Maryland Recovery is an addiction recovery program in Harford County. They’ve been around since 1999 in Bel Air, Maryland and offer affordable recovery housing and outpatient programs. Living in a sober recovery home while attending high-quality outpatient treatment gives you all the benefits of residential treatment but without the high cost. Al
Maryland recovery definitely has an amazing program. Like anything in recovery you have to be open to change. The councilors to the coordinator are all amazing they give u as much information as possible while giving the tools to succeed. All the employees have been thru addiction and that matters they have been thru the trenches of addiction and have been successful with their recovery and are very supportive of whatever u have going on. I learned so much from MRP from the way ur brain is affected to the coping skills to help u move thru ur recovery. I love everyone at MRP and will recommend them to anyone who is serious about actually getting well. Thank you Alex, Chris, Sean, Brittany, Laura, and the whole team there for changing my life for the better

I had a few options after detox/rehab for a step down program to continue working on my recovery. I am very happy that I chose to go to MRP. From the initial assessment to my next step afterwards, I was supported and involved with every single part of this process. Kim was my counselor and she treated me like I was her own son. She helped open up and talk about things that have been such a struggle for me my whole life. The groups were very informative and enjoyable at the same time. As much as we worked on our recovery, we also had a lot of fun while I was there. We went bowling, to the movies and fishing when the weather permitted. I am so thankful for every single staff member who helped me with everything that I needed. I was so nervous on my way there but that feeling disappeared as soon as I stepped in the door. I was a bit sad to leave but I was also very excited to move on to the next chapter of my life. Again thank you MRP, I appreciate y’all so much.

We are and have been incredibly impressed with MARC’S recovery program. This is so much more than just a 30-day inpatient program. This is round 2 with our son in an inpatient 30-day program. First round included 60-day housing program with another recovery team. Choosing MARC after a 30-day inpatient, has gone beyond our expectations. The plan of treatment was SO individualized to our son’s needs. The program included substance recovery and truly addressed his mental health. The communication with the staff was clear and quick to respond. The program incorporated weekly family therapy which educated us on addiction and taught us how to communicate again without waking on “eggshells.” The staff is compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my son’s success. The program provided the tools, support, and guidance he needed to rebuild his life and strengthen my relationships with our family. Including family in the recovery process has made a tremendous difference and helped create a strong foundation for lasting recovery. His courage and confidence have made him a strong individual. We highly recommend this program to anyone seeking comprehensive, compassionate care with a successful recovery. My son has chosen to remain with his therapist as his outpatient. The trust and bound with his therapist is strong.

My inspiring experience at Kolmac, I was compelled to seek intensive rehab by my specialist. Reason being to do otherwise would mean the surgeons wouldn't operate. My blood scores gave me 18 months. I was in a wheel chair, Could barely walk, Everything hurt. I was a pretty useless human at the time. I chose Kolmac because I couldn't get somewhere in person. Looking back it was the best way for me to get over my skepticism of rehab or therapy. I'm older gen x, sorry its in my nature. It took about 3 weeks before it sunk in. I realized I had no time left. I looked at that 18 months. This is what I have to work with. I control this last 18. I'm going to fake it if I have to. I did at first but, turns out my self is pretty gullible. Kolmac helped me get my mind right. I got better at dealing with bad news. Loved ones started to notice. I started to meditate when I couldn't sleep. I prayed to God. Don't let my last days be the sad part of a country song. Then my scores started to improve. I physically improved. I had more time, which coincided with the gift of a living donor. Then setbacks. A rollercoaster. All the while I had the soft pillow of Kolmac friends to help. Everyone has their monster. My health was mine. There is a special bond that you developed with other recovering alcoholics. I notice we seek each other out at parties. The battle of recovery is brutal and I learned a lot from my fellow Kolmac warriors and waryetts I love and care about them like family which makes it so hard to move on. So back to the grind. Life doesn't always go the way I want. I have the tools to deal with it. I've found peace and happiness in the quiet spaces of my day. I've come a long way in 18 months. I trust my sobriety which in turn inspires others and makes them happy. Paul

Going in I was apprehension as the program is intensive. But after one group session, I felt completely at ease. I began looking forward to groups, and meeting with my counselor. They keep in touch with you intermittently throughout the program to make sure that you’re adjusting to Kolmac. Safety, and accountability are also of the utmost importance, which I truly appreciated. Overall, Kolmac gave me more tools to add to my toolbelt, while keeping me engaged and challenging me. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you, Kolmac and Lisa!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Dempsey and the entire staff at MedStar! I broke my foot in May, and from the beginning of my treatment until my final appointment today, I truly felt like I was in great hands. Dr. Dempsey always made me feel heard and listened to. He took my concerns seriously, answered every question I had, and made sure I was comfortable and understood what was going on throughout my recovery. Whenever I needed to reach him or had a concern, I was able to get in touch and get the answers I needed. I never felt like just another patient. The staff was just as amazing! Every time I came in, I was greeted with a smile and treated with kindness. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and I never had to sit around waiting forever after checking in, which I really appreciated. Today was bittersweet because it was my last appointment with Dr. Dempsey, but I’m so thankful for the care I received over these past few months. Dr. Dempsey and his staff made a stressful experience so much easier for me. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dempsey and his team to anyone looking for an orthopedic doctor who truly listens, cares, and makes you feel comfortable. Thank you all for taking such great care of me! ❤️

I can't recommend TruHealing enough. If you read negative reviews, take them with a grain of salt—recovery requires rules, and the structure they provide is the reality check most of us desperately need. The absolute best part of the program is the staff. The techs have walked in our shoes (many are alumni of the program), so they truly understand what it takes. A special shoutout to Rodney, Tim, Marquese, Andre, and Eric. They are incredibly down-to-earth and genuinely care about your success. I arrived at the Retreat at Sheppard Pratt suffering from severe obsessive-compulsive and body dysmorphic disorders. Jon Hershfield and the OCD team provided me with exceptionally skilled treatment so I could return home to a significantly higher-quality, more productive, and happier life. I worked specifically with Jon, Molly, and Rebecca (the entire team is fantastic), and they are without a doubt the most knowledgeable, compassionate, intentional, and collaborative clinicians with whom I have ever worked over the course of my 30+ year journey with OCD. They educated me on my conditions and empowered me to build the skills and tools necessary to live with and effectively manage these chronic illnesses. They worked closely with my psychiatrist and social worker on my care team at the Retreat to create a holistic approach to recovery. They also ensured that I was discharged with a comprehensive plan to execute with my psychologist at home. I highly recommend them and am eternally grateful for their life-changing care.

I went to The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt experiencing severe depression, anxiety and OCD. I'd been to other facilities and had to wait in line for up to an hour or more for meds that were dolled out without any consideration for the patient. I also had psychiatrist's who would schedule virtually once a week. This was NOT the case at The Retreat. The staff there were awesome! Absolutely ALL of the staff there, especially the doctors and nursing staff, were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. It HONESTLY felt like they cared. I literally cannot say enough great things about the OCD team, led by Jon Hershfield. They were tremendous! I met with Jon or one of his staff nearly every day I was there. Absolute pros! Thank you, guys! The Retreat is a clean, friendly, attentive and professional place to go if you are experiencing mental health problems. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

I give this place 5 stars no question. From the clean and neat facility to the compassionate and helpful staff there are simply no complaints. They have a really good system at TH where everyone works together no matter what their position is. From the counselors to the peers to the nurses, everyone is on the same page like a well oiled machine. This was imperative to me detoxing from alcohol where lack of clarity and lack of confusion could just simply make my experience harder. Lots of empowering groups were had where it forced you to really reflect on previous and future choices however the counselors arent pushy. If you truly want the help they are open and ready to give it to you. Some additional pluses are the kitchen staff, they make sure you’re well fed which is an important part of recovery. Shoutout to Brittany the peer there, she runs around that facility helping any and every woman she can. I found her to be very helpful to me. Overall, I had a great experience and feel ready to continue to attack this disease, day by day.

Go there to gather yourself and all you have to do is exist. They will literally help you figure out what type of treatment fits you best for when you leave their facility. It’s a very nice environment. You get a room with a roommate and a shower and bathroom. And they food you 3 full meals a day!! And I mean their meals are from a certified chef. Endless Coffee with each meal and a machine like McDonald’s with the fountain drinks but not soda. But strawberry lemonade, sweet tea, mango, orange juice and I think a few more. But I’m telling you it’s a 30 day max place but while your there like I said they will ensure your ready to go to your next recovery place and help you find it and coordinate with them and take you to a visit to see if the next place feels like a good fit. They have places that give u training for certain things, I forgot which ones they offer but trust me it’s an amazing place. Ohh I almost forgot they also offer detox off of benzos, opiates, and alcohol. They may offer more. Just call and speak with them and ask questions about their services. There’s a lady that speaks Spanish for people that need to go that can’t speak English but are still in need of help. No insurance required. Just the ability to want to become sober.

Tuerk house is a place where no matter the conditions (no insurance, no money, homelessness) come in and get what you need! If you are struggling with an addiction put the pride aside and walk into the open doors of recovery. This place has saved my life and my hopes are it will save your life if you accept the help. No program will ever be a 100% however if you gear your energy to focus on your recovery a 100% I can guarantee you that your disease will be arrested. Thanks to the Tuerk house staff you are greatly appreciated.
