The only place I did an application for was Evolve. A few years later, I did an interview and was accepted the same day. About a week before my dishwasher we called to let them know. I was being close to being discharged. We were notified and I was on a waitlist and I was pretty far down the waitlist and I went into full panic mode because I had no Plan B and I did not want a Plan B!!! I had heard nothing but positive things about Evolve from personal close friends that are in recovery. That weekend, I did a lot of self advocating in my higher power was definitely on my side because Tuesday I was told that I was leaving the next day. So far, my experience has been great here. Allison S 3 years ago I went to The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt experiencing severe depression, anxiety and OCD. I'd been to other facilities and had to wait in line for up to an hour or more for meds that were dolled out without any consideration for the patient. I also had psychiatrist's who would schedule virtually once a week. This was NOT the case at The Retreat. The staff there were awesome! Absolutely ALL of the staff there, especially the doctors and nursing staff, were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. It HONESTLY felt like they cared. I literally cannot say enough great things about the OCD team, led by Jon Hershfield. They were tremendous! I met with Jon or one of his staff nearly every day I was there. Absolute pros!
