right away and also provided valuable support to me. My daughter continued in from residential to IOP. Together these programs helped her immensely. I did not expect her to be so self aware so quickly. Although she was not given a choice to go, she was able to look back on the experience as favorable and necessary almost right away, which I think alone speaks volumes for the quality of care they provide. Forever grateful to the staff for helping my daughter.

CAM has by far been the best program I’ve been on. I was at another program (Cherryhill) for years & that place Hod change your whole energy. I would go in happy, come out in a horrible mood! There were a few good people there like Mrs. Hope & Nurse Michelle & a few good counselors, but at CAM, everyone has been amazing! From the beautiful woman at the front to the nurses & counselors, I am grateful for each one of them. I’ve been clean for 14 years & continue to be clean because of CAM.

Would HIGHLY recommend exploring treatment options with Kolmac if you’re ready to step into your recovery. ❤️🩹 I completed the 90(ish) day IOP program attending online group sessions three times a week for three hours in addition to individual medical appts/medication management and individual treatment plan planning. I had the incredible pleasure of working with Lisa S as my group counselor. She was professional, compassionate and understanding of the needs of her group members. She maintained a healthy and safe environment for us to all lean into the process at our own pace and found ways to relate to everyone regardless of situation. My medical/medication management was also all handled via telehealth. I felt heard when discussing my apprehension to some medications and was made to feel like the process to improve my health and the decisions being made around it were collaborative. Katelyn was my individual counselor and assisted me with developing my treatment plan. She is an absolute sweetheart and though early in her career was able to provide guidance and encouragement that felt beyond her years. I am actively transitioning to their continuing care program and look forward to seeing how far I can go with such a strong team behind me. 97 days!!!

There are opportunities for veterans to get help for those dealing with addition. They also help veterans who are looking for shelter on a temporary basis. I have been with Port Recovery for about a year and a half now. I've had sessions with Alana, Elaine, Courtney, Joanne, and Carol. I also had M-F 9am group sessions as well when I was on probation. I like the place enough that I've decided to stay with them after probation to keep seeing Ms. Cook as my psychiatric nurse practitioner. The welcoming environment is exactly what I need, and most likely you too. I was referred to Port Recovery from my Probation Officer. I got into trouble by wrecking my car into a ditch while sleep driving on Ambien. I couldn't remember a thing, only waking up in the hospital. So, I stopped taking extra Ambien even if I can't fall asleep back in February 2020. Now, I'm getting help at Port Recovery with my severe anxiety, depression, and PTSD issues. Best place I've been to for those issues, and being able to see all the professionals I need under one roof is perfectly convenient. Everyone is on the same page! Good luck to everyone else!!!
